People who think Buhari shields a lot of people from persecution are mistaken.

They come to that conclusion forgetting that institutions can act independently of the president. There are also 3 arms of government and the judiciary is, of course, independent of the executive.

Buhari knows this and keeps his distance when the other arms of government or institutions deal with the crooks.
