1. Jesus didn't tell them to take them to take it without the owners consent.

2. The owners consented to their taking it!

I don't think that Jesus' orders were ethical at this point. You must ask the owner for permission to borrow something from him or at least buy it or rent it from him. Some will argue that Jesus needed the donkey to fulfill a prophecy. But why would God want Jesus to commit a sin in order to fulfill a prophecy?

So if Jesus asked his friend to go untie a donkey and even tell them how to respond if anyone should question them, it means the owner must have been a friend of Jesus from who Jesus have asked of using the donkey before then!

If my own father (who is not a prophet) asked me to go and bring a car packed in front of someone's house and also tell me "this is what you're to say in reply to whoever question you regarding the car"

The owners knew Jesus, but they didn't know the disciples. So their reaction proved that what Jesus did was not without their consent, and must have been an arrangement between them.

Only someone like you who have no knowledge of such arrangement can misinterpret it to be a theft.
