Wanted to ask with respect to deposits in one's account beyond salary amount. How far back should those deposits be before u dont have to explain them? For example, applying towards end of decenber but have an unexplained deposit on October 10th. Though there have been deposit and withdrawal transactions of that amount in d account before.

As the deposit is in October, more than 2 months to visa application, does it still need to be explained? If yes, if it is explained as repayment of a loan offered to a friend (there is evidence of transfer to the friend 2 months earlier), what will be acceptable evidence of this repayment? A letter of agreement between them? Especially if there is no trail from the friends bank account as deposit was from Applicants own account in a different bank not being submitted for the application. Money was actually from sis in law which could be explained as a gift deed but I was wondering how a gift deed would look for a fully employed person earning a good salary. Kindly advise.

Thank you ooo. Na so a friend made be carry a full bag of garri and beans. So annoying

Emtek:
These things are in Canada and affordable. You can buy palm oil (& other items you listed) from any African store around you. There’s no need bringing them. (Though palm oil is a bit pricey).

Hello Gurus in the house,

I’ve been reading through this thread and I find it very insightful.

Congratulations to all those who have received their approval and to those whose approval is on the way.

Please and please I need your help.

I applied online for spousal open work permit since mid September and up till this moment my application hasn’t progressed beyond the initial background checks. I sent ircc a CSE a while back and they responded yesterday that they will treat my application within the shortest possible time frame.

But sincerely, the wait is tiring and I am sad to admit that I’m losing faith in the application. And so I would like to explore other options in case of a negative eventuality.

I would like to know if I can process a visitor visa while my SOWP application is still running.

I work here and my husband works in Canada with a PGWP. We just got married and we didn’t even have our honeymoon before he returned.

What are the possibilities? What would you guys advice we do?

Please help @ozzz

Thank you

Thank you for the encouragement.

I just got anxious because my application hasn’t moved past the initial stage and that of others who submitted long after I did are close to completion. I know no two applications are the same but I’m sad and worried and sick of waiting for God knows how much longer and for what outcome. cry

But thank you for your advice

Good day house,

Please i need advise on the best course of action

I am single mum (PR holder of Canada), i will be leaving Nigeria for Canada finally in Feb 2020 God willing. I am thinking of applying for a visiting visa for my sister to go along with us(me and my child) and spend about a month or so, just to ease the stress of settling down

She currently works and earns about 170k monthly and has been with her current firm for about her year. She has her own personal savings of about 1.5m, but since its my preposition to travel with us, i intend to cover all the cost associated with her visa and travel

Our parents are late and our last born is schooling in Canada at the moment, so basically she will have no economic ties to Nigeria except her job

Is it worth it to apply for a visa? and no, she has no intention to over stay her visa if granted, cos she is writing ielts in Jan and will start her own PR application.

If so, can someone please point out the requirements for visa application .

Thanks

@dtush, understanding you right, you have landed and gotten your PR card or you will do that in March next year?

If you are fully a PR , you can easily do an invitation letter for her to include in her application including your scanned PR card, Utility bills reciept etc Don't forget to state that you are sponsoring her in the letter

NOTE: Hope she has travel history.

Then ties to naija, her employment letter, leave letter, bank statement, pay slip, land documents in her name, cac docs of business she could be running on the side, return ticket showing arrival to naija before work resumption, then maybe an event to attend in Nigeria with evidence, could be a friends wedding invitation, a church program , a medical appointment could be dental in naija etc anything that makes you home bound after your specicified stay.

Hope this helps.....

Hello Ozzz, thanks for the response. I already my PR, got it since last year and moving finally next year Feb/Mar, so the only thg i can add is my PR card. Since i have not established residency yet (just went for soft landing last year), i dont have utility bills and other to add, although i did file my tax last year. and no travel history at all

She doesnt have landed property or anythg like dat. But i will work the event to add in Nigeria bit.
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Ozzz: 3:06pm On Dec 11, 2019
If your sis doesn't have travel history she has a slim or no chance of getting a visa according to the trends these days will advise she travels even if it's ghana, so that she can get border stamps in and out via bus route , I say bus because you will go through some countries accumulating stamps to and fro. But then again miracles happen...

Hope this helps
