I've been hearing so many scary things about the wrong type of birth certificate, please this is the birth certificate I have, is it the acceptable one at the US embassy or do I still need to get the attestation of birth stuff?

Hi guys, Thought I should ask this question here. Several times in the 2years, I have been applying for a student visa to the US and have been granted. In those times, I have never indicated that I have been married in my application (even though I was then). Currently I am officially divorce and my fiance in the US want to come down to Nigeria and we're already talking about her filing a k-1 visa for once she comes and goes. My question is if she wants to apply for a k-1 visa for me, does she need to indicate that I have been divorced? (she knows that I am divorce) I will be grateful if anyone can offer a response to this. Thanks alot house. |

Treasureprince1: @Treasureprince I was advised by National population commsion staff to get "Attestation of birth certificate" since I was born before 1992 . So I have to go for the "Attestation of birth certificate instead of the small green birth certificate and then authenticated it at ministry of foreign affairs. 1 Like |

@ Legitbachelor, Sharpman, sukey and other elders in the house Pls I need a clarification with respect to this medicals. Must the medicals fall within the 2 weeks of once interview? Because the available appointment dates I got when I tried to schedule a date for my medicals will be 3weeks plus 5 days to my interview. Here are my questions (1) has anyone gone for an interview with his/her medicals done up to 3 weeks or upto a month to his/her interview date (2) Does it have any negative impact? 1 Like |

Few advices to those who would be coming soon. If you have a degree, get in touch with your school and request transcript to avoid stories that touch, learn an IT language eg java, python, JavaScript. Americans are most conservatives, read about your state (some states are still racists o). Be wary of your environment, malls, crowds. Here it is deh your deh make I deh my deh. For those who just got in, if you need something from your neighbor, ask them first(them like their personal space o). Successful interviews and approval to those upcoming. Happy hols. 9 Likes |

Re: USA Fiancee (K1) Visa Thread by Study4life: 6:17am On Dec 10, 2019 |
brownesugar: @Brownesugar I authenticated my attestation of birth certificate at Ministry of foreign affairs Abuja. But find out if it can be authenticated in Ministry of foreign affairs, Lagos. But since some people that were born in the 80's said that they used the small green birth certificate from NPC at the Embassy, then I think u should relax. I was only advised to get the Attestation of birth since I was born before 1992 because on that attestation of birth certificate it stated that. "This falls beyond the coverage of the Act No.69 of December, 1992( which is the small green birth certificate) for inssuance of birth certificate. In the light of the above information gratefully accept this birth attestation letter in respect of...........My Names."" So based on the above information it means I am supposed to have the Attestation of birth certificate. In case u have to get the Attestation of birth certificate, you have to go to a high court to get an affidavit of age declaration that u will present at National population commission, is a requirement. 2 Likes 1 Share |

brownesugar: That’s the same one I have. I am getting the attestation done at NPC Surulere. Actually going to pick it up in an hour. From what I’ve read, the short form Birth Cert is not recognised by the CO. I advise you get the attestation done as well. Cheers... 2 Likes |

SmartKitty: Okay, one more question please. In my case, I have applied several times to the US and I never stated it in all my applications that I was married. Now if she fill this info in the K-1 application, and during the Interview, the VO request to see the marriage certificate, and notices that I have been married before I started applying for the study visa in the past and never stated it, do you think it can cause a problem for me? Thank you very much. |
Re: USA Fiancee (K1) Visa Thread by brownesugar: 4:08pm On Dec 10, 2019 |
disguy1: Thanks @ disguy will do same by end of this week but another thing now is that do we still need to authenticate it?cos a npc thread i read pple were authenticating documents especially if its purpose is for immigration,my question is that been reading that its only ministry of foreign affairs in Abuja that has power to authenticate doc is it true?cant it be done in their lagos office ?to Abuja its not moi moi matter oo kindly advise appropriately...also do u have a link at npc that can help fast track at npc office in surulere lagos..thank you |
