tony5:There is really no course that that is not lucrative ... they just have different market size and entry requirements. I will say Sport Science is also big here but because you will mostly be dealing the native Germans, it will be like a MUST for you to PERFECT your German proficiency ... even if you are to focus on the Marketing and Business aspects. If you take football (one sport) for instance, German professional football league starts from league 4 and depending on your city, the amateur levels can go as far as League 10. So that is enough opportunities for you volunteer, intern and work but might be hard if your German proficiency is not good. DE also have the likes of Adidas, Puma , Jako etc. sport wear companies in case you chose not to focus on the contact/physical part. 3 Likes 1 Share |

MarkGud: You can try msc Global Software Engineering from Fulda Uni. Its quite comprehensive. It also gives you what the job market already demands, straight to the point. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Summarily, what the last two pages has advocated is to drop what you love and go for what is in vogue. Well, I understand. I’m currently studying here in Germany as well. Masters. Global Political Economy and Development. And I like it. So what do we in the social sciences do? |

austino677:I won't say it is impossible since it is also a job, you might just have to keep to the normal approved 20hrs/week meant for student. However, you will need to convert your Nigeria driving license (I suppose you have one) to that of DE if you have not before now (no matter how much and long that might take). You will also need to get the appropriate "taxi" license and register in your city... I don't know how far UBER and government issue in other cities.. but it is presently only available in very few cities.. 1 Like |

Hi all, For studying in Germany, I suggest to get in touch with the University's faculty's student associations directly. They provide better responses that if you'd contact the generic university pages. FYI, I am from Gambia and currently working for a local German employment company: https://universalhires.com/solutions/employer-of-record-eor-peo-germany/. We currently look for interns in our Berlin office to assist with BD for German companies going to Africa. If you have any questions on getting started in Germany as a student, feel free to PM me. I'd be happy to help! Best, Sam 6 Likes 1 Share |

[quote author=0yewale post=84814040] Hi bro , Please in which school did you study digital Engineering?.. I'm planning to apply for the course. Thanks A former colleague (A Medical Dr.), we met at a Health-Tech company, took the Medical Informatics MSc in Deggendorf and still works as a Data Scientist there. I (Chemical Engineer) even though with previous experience as a Software Engineer in NG before coming to DE had to switch to IT related program(Digital Engineering MSc) - after 'investing' two semesters studying MSc Chemical Engr. before "my eye open" which has now led me to IT positions in few of the biggest firms in DE .. during and after my study. |

Hello everyone, I finally met with the career adviser of my school, a young and beautiful lady. She asked me why I want to leave a prestigious school like RWTH Aachen University to start a BSc program at 29yrs old? I told her that I want a degree with which I can easily get professional job after graduation, a degree that has more opportunities in Germany and that's why I want to change to computer science. She said that there are opportunities in my course and most courses in Germany if I possess the right skills and speak the langauge well, that I don't necessarily need to start afresh from BSc. That even if I want to go into IT field, I should learn the skills of interest somewhere in Germany or even online while still undergoing my MSc program, that German companies usually employ you base on what you can do and that's why you see graduates of Microbiology working in the IT firm simply because they possess the right skills. She said that RWTH Aachen university is among the best schools in Germany with all the facilities at my disposal to learn and become an employable person and also has a good link to the industry, that I shouldn't waste that opportunity. She asked me if I have started learning German langauge and I said yes, she replied ''TOLL, if you learn at least one level every semester, that will be atleast B2 before 2 years which meets up the entry requirement of all vacancies'' She ended the discussion by saying that Germany welcomes everyone but selects the good ones, that if I want to be selected, I must be good in what I do. I have never seen a young girl such wise and calm in speech. I think I will book another appointment with her sef 26 Likes 6 Shares |

Goztino: Thanks for sharing, Goztino! What the career advisor said is plausible! There are some persons who studied Applied Geoscience/Geophysics and are working as Field Engineers over there in Germany. In fact, a Master's student from ETH Zürich (a Swiss) came to do his internship in Nigeria and told me about the Joint Master's program. In his words, "Programming is a piece of cake for those guys in Geophysics department" That is the reason you always find some Geoscientists in the data science field, because all they do is basically making predictions from an observed set of data. Whoever said the sky was the limit probably didn't know there was a universe. Kudos, Goztino! I'll see you at the top. 8 Likes 2 Shares |
