that's a scouting problem. another Dan James can unearth to improve the team. look at Pepe and James now; non is really a waste of money per say but comparing respective contributions so far, one is looking like it.

Lagawa10 made a few gaffes but he was a good scout to be honest. He was busy preaching the Gospel of Maddison, Grealish and Van de Beek from a point when they were mostly obscure.

True that, but there are many ways to be a leader that might not be apparent to the outside observer. Not everybody is like Roy Keane or Puyol.
The way he conducts himself in training and generally off the field counts too.

McTominay is the one with the obvious traits in the squad but i don't think he needs that added pressure now. Let Young, DDG, Maguire, Pogba be rotating amongst themselves for now.
Tuanzebe and Brandon Williams are natural born leaders too but who knows if they will even make it in the club in terms of quality.
