NMA Building levy is a SCAM. What is the purpose of a 40 billion naira building? Are they building it in Dubai? Or will the building lead us to heaven? Let the NMA come out with a detailed explanation. I for one have never seen anything from them. They can't even give a breakdown of how the practising fees are being spent. Now they want to do Davido. "Ta-ti billion for the account o". 37 Likes 3 Shares |

The policy makers should start looking at creating measures that are multifunctional; commision more professional and vocational certifications in maters relating to studying in the field of medicine. Let's put the genius of the general public to bare, let all talents be put up for their due consideration. The holistic approach of our practitioners is the envy of the world. There's no doubt in my mind, given the correct funding the Nigerian health system would rival the best in the world. It all goes back to the political class that cannot seem to find their moral compass. It's probably floating somewhere in the distance. 1 Like |

I dnt really care much about doctors and dis swindle explanations!!! Most of dem are outrageous in their prices too!!! Imaging a C.S Operation costing notin less dan 120k nd som hospitals wil even charge based on sex of d foetus, male child mayb 130-150k! U still av to pay even if dey lost d baby due to dia neglegence!!!. A friend of mine within a space of one week expended 33k on malaria nd typhoid. Moreso, most of dem ar still very heartless, NMA are doin dem badly, but doctors ar doing WORST 5 Likes 1 Share |

Mheen! This is indeed an eye opener. So, aside from tax, levies of these doctor hospitals, they themselves are been charged. 1 Like |

We have done the rough math before. There are over 40,000 - 80,000 doctors in Nigeria. If each doctor pays 20-40 thousand naira in the name of a Building Levy, NMA would be raking in over 10 Billion naira this December, that is if Nigerian doctors are so naive as the jobbers think to let this broad daylight swindle materialize. An alleged Committee constituted to oversee this heist has not sat since its inauguration. It must be noted that this money is different from the 10-20 thousand naira raked in yearly as Practising Fees that are not accounted for to those paying the Practising Fees. This is not to talk about the 2 thousand naira paid by each doctor monthly to Branch NMA in states totalling 24 thousand naira per doctor annually. Our Doctors must stand up to defend themselves. You need to see the way our doctors are highly respected all over the world. But long years of neglect, mismanagement and personal looting by our leaders have made our Hard working doctors look so ordinary, that even nurses in saner climes make money than Nigerian Doctors at home .What a shame...Nigeria must be great again. 13 Likes 2 Shares |

I believe if the EFCC and ICPC look into the accounts of all these associations so much rot will be revealed. From ASUU dues and Levy to NASU dues and Levy to NAAT, NMA, JOHESU, etc. Especially ASUU, NASU, SSANU and NAAT. Some thieves are really taking University workers for a ride. 6 Likes |

That is why Nigeria doctors start billing patients once they give a single tablet of paracetamol. Next, once they see all those very young naive couples come in for child delivery, before you know it, they have done c-section. Bills would run in hundred of thousands. It is the patients that bear the burden at the end of the day 1 Like |

tarryT:Lucky you. It is worse in the University setting. For some persons these levies, no matter how ridiculous, are deducted directly from their salaries. Whether you agree or not. Whether you were in the meeting or not. How can a union even have access to your salary without your consent? From research, the lowest some persons in the Universities have been levied for the past few five months is 5000 Naira. These unions have been hijacked by thieves. Unfortunately the EFCC doesn't seem bothered about it. 3 Likes |

You can say Bleep.'you doctor I am not paying 120k for ordinary cs,' pack up your wife in labour and head to he church. You can say " Bleep it, am gonna use agbo jedi and mixture for this malaria" and tell the doctor to kiss your ass. You really have a choice 20 Likes |

The truth of the matter is that Nigerians are the problem of Nigerians. They tell you to pay a levy for one bogus budget or the other, and when you ask why, they start threatening you. 1 Like |
