These socialist leaders need to stop. This ridiculously dumb idea because it's too expensive, the unemployment rate is sky high, and it could incentivize not working. If your stipen is more than a janitorial job why go to work for example. 1 Like |

Blue3k:It is a welcome idea and long overdue .All developed countries give unemployment benefits to their citizens to cushion the effect of hardship. The unemployment benefit can never replace real work in the sense that Unemployment benefits is like 1/2 of the real salaries you can earn when you have a real job under the minimum wage. In sweden where the minumum wage is 13,000 Sek, Unemployment benefit is like 6,500 or more depending on the family size. In Nigeriás case it could be around N6,500- 10,000/month |

cocolacec: A permanent welfare state requires huge taxes increases. Dont protest when they come to collect. The politicians said the want to cover q living wage. What they should focus on is fixing the structural issues with Nigerian economy. Look into tax reform, regulations and increading infrastructure spending. 4 Likes 1 Share |
