unfortunately this ROHR of ours does not rate the Eredivisie...
that's the few problem I have with Him...though... he is more disposed towards the French, German league and even the English and Spanish league he just have to because those leagues are renowed...

but the Belgian league and Eredivisie
mbanu... the old man rarely look there

How many performing players do we have in the Eredivise besides Dessers and a young Ejuke?

Super Eagles Players Want Rohr To Give Them License To Attack More – We Are Too Conservative
December 4, 201901676

Six current players of the senior national team of Nigeria have voiced out their preferred style of play as opposed to what coach of the team Gernot Rohr set them up to play.

Rohr is known to favour a defensive approach which has so far proved to be effective for Nigeria but some of the players are unhappy as they believe it has limited their contributions particularly with the way they are all used to playing at their clubs.

” I love to join the attack despite the fact that I’m a defender but in the national team the coach don’t usually like us to overlap. So most times we play just above the centre circle. It has limited me severally “, one of the players told Owngoalnigeria.com.

Another who is a midfielder in the team believe the issue of lack of creativity is due to the fact that they usually have few options when in possession of the ball in the opponent’s half due to how they are set up to play.

” Most times we are forced to play the ball sideways and backwards due to lack of options in attack. It’s something that has to do with our approach to games and it will be nice if we play to our strength due to the amount of forwards we have who are doing well at their clubs “, he told Owngoalnigeria.com.

Their sentiment was shared by four other players and according to the players they have discussed the tactics at their meeting but most times they have to play to the instruction of the coach who is known for favouring a defensive style of play.

Abeg make them leave matter for Mathias ooo.

Which one is being forced to play sideways and backwards due to lack of options in the attack again?

Aren't they Eleven Players every now and then?

And they still concede early Goals?

Does the Coach asked them not to open up to create spaces and options in the attack line?

When their adrenaline rush wouldn't even allow for the compact attacking Football that they are being asked to play?

Abi which Coach want to always concede and not want to win as well?

Maybe na one of those bench warmers dey talk sef undecided

Olofinjana, Finidi In Line For Nigeria Youth Team Coaching Job, Salisu Retains Role In National Team Setup

Owngoalnigeria.com exclusively gathered that while the NFF advertised the jobs for U17 and U20 teams, the football house have decided to retain Salisu Yusuf as the coach of the U23 team following his return from suspension for his involvement in a bribery ‎scandal regarding players selection.

On the jobs available, the football house is favouring former Mallorca and Real Betis B youth team coach Finidi George for the job of coach of U-17 team while Seyi Olofinjana who is presently a coach with English Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers is the leading candidate to be named the U20 coach.

Olofinjana presently works as the manager of players sent on loan by Wolves and he will push to retain his job with the club even if he is appointed by the NFF when the list of the successful coaches is announced next year.
They should throw it open, conduct interview and choose the most competent person. I don't like the way they are mentioning names like they already have preferred candidates

West Ham have real problems in the attacking department at the moment.

They signed Sebastien Haller for £45 million in the summer, and he has looked extremely unconvincing over the past couple of months.

The 24-year-old is in the form of his life, and he has already banged in 13 goals in 16 games for the Dutch outfit this season.

He seems to be a natural born goalscorer, and although he doesn’t do much aside from scoring goals, he is exactly the type of striker the Hammers need to partner Haller.

Dessers is a strong centre-forward, and standing at 6ft 1 in tall, he seems to be ideally suited to the Premier League, what with its robust nature.

The Belgian is under contract with Heracles until the summer of 2022, so he will certianly not come cheap.

West Ham should have more than enough financial firepower to test the Dutch side’s resolve, however.

At 24, Dessers still has plenty of years left ahead of him before he even reaches his prime.

And if the Hammers do sign the Heracles hitman, he could end up being a really useful addition over many years to come.

West Ham and Crystal Palace have been interested in every Nigerian player

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr says he plans to hand opportunities to more new players to play for the Nigerian national team.

According to Rohr, the invitation will be for the next international friendly match to be organised for the Super Eagles on a convenient date between the competitive games during FIFA international windows of 2020.

“With the next FIFA window, we will already be in the qualifiers for the (2022) World Cup, so it will not be the moment to try new things with players we have never seen before,” Rohr said on Brila FM.

“You never know what can happen, we will see because I think before the FIFA [World Cup] qualifiers, we would have perhaps a friendly, this is the moment to test new players.”

The Super Eagles are among the top ranked 26 ranked in Africa who were drawn bye in the First Round of the 2022 FIFA World Cup African qualifiers.

The 26 top teams will now merge with the 14 that qualified from the First Round for the Second Round (Group Phase) comprising 10 group. The draw will be conducted on January 7, 2020.

The first and second rounds of games in the 2022 FIFA World Cup African qualifiers Second Round will be played between March 23 to 31, 2020.

After the 2022 World qualifying games in March, the Super Eagles will host Sierra Leone at home in their next 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on August 31, 2020. And then travel to Freetown eight days later for the second leg clash.

Indirectly carrying a team that beat Madrid 5-1 without him? Without the hard work put in by world class Barcelona players Messi wouldn't get to do what he does. Football is a team sport. Can he get the ball from the keeper, not pass to anybody and score 50 a season?

If Luis Suarez goes to a team that lets him walk around doing nothing when they lose the ball I guarantee he will score no less than 50 for the next 3 seasons and he is not young.

You just have to tell us you are a CR7 fan
Come on,you are not a toddler when it comes to football. Yes ,Barca defeated Real Madrid without messi , we all know Barca is always want to prove something against their bitter rival so messi playing or not wouldn't have changed the fate of that match. More so ,why can't you sight an example of countless number of times that messi has come to Barca's rescue. If Messi had been unavailable due to injury up till now,Barca would not be smelling the top of the table by now.
And , are you really referring to Luiz suarez of barca? the same Suarez that has not score am away goal in UCL for about two years now ,do you know the number of chances Suarez do miss? The same Suarez every barca fans will give everything to rid off ?.... Sorry, I don't think know anything about barca...Can you please list the world class players at barca right now especially in the attacking department that are sharing the goalscoring burden with messi?

First and foremost this is not a Messi vs Ronaldo debate. Take that to your local beer parlor.

Did Barcelona beat Real Madrid 5-1 without Messi yes or no? If those players don't have to humble themselves and work for messi you would see that they have immense quality.

Former Dutch international Raphael Van Der Vaart says Nigeria international defender William Troost-Ekong would have been a regular for the Dutch team now if he hadn’t committed to Nigeria.

The Udinese defender was eligible for Nigeria and the Netherlands but picked Nigeria where he made his debut in 2013 and has risen to the role of vice captain of the team.

Van Der Vaart who now works as a television pundit first had contact with the Nigerian during his formative years at Tottenham Hotspur and claimed he advised him to return back to the Netherlands when it was clear that he wasn’t suited to the style of play at the club.

Speaking on the rise of the defender who is now an established international with the senior national team of Nigeria, Van Der Vaart said if he hadn’t rushed in pledging his future to Nigeria he would have been a part of the Dutch set up.

” Ekong has improved but still need to work hard on some areas. A decent player who could have been part of the Dutch team but he wasn’t patient and played for Nigeria instead. You can’t fault his decision because he has played at major tournament with Nigeria “, Van Der Vaart concluded.

Cyriel Dessers has hit back at a section of the Belgium press for criticising his decision to snub Belgium and pledge his international future to Nigeria, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

The 24 year old who is presently the top scorer in the Dutch Eredivisie with 11 goals that has also earned him the player of the month in the league rejected a chance to team up with the senior national team of Belgium insisting on Nigeria.

His decision has been severally criticised by a section of the media in Belgium with many saying he choose the easy path of representing Nigeria because he isn’t as good as the options ahead of him in the Belgium national team setup.

Dessers has hit back at them by insisting that he has always wanted to play for Nigeria even when the team was loaded with top players because of his strong connection with the country of his parents owing to how he was raised.

” It’s not about picking the easy option. It’s more about fulfilling my childhood dream of wanting to play for Nigeria. It’s a dream I have nurtured for years and now that I’m so close I won’t be distracted by talks of picking the easy option”, Dessers told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” Nigeria is blessed with quality players especially in attack. There’s Victor Osimhen, Samuel Kalu, Samuel Chukwueze, Ahmed Musa and a host of others and that’s some competition. However I am willing to push for a spot in the team when I hopefully get a call up to the team”, he concluded.

I may catch a lot of flack for this but with the way things are currently going, I would say that Akpeyi is at the top of the goalkeeping pecking order.

Uzoho is injured and Akpeyi just snatched the player of the month award for the ABSA premiership. Who's Zuby?
