I'll be brief and simple with my narrative, I promise.
To the glory of God, I have just graduated from KOGI STATE UNIVERSITY (KSU) with a 2.2 CGPA in English and Literary Studies.

As a hustling guy ( now in my late 20's), it was God's grace that helped me pull through my studies in that, I lost my only surviving parent while I was about starting my studies. And that made me had it rough all through my stay in the University.

Now, I have successfully graduated and don't want to be entrapped in this state, Kogi, any longer. I'm pretty sure you all know what is up here in kogi state; everything appears so gloomy and I seriously need to be totally out of it at least, for the time being.

Since I'm just a hustler with no ready relation to nudge me, I seriously want to use the NYSC period as an avenue to get out of this State. I so much desire to stay back wherever I'm eventually posted to for Service; I need a place with a lot of job opportunities with respect to my course of study, English and literature. And that's where the knot is. Which region do you think is appropriate for me to achieve this desire of mine?

Some persons I shared this with specifically advised me to move up North East; they suggested States like Gombe and Bauchi, even Maiduguri while others suggested Ibadan or Lagos.

This is where I need your advice and suggestions because as it stands now, despite the fact I want to register early, I am helpless and wouldn't know the right states to select for NYSC when we'll be eventually directed to start registration early next year. And I just need to plan well against that day.

To you, which states with more job opportunities in Nigeria, do you think I could choose for my NYSC and also continue my life there afterwards?

P.S
I'm also a computer technician and will like to set up my business in the event of not getting anything to lay hands on after service. BUT NOT IN KOGI STATE!

Please, advise me.

Back to the matter at hand.I will want you to undastand one thing.most of these guys who are telling you to flow as it comes might not be sincere.while in camp, people told us nothing like walking your posting exist and I bought the idea.even my close friend in camp never gave me a hint.the day of posting came and I was alone.
The ones I will believe are the ones who said you should pray about it.but if you are not the spiritual type work your posting.I will say Enugu state because their are alot of good private school around which can serve as a foundation to life and considering the course you studied.
Another factor why I said Enugu is because you can husle not like lagos but you can husle there.I will also want you to consider going into business once you setle down in enugu.most preafarable getting food stuffs from north to enugu.this you will do as a side husle.since you are fron kogi it won't be a big deal.
I love the fact that you are really thinking ahead.I wish you all the best.

Please, advise me.

Those asking you to go north don't want anything good for you. I spent a fortune to get my posting to southwest....nothing is better than peace. Your safety should be more important than whatever job you need in life. Bokoharam kidnap people anyhow and they kill without mercy when gov't fail to respond to their need. You cannot blame gov't cos if gov't could attend to their demands, then Nigeria will be brought to her kneels cos their won't be money to run the country. Don't expose yourself to such risk. Secondly teaching job won't be hard for you to get in any state you found yourself ....I served in ogbomoso .....oyo state is General peaceful...Get yourself equipped with device that connects you to internet so that you can get information relating to jobs online..

You are a graduate of Kogi State University and I am guessing you are a Kogite, NYSC has a default posting of 80 percent kogites to the core north(my own observation though). If you want to get the best from your service year, please commit the whole process to God and watch him take the wheel. I assure you, God would surely connect you to your destiny helpers. Best wishes.

This is why Nigeria is in a mess. The guy asked for advice and your suggestion is that he commit himself to god are you insane. What has religion got to do with work placement?

If yu know the opportunities that abound in serving in a rural area, identify a problem and solve it and you could become a presidential awardee, with scholarship abroad up to PhD level and a federal government job. A couple of my friends got it plus life is cheap in less developed areas.

My advice for you is Lagos state is the best state for you to serve (when you have someone to stay with). If you do not have anyone to stay with or you are first timer in lagos, i would strongly advise you go to another state preferably Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Anambra, Kano or Abuja

Do not work your posting but dedicate that one year totally to God and ministry. Maybe a church but most importantly to humanity and soul winning. In these period, stay focused on the word of God and meditate daily on where you want to be after service. Pray without ceasing and lay out in prayers for hastened settlement.

After which, you will see the miraculous workings of God over your future.

CHOOSE OGUN STATE, I SERVED THERE 2009, IMMIDIATELY AFTER SERVICE I GOT BACK TO ABUJA 2010, THROUGH OUT THAT PRRIOD I WAS JUST RUNNING AN ERRAND FOR MY INLAW, I HAD NO CHOICE SINCE HE IS THE ONE HOUSING ME PENDING WHEN I WILL SECURE A JOB, I SAW THE JOB WAS NOT FORTH COMING, I HAD TO MOVE MY THINGS AND RETUNED TO OGUN STATE, I WAS SUTTLING BETWEEN OGUN AND LAGOS SERCHINH FOR JOB, FURTUNATELY I GOT A JOB IN LAGOS, HAD TO SOURCE OUT MONEY GOT A FACE ME I SLAP YOU, FROM THERE ON CHANGE TO A BETTER APARTMENT, ALONG THE LINE, I DISCOVERED THAT WITH THE LUTTLE SALARY I GET AND FOR ME TO LIVE A COMFORTABLE LIFE, I NEED TO MOVE BACK TO OGUN STATE, THAT WAS HOW I MOVED BACK TO OGUN STATE, I WAS COMING TO WORK FROM OGUN TO LAGOS, TODAY, TO GOD BE THE GLORY THE DECISION I TOOK HAS GREATLY PAID IN FOR ME. THE REASON WHY YOU SHOULD CHOOSE OGUN IS BECAUSE OF ITS PROXIMITY TO LAGOS, LIFE IS LESS EXPENSIVE THERE, WITH YOUR COMPUTER ENGINEERING KNOWLEDGE YOU CAN START UP SOMETHING IN HERE,AND ABOVE ALL, ASK GOD FOR DIRECTION.
