Rosenborg are in talks with their Danish counterparts FC Midtjylland over the permanent acquisition of Nigerian youngster Babajide David in the winter transfer market after he impressed whilst on loan with the Norwegian powerhouse in the 2019 season. According to Cedric Mazet, who handles the affairs of Babajide, his client is also on the wishlist of other European clubs and a return to Midtjylland for the second half of the season has not been entirely ruled out. "Babajide was on loan with Rosenborg, he still belongs to Midtjylland as his loan is finished. Everything is possible, '' said Mazet in an exclusive interview with allnigeriasoccer.com. ''Rosenborg are still in the race because they are pushing to sign him on a permanent deal but at the same time he has options in other countries like Belgium and Netherlands as well.'' The 23-year-old Babajide was one of Rosenborg's outstanding performers in the Champions League qualifiers and Europa League, contributing to 5 goals (2 goals, 3 assists) in 11 appearances combined in both competitions. ''His season at Rosenborg was very good, he did well against big teams in the Champions League qualifiers and Europa League. ''FC Midtjylland may want to keep him as well. We are in talks, exploring all possibilities and in January we will decide what to do,'' Mazet concluded. A product of FC Ebedei, David has enjoyed loan spells at Thisted, Jerv, FK Haugesund and Rosenborg since transferring to Midtjylland in 2014. |

With the high profile friendly match against Brazil two months ago still fresh in the mind, there are strong indications that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), is looking forward to keeping the momentum by organising top friendly matches for the Super Eagles next year. According to www.bsn.com.ng, former World Champions, Italy and Germany top the list national teams the Glasshouse wants to play friendly matches with the Super Eagles next year. The NFF will not be looking the way of countries below Nigeria in FIFA's ranking. The matches will come up during the FIFA's official windows. The FIFA's official or friendly windows are March 23-31, August 31-8 September, October 5-13 and November. 9-17. NFF General Secretary, Mohammed Sanusi spoke exclusively to Opera News: "We want to maximise the FIFA's windows by playing quality matches. It is not about playing matches but about quality opposition to strengthen the Super Eagles". The Nigerian national team will play qualifiers in the Africa Cup of Nations and World Cup next year. Sanusi said that the Eagles needed tough European opposition to keep them in shape. "It is fairly a long time since we played Italy and we will want to take them on again. We also need a friendly match against Germany", he enthused. "We are not interested in teams below us in FIFA's ranking. "There is one thing the friendly against Brazil did, it helps to boost and give Eagles the necessary confidence", he explained. Nigeria fell one nil to Senegal, held Ukraine to 2-2 draw before drawing Brazil one all in Singapore in their last friendly match. Before the World Cup finals in Brazil in 2014, Nigeria played 2-2 all in a build up match towards the finals. While Nigeria lost 1-0 to Germany in April 1998 in Cologne. 1 Like |

Nigeria U17 international Ibrahim Said has revealed his dream destination amid interest from clubs based in England, Scotland, Portugal and Belgium. The Dabo Babes attacking midfielder was Nigeria's top scorer at the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup, scoring 3 goals in 4 appearances before the Golden Eaglets exited the tournament in Brazil. Leicester City have been credited with an interest in signing Said alongside Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Glasgow Celtic, Benfica, Porto and Club Brugge. "My dream destination is England, I like the Premier League, I want a new challenge in the English Premier League. I think I can be successful in England if I am given a chance," Said told allnigeriasoccer.com on Tuesday evening. ''The performance of Wilfred Ndidi at Leicester City has motivated me, I like his playing style. I like the way he tackles and recovers the ball from opponents using his strength." Capable of playing several roles on the pitch, Said has versatility to boot and has cited Chelsea-owned winger Victor Moses and former Leicester City star Ahmed Musa as his role models. "I can play any position on the pitch apart from goalkeeper and top striker. At the World Cup, I played as an attacking midfielder, left winger and right winger. "I like all Nigerian players but I would say I look up to Ahmed Musa and Victor Moses the most. I have some of the qualities they possess - they are speedy players," Said concluded. Ahead of a possible trip to the United Kingdom in January 2020 to discuss with interested clubs, Said is undergoing individual training in Kano. |

Emmanuel Dennis has been criticised for being selfish by Belgian pundit Mo Messoudi in the wake of Club Brugge's 3-0 rout of KV Mechelen in which he scored a goal of the season contender. On a personal level, the highlight of Dennis's season so far was netting a brace against Real Madrid in the Champions League two months ago, and Messoudi noted that the Nigeria national-teamer has not been a team player since that game at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu (Madrid). The statistics appear to back up the claims made by Messoudi as the Club Brugge number 42 has managed only one assist in 11 appearances across all competitions since they drew with Real Madrid. "He's a player who is intuitive. Since his goals in Madrid he has been playing very selfishly, I think. In the early stages (against KV Mechelen, ed.) that was actually the case all the time,'' Messoudi said on Extra Time via voetbalprimeur.be. ''There was a lot of irritation in the stands because he is too selfish, like the past games. Although he makes everything right with Tau's 1-0, because he sees Vormer standing there free". Since joining Club Brugge from Ukrainian outfit Zorya Luhansk in July 2017, Dennis has set up 10 goals in 93 matches. |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by komekn(m): 9:38pm On Dec 17, 2019 |
rabzy: Loic is essentially in retirement. He has lost pace and has no longer the same goal threat he once had. Lille have one striker and no other back up. Without Osimhen they are literally toothless. Another Lille players goes off injured first thirty minutes and two players injured that's not good. |
