Bros, you made some reasonable sense in your analysis, some people and some self acclaimed analyst have sympathies for Sowore , and I was surprised that some that don't have any iota of security knowledge were busy challenging the reason why sowore is detained, as some used to say in a saner clime, let me use America as an example, when Clinton lost election to trump does she went to meet the fugitives in the state and come back to stage any revolution move. Some just want to plunge this nation into political crises.
Trump did he use Thugs to rig himself to white house Sowore brought this on himself when he used his media to sold the tyrant to us...

Why is DSS even showing its use of force in this case? Shouldn’t the arrest be handled by the police while they conduct investigations and work with the lawyers? They just want to intimidate and harass the guy. They ended up disgracing themselves and all who sent them. Making themselves look like big fools. Nonsense.

Sentiments aside. When did DSS operatives start wearing suit? And again from the video it was falana that drove sowore out of court and DSS followed them (even SR confirmed it) meaning he was arrested somewhere else. So DSS are right. He wasn't arrested IN COURT. Emphasis IN COURT

Isn't that because they were PREVENTED FROM DOING SO?

Logic proved that DSS invaded the court to rearrests Sowore.
DSS has been reluctant to release Sowore even to the extent of disobeying court order.
DSS can only deceive those who are not smart enough to know the truth.
DSS cannot do certain "thing"...as some concluded....but...
it can hire a third party to do it if argued that no DSS guys were @ the scene of drama.
The leadership of DSS is crude and backward compared to others around the world. grin

They're an intelligence organization. The idea is that you should NOT be able to recognize anyone that "looked like a typical DSS officer"

Also...a revolution does not automatically mean A violent overthrow.
If you have a revolution in the way civil service is run in nigeria for example, the country would become more efficient and this would have nothing to do with violence.

First, sincerely when I watched the video yesterday I was confused. I didn't see any persona that looked like a DSS officer. I've once had an 'encounter' with DSS officers.
They escorted the corpse of a federal icon from Abuja to our village for burial. They arrived early in the night, witnessed the burial, shot guns in the air and drove off.

It was an intimidating experience. They were so organised and gallant. Their men were heavily built and their guns were sophisticated. No one in that video is similar to the typical DSS officer in my imagination.

Secondly, the word REVOLUTION that Sowore used is enough crime against him. I'm almost certain that if someone tried a tenth of such in the US he would be corpse in less than a month. Or at least be undead in Guantanamo.

Note: I'm opened to objective counter-arguments. If you rationally, objectively and politely debate my points then I'll listen to you. I'm willing to engage in intellectual debates.

SOWORE CASE: Religious Leaders Chide Sowore and Falana over misleading Reports.

Following the growing concerns over the activities of Mr Omoyele Sowore after his release from the department of state security custody, some religious leaders under the auspices of Forum of Nigerian Presbyterian ministry has described as the height of wickedness unpatriotism, the activities of Mr. Sowore after his release.

The Forum president , Bishop Abel Tasman wondered why Mr Sowore would embark on holding meetings immediately after his release against National Security.
Hear him" to my greatest shock, instead of reunite with family and friends , Mr Omoyele Sowore was deep neck into meetings where plots on how to overthrow the current administration were discussed"

Our worry is predicated on why Mr. Sowore’s lawyer does not guide his client appropriately. Instead they are more bent on media blackmail, intimidation and smear campaign against the Nigerian state particularly the department of state security.

The religious leaders said Nigerians should focus on unity and desist from promoting narratives that will set the nation against each other.

Commenting on the rearrest of Mr Omoyele Sowore, Bishop Abel Tasman said as representatives of the clergy in court as observers, he can confirm that Sowore’s rearrest was done outside the premises of the court. He also confirmed that the trending video was misleading and wondered why some people are bent on causing disaffection. He urged the department of state security to always tour the path of justice going forward Inspite of media bias.

Hear him" the rearrest of Mr Omoyele Sowore is the best decision in the circumstance, because his actions immediately after his release heightened anxiety of the masses and posed a great uncertainty for National Security.

The Bishop urged the federal government not to go outside the law in the process of ensuring National Security.

Neat points. Yes, I will admit I've taken a closer look at the videos, but cant seem to see any DSS in the courtroom, unless, like others have said, they were not fully kitted in their usual gear.

HOWEVER, while I may be tempted to give DSS account the benefit of doubt, the fact is their antecedents tilts heavily against them. The professionalism you painted is no longer the order of the day. Its now more of blatant rascility: the siege on the national assembly, arrest of sitting judges in dead of night, flagrant disobedience of court orders, just to mention a few.

Let us also not forget we're basing our conclusions on the few minutes video clips. Here is direct quote from Falana who witnessed the whole episode:

He said such an aberration had never taken place in Nigeria’s history even under a full blown military rule and vowed to challenge the violation of the court.

He said: “Even under full military dictatorship, you will be allowed to drive out of the court premises and then be arrested on the street but not in the web of the court, it has never happened before.

“The court was in session and was forced to rise. The judge had to rise because they were threatening to shoot. The judge had to withdraw because they were threatening to shoot, and asked lawyers to take a date for their cases.”

Is Falana also part of the drama?

the word revolution now!! Are you a judge? The judges reviewed his case, and saw no charge with him and therefore bailed him. So why will you go back to re arrest claiming again that the word is enough crime when the judge has declared? I think you're an Igbo person right?

Nothing would have happened if it were in the US. The FBI might call him for a chat then monitor him if need be. The FBI wouldn't have disobeyed court order to release a man after his bail conditions have been satisfied.

You people have a stereotype of what DSS agents should look like. DSS has agents that fit into every kind of appearances. They have agbero looking agents, they have agents that look like students, they even have agents that are stunningly beautiful women. Was it not on this NL that people were recounting experiences with DSS agents in NYSC camps? Or even PG schools in universities?

You're thinking all agents are gun-toting masked men that wear vests with DSS written on it. I'd not disbelieve that there were DSS agents inside the court that day. I am sure there were because they are an interested party.

It's not something they can't do. They'll just do it in a way that gives them room to deny if things go south. Like they've done. There's this Israeli unit that infiltrates Palestinian protests to instigate chaos and then identify and arrest targets. Intelligence agencies have a lot of dirty tricks.

Fine gentle man, let me take you up.
Let me start with the Revolution issue.

In 2015, Sowore, Buhari, Tinubu and co all used the word Revolution, but Jonathan didn't arrest any one. Because he believed in freedom of speech, expression and association. Jonathan used his brain to realize that the Revolution they meant was Revolution against corruption and other mitigating issues, so there was no need to waste state resources to witch hunt perceived enemies.

Secondly, not all personnels are heavily built. The guy in the video who held him down is definitely not heavily built, but surely has fitness and strength, a sure requirement.

Please get your self together for the journey of backwardness we have started, I am already mindset myself to endure ds shame for the next four years.

After all Jonathan warned us.

The same revolution was used by this APC government when there were still the opposition party, why wasn't there any arrest?

The law at many instances have been manipulated or interpreted to suit personal idea or thought. Everyone has a right to freedom of expression but what APC does not guarantee is the freedom after expression.

Just as this case, DSS filed a case in court and after 41 days of permitted investigation, court granted Sowore bail but he wasn't released. They filed a different case on some count charges against Sowore at a different court, he was granted bail but they didn't honour this. Rather, they held him for 125 days before his release while acting as a parallel court.

Even after releasing him, they still want to rearrest him on another count charges, does this make sense?

Let's even assume that there wasn't any drama in court, do they have any right to rearrest him? This has always been their usual style - release, rearrest and detain.

Tell me if the rule of law is respected.
