They should improve on their services by adopting world best practices. Get a bigger aircraft and charge your passengers accordingly for extra luggage where necessary.

I went to Abuja Airport last night to wait for the arrival of my 4 siblings from Istanbul. After the arrival of the aircraft, I waited for my siblings for over an hour before they came out to meet me. And they all wore long faces. When I saw them, I knew something was wrong, that was when they started complaining that they had waited to collect their luggage, but after an hour, the Turkish airlines official grudgingly came to tell them that their luggages were left behind and that they should drop their phone numbers through which they would be contacted when their luggage arrive. It is so embarrassing and a big let down. We are contemplating on suing the airline and the Nigerian FAAN.

I flew BA last month after about 5years. I had abandoned the airline because of the harsh treatment to mete out to Nigerians especially on their economy class. Back then when you fly BA to the US, when you change planes at Heathrow, you will think you are moving from "Molue" to "Luxurious Bus". At wifey's insistence and after a horrible experience with another crap airline (Air Italy), I had to do BA. I was pleasantly surprised that they have upped the game for the Lagos-London route.

If we begin to share stories of shitty treatment Nigerians get on some of these Airlines, you will be shocked what people go through.

This is long over due,those guys treat black people like shit,you need to see what they do to Africans at their airports causing them to miss flights and they refuse to put them on the next flight.They will give you phones to call your people to send you money to buy another ticket. They tried that with me in 2015 and I created a scene causing them to put me on another flight for the next day,I have to sleep in the airport till morning and met Africans and Indians who have been there for 2 weeks.

Very good, a friend is still waiting for his luggage after 4 months of arrival. Now they are bargaining on how to pay him for the loss.
This why I cherish emirate, their service is exceptional. Even as a Muslim state aircraft, they serve me plenty of Alcohol to keep away the fear of flying

This is a good development and a long overdue action from the government. The Turkish Airline is notorious for this bad habit, and I feel it is because they feel they can do as they please in Nigeria. This very thing happened to me in 2012 when I was traveling to Nigeria for a wedding with the suits and shirts for the groom's men, and I happened to book Turkish Airline. Only for me to get to Lagos and be told that my luggage had not arrived. This has never happened to me with any other airline.

At another time, this same Turkish Airline, I was on my way to Europe and was to change flight at Istanbul. The flight was postpone by almost a day because of poor weather condition, and the airline decided it would lodge us at a hotel in Istanbul. They then told us we must bring money to pay for Turkish visa since we would be sleeping over within the city. I told them no, my intention was never to visit Turkey as a country. That I had already suffered a delayed flight and it would be exploitative of them to ask me to pay for a Turkish visa that was useless to me. After several hours of this they caved in, paid for the visa, and lodged us...

I'm not going to comment in the quality of their services to African passengers coming to Nigeria. If you are flying within Europe, they offer one of the best on-deck services you can get anywhere. But the moment they are headed towards Africa, it is a completely different thing starting with the absence of simple flight comfort in their carriers.

Bro I came in on the 28th November which is Thursday. We landed at exactly 11:23pm(Abuja Airport).before I could get to Luggage collection point people are already fighting the Immigration officials,Turkish airline officials were no where to be fnd.not even 20% of passengers luggage came in.my 2 check in luggage didn't get.i was so mad that I wanted to slap the Immigration officer but at a point I have to control my anger.it was on Friday night that we all came back to pick up our luggage.so many people have to lodge in a hotel because they couldn't continue with their journey on that Thursday night because of their luggage. TURKISH PEOPLE ARE ONLY DOING THIS TO NIGERIANS. IF THEY TRY IT WITH EUROPEANS, THEY WILL PAY DAMAGES UNTIL THE AIRLINE FOLDS.

You should have slapped the immigration officer if you won't be detained for life, what business has immigration got to do with your baggages? It's only in Nigeria you will see most Nigerians the moment they arrive on any international trip they behave like gods.

i just checked flightrader Turkish airlines does not operate a small plane to Nigeria.according to route plans IST - LOS (mma) they have A330-300 ans A330-200 these are wide-bodies airplanes they are big birds.i am not sure why those bags are missing ..in aviation it is practically illegal to travel without your bags..they are crossed checked at boarding..the most way to miss your bag is if the baggage tag fell off ...this is strange if it re-occurring
