Truck driving is a profession and not hand work.

If you drive your own truck, you're self employed.

If you drive another person/company's Truck, you are an employee except the owner gives you the truck for you to be giving him daily or weekly "deliver". You are self independent but I rarely see this type of arrangement for Truck.

If you have two or more trucks and you give them out for people to be using it to make money for you. Then you will become employer of labour and Entrepreneur.

Though I did not have much knowledge about this line of profession and business, I have little things to write on. Currently, Truck business is very good and very risky. With careful drivers and good maintenance culture the risk is minimum. The main risk is involving in accidents that can make one loose his/her investment and be out of business. As a Truck driver, you are prone to be away from your family, spending most of your time on the road even during the night hours.

With your education, you may run look towards Truck consultancy services. Where you can connect to local truck owners and individuals/small company who needs their services. You will served as intermediary and be getting commission, most especially in the line of building and construction. My fear is that if the government after Buhari consolidate on his train investment, this line of business may become less attractive. But the consultancy will not be affected that much because the focus are local people and businesses.
