In the early 80s the FG set up three plants with foreign partners VON in Lagos, PAN in Kaduna and Annamco in Anambra. There is nothing Igbo about Annamco |

You missed it again, it's not only Lagos Igbos reside and buy up landed properties. Its everywhere there is peace for doing normal business. Lagos was former capital of Nigeria and so people trooped to search for means of survival. Even before the war there were plenty Igbos in Lagos. But after the war they have also established even in the peaceful part of North. The North is very hostile to visitors if not they would have become tenants to the Igbos cos land was cheap. As we are speaking here if you put up your father's land tomorrow for sale don't be surprised an Igbo man will be among the first two asking for the sale. Bear with them as they tend to migrate to where businesses thrive. They build homes everywhere they live and if you refer to that as developing those places then that's exactly what it is. Meanwhile have you gone round lagos and check out the areas Igbos brought life to. Name any major Business location in Lagos let's do fact checks YorubaPrince: |

Deepfeel: Well, action speaks louder than words! You can come on here and wail all you want but, the reality remains that Igbos are and will always be 2nd/3rd class citizens to Yoruba and other major 9ja tribe(s). A region that can't develop their own place, where the citizens emigrate to other regions in search of greener pastures is definitely undeveloped. You guys are all striving to get an Oduduwa citizenship and greencard by trying so hard to marry Yoruba guys.... The rich and well-to-do Igbos know better to respect their landlords (Yorubas) which is exactly what they're doing else, they know the consequences. Yorubas hold the ULTIMATE rights to every Igbo property in the SW. The same way Awolowo ended up feeding your pple and gave them peanuts to survive. We're the ULTIMATE and SUPRERIOR tribe! We and smart Igbos among you know better. It's urchins like you that come online to wail. 3 Likes |

You better leave that side cos how Awolowo ended up without going to war is an act of cowardice. Meanwhile when you own any property in ECOWAS go and read how it's protected. So even if Biafra is declared today no Igbo man will lose any single property within the ECOWAS region. You need to travel to the east to see the kind of houses your age mates are building in their homelands even while residing in Lagos or other areas where he thrives in his business. There is no difference between a Yoruba Landlord and an Igbo Landlord in Lagos. No trespassing no intimidating. The only thing Igbos won't do in Yoruba land is contest for Baale or any other local titles. There is no second class or third class citizens in Nigeria unless you feel that it's a factor of whose region becomes the president. Some single individuals in Igbo land are richer and will be richer than Buhari. Get that fact straight YorubaPrince: |

Omoodua007: In many ways the 800 trucks is actually a better deal, as it's a huge boost to local, indigenous manufacturing. Anammco will go on to do bigger things based on the earnings from this deal. They will need ancillary private sector services established to support them etc etc... Meaning industrial boost. Industrialisation. Diversification from oil is the only way to grow this economy. Our annual budget is only 35 billion USD a year. South Africa's is 125 billion USD. Why? Because oil and gas is our only serious income earner. SA sells gold and other metals, sells aluminium, sells manufactured goods in a big way, and sells services, eg MTN, Shoprite etc. We need that. Here are South Africa's top ten exports: 1 Gems, precious metals: US$16.6 billion (17.5% of total exports) 2 Ores, slag, ash: $11.8 billion (12.5%) 3 Vehicles: $10.8 billion (11.4%) 4 Mineral fuels including oil: $10 billion (10.6%) 5 Iron, steel: $6.3 billion (6.7%) 6 Machinery including computers: $5.8 billion (6.2%) 7 Fruits, nuts: $3.7 billion (3.9%) 8 Aluminum: $2 billion (2.2%) 9 Electrical machinery, equipment: $1.8 billion (1.9%) 10 Plastics, plastic articles: $1.4 billion (1.5%) http://www.worldstopexports.com/south-africas-top-10-exports/ 1 Like |

shugamummy: Speaking of Coward... Since you're an Okoro savage, I'll assume you don't know the meaning of Coward. Lemme help you with that. Google "Coward". "A person who lacks the courage to do or endure dangerous or unpleasant things. "they had run away—the cowards!" So, now tell me... Who left his innocent and mere civilian people to defend themselves after making so much noise? Who ran away after the Gallant OBJ and Nigeria soldiers closed in on him? Who disguised and dressed as a lady to escape from fellow soldiers in the form of ever gallant OBJ and other Nigerian Soldiers? Who eventually came had to beg to come back to Nigeria (after >2 million of his people were killed due to his noise-making and cowardice) so as to come back ONLY to now marry the daughter of his best friend? Who arrogantly boasted, bragged, made noise, chest-beat about wiping out Nigeria in a twinkle of an eye and yet, couldn't withstand the heat when it got tough? Who strategically killed the gallant and brave Major Patrick Nzeogwu (Yes, I respect that guy) due to the fear of his growing popularity among his people? Gen. COWARD OJUKWU and COWARD NNAMDI KANU! Yes. Go and read history! His stupidity cost your pple >2 million Okoro Savage lives. Just imagine! All cuz of this arrogance and noise-making you guys are known to make. I don't think I want to go further into much as I can see from the nonsense you wrote up there, you know nothing about nationalization. The moment the Savages get your Bia-Furo, that'll be the moment you guys require visa to come to Yoruba Land... You and I know better, don't we? Like I said earlier, it's ONLY the smart and rich ones among you Savages that know the consequences of bragging and making noise in Yoruba lands. It's best done online on a faceless forum. Even your most powerful pple dare not chest-beat in Yoruba Lands. 1 Like

shugamummy: I am not a tribal bigot, far from it. I applaud good work when I see it. It is your ipob brothers who see tribalism in everything to the point of extreme foolishness that I abhor. My point was simply that; what is the alleged technological breakthrough in assembly; whether trucks or motorcycles; that is to be kept secret from the 'rest of Nigeria'? Any halfway decent roadside mechanic can assemble a vehicle from scratch if you give him all the parts. And in any case, if Innoson had to depend entirely on the Eastern market for its sales so that its non-existent 'secrets' are not exposed, it would go bust very quickly. Innoson may be a great businessman, but that is not the point of discussion here, nor is he anywhere close to Dangote, Otedola, Adenuga or Alakija when it comes to business acumen. Business in reality has no go-to tribe. 1 Like |

RisenPhoenix: You are a complete ignoramus. First off, Innoson is a CAR MANUFACTURER. Get that into your thick skull. He has a fully equippped automated factory employing 7,000 Nigerians and manufacturing vehicles using 70% local inputs. Your idiotic reducing of his vehicle plant to a place for unpacking chinese parts ''which any roadside mechanic can do'', is repugnant and reeks of envy. One more thing, in the vehicle industry there is NO DISTINCTION between car manufacturing and car 'assembly'. They mean the exact same thing. All cars are ''assembled''. In fact the term for car manufacturing plants across the world is 'car assembly plants'. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_automotive_assembly_plants_in_the_United_States It is only in Nigeria people make a distinction, out of an inferiority complex that makes them disbelieve they can actually manufacture. Innoson may be a great businessman, but that is not the point of discussion here, nor is he anywhere close to Dangote, Otedola, Adenuga or Alakija when it comes to business acumen. Business in reality has no go-to tribe. Huge wealth does not equate to ''business acumen'', especially when such wealth is from unclear or illegitmate sources. Alakija for instance was Mariam Abacha's hairdresser who earned a few oil blocks because madam was impressed with her new hairstyle. Not much ''business acumen'' there! |
Re: Dangote Buys 800 Trucks From Anammco Assembly Plant In Enugu by 0monnak0da: 10:49pm On Dec 13, 2019 |
Rossikk:Is "business acumen" defined in the Bible or Quran? It is defined by RESULTS If you are an olosho and you use that to become a billionaire you have "business acumen" If You are a Professor at Harvard business school and retire after 30 years on a pension then you do not have business acumen There are hundreds of hairdressers in Nigeria only one of them became Alakija the billuionaire That is acumen it is not book sense but belle sense. There is a world of difference between assembly and manufacture Assembly is just a tiny part of manufacturing There is the design and engineering as well as research . Then the manufacture of the CKDs before assembly Your logic all "cars are assembled" is quite daft. 2 Likes |
Re: Dangote Buys 800 Trucks From Anammco Assembly Plant In Enugu by Nobody: 11:33pm On Dec 13, 2019 |
Rossikk: You can't even put two sentences together without adding an insult. Innoson producing 70% of its parts in Nigeria is total bs. Which 70%? Engines? Gearbox? Chassis? Onboard computer systems? Lol. Just a mere look at the design in comparison with Chinese models and you will see that they are total knock offs, only the logos are different. The whole argument is even moot because Anammco; where the trucks were bought; is totally an assembly plant. As for your personal opinion of Alakija, it does not even deserve a response; except that if one is silent, you will probably think you are right. Your nonsensical attempt at minimising the status of people like Alakija even negates your own point. For a 'hairdresser' to become a rich (3rd or 4th in Africa) and successful oil magnate requires much more business acumen than that required to go to China and get a license to assemble a knock off of their already copied models. I don't know why every gesture in the real world has to be given tribal connotations on NL by certain people. 1 Like |
