To be sincere tbaba apart from what we have there is no other option better than iorfa

Or who are the others options ?

If rohr is to call a new defender then it should be iorfa and none else

That's the reality no frills.

aside from what we have in the team already he is the best option for now, even the german boys don't see regular playing time anymore. hertha berlin highly rated torunarigha have been a perennial bench warmer since the start of the season

uduokhai started some games for relegation threatened augsburg after joining them on loan but have been dropped to the bench in recent games

akpoguma also is not a steady figure in hoffeheim's starting 11

for now iorfa jnr and adarabioyo are the best options outside of the team

I see Ovie and Dominic in the green and white soon and very soon. With Eze to follow later on.

ehizibue too. my instincts tells me that once eze joins an epl team this winter transfer or summer he will switch to us

alot is going on behind the scene regarding his international future but his heart is to play for the super eagles.

Qpr are trying to maximize their chances of making good money from his potential sale to an epl team and the "english u21 player" tag will do the magic for them

the thing is, what we have in the team is sufficient.

This isn't five years ago, when most of the team had aged considerably, this is a youthful team, so one would have to work twice as hard to get into thiss team, and to be sincere, the immediate needs are a midfielder and a striker, the defense has no immediate need, so, Dominic will be chilling for a while.

having a good team is good but having a good depth of quality and hungry players as reserve is also a welcome development in building a team

the current team is good but the infusion of more quality will make the fight for a starters place or even the bench to be fierce which will bring out the best in the players.

like you said, the midfield and striking positions need more players but that shouldn't make the coach turn blind on eye players in other positions doing well. i want a super eagles team with rich depth of talented players yawning for an opportunity in the team

won't you love the super eagles to have depth of talents just as the les blues,3 lions, orange boys or the samba boys?

imagine qualifying for the world cup and important players like ekong, ndidi and oshimeh sustains injuries that will keep them out of the tournament and we don't have a good depth to pick from to replace them?

Well said. People may forget we have enough options at CB.

- Kenneth Omeruo
- Semi Ajayi
- William T. Ekong
- Chidozie Awaziem (who is also an option at RB).
Even Leon Balogun is left out these days due to his Brighton situation. We can now afford to leave him out as we have quality options.

Na Back-up striker we want to settle first. Then an attacking midfielder and others to follow. Don't forget we also seek another Left back.

Depth is good. No sensible fan don't want quality depth. But at CB, we can only play two at a time based on our most used formation of 4-3-3/4-2-3-1. In a 3-5-2, we can always shuffle also.

We are quite stoked at CB. Any player coming will have to bide his time.

Agreed about the defence , because omeruo is also there at the bench because ajayi have been playing with ekong recently, awaziem is lucky to be versatile playing RB

Yes a midfielder and a striker is needed, I hope dessers is being called up as soon as possible.

No one is quoting you out of context. You are just not understanding my post. My post speak of abundance at the back and not who will displace who. I am saying in further explicit terms that even an Omeruo now is not certain of a starting berth due the competition in the CB role thus having any other CB come in now shouldn't be our topmost priority coz even if they come, they will be fringes for a while. That is why I said they will bide their time even if they come in.

Awaziem can't start at CB for now. The others are ahead for now. He too is an option there (at CB) and will become more of an option when an Ebuehi returns or an Ehizibue joins the Super Eagles fold.
It is his versatility that sees him getting caps at RB but I see that changing with time if one of the two players I just mentioned come into the picture of things.

form is not permanent. That's why continuous competition is necessary. Don't be surprised that even some of these youthful players will have a deep in form at some point. What do you do then? Still shut out other players who are showing great form at their club on the ground that we have a young team? Next year is 2020, although we hope that our players stay excellent and consistent throughout the year, it rarely happens in football. So let's keep the sentiments aside, when any of our players start to struggle or become consistent bench warmers they have to be shown the way out until they can fight their way back in the team. That is how excellence is achieved.

I agree with u and joebie, apart from sustaining injuries and experiencing a dip in form, the only super eagles player that I currently see as indispensable is Ndidi,so if there's a new addition to the team that is performing better in his club,he should be given the starting shirt.

Me: I have personally been following Adebayo's showings for a while now. And I have been well aware of Tobias Lawal. So many players I keep tabs on but I don't mention them so often.

Rohr List The Two Goalkeepers He Is Scouting Ahead Of Super Eagles Games In March

A new goalkeeper might be in the squad of the senior national team of Nigeria when they regroup for their engagement next year according to coach of the team Gernot Rohr, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

Rohr is presently without the services of his first choice goalkeeper Francis Uzoho who is out injured after picking up an injury in the 1-1 friendly draw against Brazil in November.

In his absence, Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi was in goal for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers games against Benin Republic and Lesotho respectively which Nigeria won 2-1 and 4-2 to begin their campaign on a sound note.

Rohr who revealed he almost played Fortuna Dusseldorf II goalkeeper Maduka Okoye in one of the games has now confirmed that he watched two goalkeepers before deciding against calling them up for the games.

”Two new goalkeepers were scouted by us and at least one would have made it but we decided against it because of some factors that I can’t tell. However we are still looking at them. One is in Israel playing regularly for a second division team Hapoel Katamon while the other plays for a team in Austria in the second division”, Rohr said.

The goalkeepers in question is the duo of Adebayo Adeleye who has been ever present for promotion chasing Israel second division side Hapoel Katamon. They are presently 3rd on the log after 13 games and he has kept goal in all but one of their games.

Tobias Lawal ‎is the other goalkeeper talked about by Rohr. The 19 year old is on the books of LASK but presently turns out for the B team of the club and he has been ever present in the team this season with 35 appearances to his name. Although born in Austria he wouldn’t be needing any document from FIFA to play for Nigeria as he is yet to play for Austria at any level.

Below are the pics of the two goalies...

Pics 3 & 4: Adebayo Adeleye (3 is recent. 4 is when he was my younger in the U-17 camp).
