If I answer your question, won't you think I am as dumb as you are grin grin

You that don't even know what is LEU and HEU. You don't even know when a nuclear Fuel is classified as enriched or low. You know nothing about the research reactor in Nigeria and how it operated.

Same you that now want to ask me question about Nuclear Energy? grin grin
Im not a Nuclear scientist of any sort but my line of work has carried me close to them facilities. The issue of a nuclear reactor when it comes to generating electricity is very simple, same as gas and coal, however for people who are not in the know it sounds sophisticated and they assume all sort and u sound like one of them ones in teh school of though!

both of you are silly....how you generate energie from nuclear plants....
that is a very silly question....

a expert wouldnt even bother to answer you sef....
Oga dont join a fight you know nothing about ,i am just concerned with our governments poor safety , carelessness and extremely poor maintenance culture with other less dangerous infrastructures , compared to maning a nuclear reactor biko!

Did you see me discuss anything of power production? learn to read well and mind your business.

Of course I know you are not.

What you should be bothered about is Nuclear Waste. Nuclear Power plants itself does not pose any risk to anyone except when there is a natural disaster as we saw in Fukushima Daiichi and Chernobyl. It's built with high regulations.

Nigeria already has a road map to it's nuclear energy, I doubt they will follow it. The contract is for Rosatom to build, manage and handover to Nigerians. However, all cost implication is on RosAtom. Lol, bad anyway.

When a country wants to go into Nuclear power, IEAE first gives them license to operate a Nuclear Reactor.
It's the first stage.
You are not qualified to discuss this topic with me
You mean IAEA...

Do you really no what nuclear power station is?
Even in advanced countries there's a lot of debate on their safety. A single flaw in the process can wipe a whole nation not to talk of the long term residual effects. You should look up Chernobyl to have an idea. Nuclear disasters when they occur are not just hazardous to the environment but all forms of life.
nuclear power is the safest, what causes the disaster are human errors trying to experiment, other forms of power produces green house gases which in turn destroys the ozone layer and the sun rays directly hits us giving us cancer, they even cause acid rains which is detrimental to our health.
Also the nuclear power is easier to operate than other forms of power.
It also gives a stable and predictable power supply than the rest. Hydro electricity is not much, wind and sun can't even boast of 24hrs power supply.
Nuclear is so efficient and important that it alone accounts for 30% of the world power supply.
It produces few wastes than the rest.
This is what a growing population like Nigeria needs
Protesting against it is like protesting that we shouldn't av air ports because plane crash can kill 100 persons even if they tell you it is the safest means of transportation.
Face ur fear bro, we are going nuclear.
Merry Xmas in advance

Nuclear power have come to stay and its time for us to embrace it, there is no harm in trial!

Ah Chairman, there is every harm in TRIAL. A nuclear process, once started, cannot be stopped. It's irreversible. You cannot have any small mistakes. Have u heard of the Chernobyl and other disasters? Germany that is winding down their nuclear stations cannot quench the nuclear process. They are just burying it under thick concrete and salt domes. I am truly afraid for Nigeria. Let senate look at solar and wind. Those are also safe and cleaner sources.

Do they really know what Nuclear energy is?We have clean and renewable source of energy that we can invest in heavy and rip the rewards later but no we are looking at Nuclear energy that can have fallout which can lead to annihilation and also the waste from it which if not handle well lead to serious health complications up to generations yet unborn

Nigerians can't maintain a nuclear power plant..
