It is all bound to happen and every event that occurred at that time justifies its direct cause, only the larger picture looks distorted. You don't expect the Hausa's to sit back after watching the murder of their political leader (sorry no excuse can cover for that), and we cant as well have the igbo sit back and watch the lose of about 30,000 lives of their own out of sheer genocide ( Hausa's ought had limits). Its just history, there is always a story to tell. So we choose if best to dwell on the past and allowing voice of ghosts seeking revenge to haunt and direct us or we prepare to rewrite the stories anew ahead of an unborn future. 1 Like |

Germi9: Well, any other tribe that bears Osakwe may have borrowed the name from Igbo. Anambra and Anioma area of Igboland are synonymous with Osakwe. From Nnewi, Oraifite, Onitsha, Ogbaru and Anioma bears the name. One of the richest Nnewi families are the Osakwes. Osakwe is the short form of Olisakwe. Osaji also is the short firm of Olisaji. Hope you know it now |

AyakaDunukofia: Na wa for your ignorance sha. The Edos ruled the igbos historically. Eze, Ada, Okoro and so many names you prapple bear today have their roots in the Edo language. Unfortunately, the black men being their own wirse enemies have penchant for rewriting history when that history glorifies his neighbours more than him. My dear we dash una any name wey una borrow. Unfortunately thise names acts as everlasting tags to the history you all doctored. Go and ask the Obi of Onitsha if his ancesstory is not bini. The bonus civilized the whole of the south, west and east of Nigeria. You people should deal with this past. If you don't know, we know 1 Like 1 Share |

PrecisionFx: NCNC was the dominant party in the East, AG in the West and NPC in the North, the first political collabo in the history of post independence Nigeria was between the Eastern party and the northern party and today you will see some people accusing Yorubas of betraying the south by the collabo of ACN and CPC. During the first coup, prominent politicians of the Northern, Western & Mid Western Region were murdered (Tafawa Balewa, Ahmadu Bello and SL Akintola and Festus Okotie eboh ) meanwhile two major politicians from the East ( Azikiwe and Michael Opara) all escaped the coup that was perpetrated by majorly Ibo military officers. The coup according to report was expected to remove the ruling class but the a particular region had its people escaped. 1 Like |

Hello House, There was a time we analysed Ojukwu's exile me and my friends and we realised one thing. There was an air and sea blockade of Biafra reducing the land area of Biafra to a small area, which makes it easy for enemy to monitor Biafran Airplanes leaving the Biafran Airspace that was why it was easy to shoot down relief planes bringing food supplies to Biafrans, hence my take on this is that Ojukwu's exile was aided by the British because the British didn't want the reconciliation to be complicated by Ojukwu's capture and execution because it might make him a martyr and transform the war to a bitter long dragged guerilla battle. Hence it is most plausible and likely that the british aided his exile by creating a window of opportunity to fly from Uli airstrip and evade Nigerian MIGs. Because i have analysed the war memoirs of all the actors from both sides and a wise military historian would realise that there was no way a plane would take off from Uli airstrip without being spotted by enemy MIGs trying to enforce air blockade since they had reduced the airspace of biafra with the blockage and as such it was easy to monitor. There are so many secrets of the civil war that if we find out we would realise that we shouldn't be enemies with one another especially in the south. That is my theory though. |

Zik heard about the coup n fled. Anu mpama akintola heard about the coup and told balewa. Akintola also told Ahmadu bello. 3 of them refused to use their head. There were all murdered. Micheal okpara had the president of Cyprus during the coup period and that saved his life. Meanwhile Kaduna Chukwuma Nzeogwu the Mastermind or leader of the coup is not an igbo man. The 1966 Jan coup was never an igbo coup, Thank God ur own brother Major Ademoyega who was part of the coup clearly said so. Keep lying. |

gidgiddy: Rubbish, Ojukwu fought for his own stupidity and not for your freedom. Infact the Igbos lost a lot after the war. Before the war you control the SS&SE, but after the war you are confined to just 5 ravaged states. Before the war you control the oil in that region, after the war you are left with nothing. Ojukwu is a coward, rather than give his people freedom, he made them become slaves and second class citizens. Since 1967 till now, the Igbo man have been shouting marginalization and ya’ll crying like a toddler that the Hausa/Fulani should give you a new country. I wouldn’t have responded to you if you had not brought the Yorubas into this! 1 Like |

PrecisionFx: This is total rubbish. Zik is a snitch and a coward, he heard about the coup and ran away without notifying his colleagues. The army had what they called N1 - N5. Nzeogwu made sure he killed the Yorubas within that hierarchy so that they can only be left with Ironsi. It is an Igbo coup, will always be an Igbo coup, and history will preserve this information as long as the earth exists. Accept the wrong of your progenitors and stop trying to defend their sins against Nigeria and humanity. 1 Like |
