To those attacking Sanwo-olu about the little celebration of this, this is what Hamzat his deputy had to say:

We mark milestones because they are evidence that we are making progress. Today we took another step towards delivering the blue line rail project with the completion of the Continuous Beam Bridge for the C Crossing at Marina, Lagos.

https://twitter.com/drobafemihamzat

And I totally agree with the bolded. It is a milestone they're celebrating here and an opportunity to let you all know the progress is right on track and also inform you all of other developments in the state transport sector. Please cut them some slack

Lagos and commissioning of uncompleted projects are like sweet and biscuits.
The governor promised us that there will be massive road construction . All we see is masses road destruction and potholes on our roads. With all the money in the Lagos coffers , we don't deserve all these nonsense sanwo-olu is giving us..

What are you doing about the trailers on the highway?

Fashola is the best governor Lagos has ever produced and his shoe is gonna be really big to fill so I guess the likes of this guy will have a hard time meeting the high expectations of lagosians.

Why do we keep trivializing and tribalizing ourselves in Nigeria?
Politics is about criticism with facts, not calling one's ancestors into a slander game.
Sir, I believe if we engage ourselves with fact we would arm others with the truths they can use elsewhere to educate others.
Please sir, we need to STOP the slander, ancestral bigotry and generational cursing! We are way too developed for these in my opinion.
Facts should win arguments, not abuses.
Thank you all

This was what Governor Ambode was talking about when he said that the project will be completed in 2019. When he was challenged he admitted that he was referring to the civil works. The civil works will be completed in 2019, but the signalling, etc. won't have been done.

The MD of LAMATA stated that 90% of the civil works from Mile 2 to Marina have been completed. There's also talk of beginning the rail service from Mile 2 to Marina, but I haven't seen any turntable that will enable the trains to turn around at Mile 2.

I don't think they intend to use a turn table since it's a passenger train and not a freight, they will just have engines at both end of the train, my opinion tho.

Go to your state and hold your Governor accountable and stop talking nonsense here.

If the standard of governance in Lagos is too low for you, go back to your state. It's not by force for you to be in Lagos.

Could you please stfu.

The title of the post says COMPLETED, the comments and write up suggests project is yet to be completed. What's going on?

The title says that the Lagoon Bridge has been completed. The Lagoon Bridge is a bridge that spans from Orile Iganmu on the mainland to Marina on Lagos Island. Part of the bridge passes over the Elegbeta Channel. The bridge has been completed and the ceremony yesterday was to mark the completion of the bridge.

The bridge is part of the Blue Line rail project. The Blue Line rail project is meant to run from Marina to Okokomaiko. The Blue Line rail project has not been completed. The MD of LAMATA said (yesterday) that they've completed 90% of the civil works between Mile 2 and Marina, but that also means that there's still work to be done between Mile 2 and Okokomaiko. Also, apart from the civil work, there's still other work to be done, like signalling, etc.

So there's no confusion. The Lagoon Bridge has been completed, but the Blue Line rail project has not been completed.

Ok. I made that observation because Governor Fashola talked about a turn table at Marina and another one at Okokomaiko when he was talking about the project c2011.

According to Governor Fashola, when a train runs from Marina to Okokomaiko, for example, on the left rail line, it will turn on the turn table to the right rail line in order to run in the opposite direction, from Okokomaiko to marina. He actually showed a diagram that had the turntable on it.

I remember this quite well because it reminded me of the turntable on the Lagos Steam Tramway in the early 1900s. The Marina turntable was going to be situated at almost the same spot that the steam tramway turntable was.

By the way, despite what you wrote, trains can and actually have been turned on turntables. Anyone who knows anything about railways knows this.

Are the trains running? No, so who cares about a bridge being completed.

When I see trains running from Murtala to Marina, then I will congratulate him.

As the same time, the foolish trailers are back on the roads into Apapa. If he was competent he would nip it in the bud immediately..

Even if I was on the APC payroll like you, I would still call out failures where I see them
