U can check out the datasheet for the 2v 200ah(though it's gel opzv) just have a look.

This you mentioned isn't sold nor available in Felicity company down here in Nigeria !

I think you should disconnect the ac input side, then check it for any faults with your multimeter when you power it on

I ended up resolving this by swapping the output live and neutral wire.thus load% dropped to zero on idle, from a constant battery draining 28%

Yes, u are right, but it's a food for thought. This battery is meant for real off grid. If I can't afford lithium based battery for solar, then the alternative is 2v lead acid(for off grid o! Not "ups"wink

Hello house, been a while.

Pls I have a set up similar to this.

2 250- watt solar panels
220ah luminous battery and
A 40 ah mppt charge controller.

When I changed my controller from pwm to mppt, I was getting harvest of around 85 ah per day, that was around July last year.

But since around October last year to today, the harvest has dropped sharply to about 35 ah per day.

What could be the issue?

So I washed the panels as advised and changed the position of the two panels putting one on the east side and the other on the west site in an inverted 'v' format, aligning with the top of the roof, now the harvest has improved to about 60AH.

My question is: is this the optimum I can get for this set up? There is a guy with a similar set up here who claims he gets a full charge everyday

This may sound elementary but how accurate is the measuring device? Have you benchmarked against another known good value?

The measuring device is the MPPT charge controller itself.

Good morning Ogas.. Pls what is 50% DOD voltage in a case where I use 2pcs of 12v 200ah battery. A full charge (at float) is 27.6v. What voltage will be the battery be at 50% DOD ?
I want to know so that I can maintain my batteries properly.

Thanks a lot, but was thinking that 50% DOD would be half of 27.6v, which is 13.8v?

Not really...because 50% DOD for 12v battery is around 12.1v not 6v.

Again how many kwh is my solar panel supposed to generate on the average. This morning it was around 27.8kwh this morning by 6am..Now it's past 1 and the cumulative reading is 29.5kwh.. That means the harvest is 1.7kwh.. It's a 1200 solar panel set up with epever charge controller 40a and 2pcs 200ah battery. Is the harvest okay?

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by NiyiOmoIyunade(m): 2:00pm On Dec 12, 2019
A 12v lead acid battery will generally take a charge (absorb) between approx 14.0 and 15.0volts, float at between 13.6 and 13.8volts.

The 12v is just a nominal figure to describe the battery with.

After the battery is fully charged, if you remove all charging sources and all loads (open circuit) you will see the battery at between 12.7 and 13.1volts.

Apply a load, and you will see the battery begin to drop from 12.7volts (100% all the way down to 10.5volts (0%).

Lead acid batteries don't like to go below 12volts (50% DoD) under load.

So the useful range of a 12v battery is between 12.7v and 12v. Multiply the 12v figures by 2 for a 24v system and by 4 for a 48v system.

All these are general ranges - some battery voltages may be higher or lower than this spec.

Are they connected in series or parallel?

This will enable us know whether it is a 12v or 24v system.

it's in series if that means side by side connection. It's 2 pcs of 12v 200ah battery and a 2.5kva /24v prag inverter

the rule of thumb is 300 to 500% of installed solar array capacity, so btw 3.6kwh to 6kwh, on a sunny day, all things being equal
note that your batt bank can only take abt 5kwh,to charge to full if empty. so unless your bank is very depleted or you run some heavy loads [dont exceed 500w - 700w on a sunny day} you might not have room to accept the harvest from your panels

What?!

So what is supposed to be my harvest(in amps pls) for a 500 solar panel and 220 AH battery.

I have never gotten a full charge on a single day, in fact today, I harvested 60AH again.

Is this the best I can hope for?
