You don't need a visa but I believe you can get a cheaper fare to Atlanta with Emirates, Qatar and even BA.

Really! I will PM you soon. Thanks so much. You people are doing a really good job with this thread. I've been following anonymously since. I'm sure many people are like me.

I traveled to the U.S on November 22nd and returned on November 30th

POE experience. My destination was New York.
Arrived at JFK. I traveled with British Airways with a night stopover in London just to stay in a hotel, eat nice food and continue my journey
The queue was a bit long but moved fast.
Questions asked- my destination, how long I would be staying and what I do.
My response- One night in New York and three nights in Florida. I didn't know they would ask me for an address in Florida. I had booked an Airbnb so the address was on my phone, so I had to show her my phone. For a moment i was like waoh, i just handed over my whole phone to a CBP officer, but well i didn't really care.

Asked when last i was in U.S and how long i stayed, I said 2017 and just for a day. Asked what i did for living i told her i was a lawyer, then asked what kind of law, i said "commercial law".

Didnt ask me further questions and stamped me in till May 2020 but i left after 8 days.

Note that: destination filled on my DS160 was DC i think, but i usually don't remember details filled on my DS160.

All the best to intending travelers.

My POE experience was at Washington Dulles International Airport on December 13 2019.

I came in through Emirates and the flight was quite smooth, we did about 14 hours 30 minutes from DXB to IAD and arrived at 7:50am.

I was on queue for like an hour before I was called and this was the following conversation/interview.

CBP: Good morning, wetin dey shele? Make I see your passport
Me: Good morning, I dey kampe. How you dey too? (While giving her my Naija passport)
CBP: I full ground remain, o she. Oga Ade, wetin you come do for here?
Me: I say make I come do Christmas vacation here ni
CBP: How long you go stay?
Me: Just two weeks kpere
CBP: How much you get for your pocket?
Me: XXXX USD
CBP: Where you go spend the two weeks na?
Me: Na for Washington DC here o
CBP: Shey you get family, relatives or friends here?
Me: Mba o. Only people wey we go school together and I nor think say I go see them sef.
CBP: Oh okay .. How many bags you carry come?
Me: I get this one hand luggage and two other bags waiting for me inside
CBP: Wetin you get to declare? Fruits and Veg?
Me: No
CBP: Any food item like meat etc
Me: I get ponmo for inside my bag
CBP: Wetin be ponmo (she called the ponmo in their accent)
Me: Na cowskin
CBP: Oya spell am
Me: PONMO (She now pronounced it again). For my mind, I say shey na like that I call am for you ni

Na there things come change a little bit, I observed that a lady standing behind her was taking notes from the screen. In my mind, I say ghen ghen!

CBP: She now wrote on a form, put am inside my passport and then put all of them inside a small case. She then beckoned on one of their officials.
CBP: Ok, you go follow this man, dem wan ask you something.

Na so I found myself for secondary inspection ooo. Some minutes later dem don carry my bags come meet me there. So I waited for the next thing to happen. Meanwhile, I could hear Emirates airline calling for departure, na so one woman entered and asked us "How many of una follow Emirates come?". Myself and one old white woman answered her, she said "Shey dis people don answer you?" We said "Mba o". She come say make we wait small.

2CBP: Called out my name
Me: I dey here o
2CBP: Wey your bags
Me: Dem dey there
2CBP: Oya go carry them come
Me: I come bring the bags
2CBP: Wetin you say you get for inside the bags jare
Me: Na ponmo and some local herbs like that
2CBP: Are they dried?
Me: Yes na
2CBP: Oya put your bags on the screening machine make I see
Me: Did as he said
2CBP: Removed knife and carefully opened the bag, checked everything and brought out the kpomo
2CBP: If to say you nor mention say you carry kpomo and we discover it ourselves, we for fine you USD300. Oya pack your bags, I'm bringing your passport and you are good to go.

That was when my mind came down, I submitted the form to the officer outside the secondary inspection and the next thing I heard was "Welcome to the United States of America"

Na so I waka enter God's own country oooo. The cold wey welcome me na die but I'm enjoying every bit of time I've spent here so far!

Very important! Thought he was just going to run into some trouble with those 2 bags of his, since he wasn’t visiting anybody but on his own (if I got him right anyways). Maybe I got that wrong though....

Truly he wasn't visiting anybody per se but those bags are not big, less than 10kg I suppose.

o

Please stay away from hospitals and doctors Nigerians use. Just look for a good hospital. Don't ask for discount. Pay the regular bill. That's the only way you can guarantee a renewal.

Recently arrived ATL POE. It was a breeze. Always declare you have foodstuffs even if Na only groundnut. My flight was full of citizens, so we were very few on the immigration line.
Lastly HONESTY pays. Enjoy your trip and leave the country just like you told the VO.

I think he/she deliberately left out the name of the airline boarded..Could be for security reasons

I got to DC (IAD) on the 13th via KLM. Flight was good. Landed in DC about 5:30P and airport wasn't packed. I was in the line for maybe 5 mins until it was my turn.

Me: Hello
POE: Hand me over your passport and look into the camera (which I did)
POE: Where are you coming from
Me: Lagos Nigeria
POE: What are you here for
Me: I'm here to spend my Christmas vacation with my sister and her family
POE: How long are you here for
Me: Until Jan 2nd
POE: How much do you have on you
Me: I have $1,000 and my debit card
POE: Hands over my passort (6 months stamped)
POE: Enjoy your stay

By the way my luggage did not arrive. I was so pissed off. KLM said they will compensate me. I really don't care about that I just wanted my luggage, I got it 2 days later.

Happy New year @seyewest Thank you for doing a great job here. I will be flying with Emirates from MMA to JFK. I question is about baggage. I'm entitled to 2 check in bags and a hand luggage but will there b an issue if I add my backpack strapped at my back?

No issues, but ensure there's nothing not allowed on board in it, and be very moderate per its weight too.

No problem at all but look out for the weight.

Hello everyone.
Came in through IAD on the 31st via Egyptair with F1 visa. I got a very cheap flight . 248k
Everything was good but the official collected the herbs (wood) and my dried ilorin pomo. She said woods and meat are not allowed. I was sad but the way she was polite about it and all prevented me from looking at her one kind. It is very cold here at Baltimore.
