revolving loans are not to start a business, but to restock your wares.. its opreating cost.. while you complain.. if baba kamoru gets 10k, he would go and rent danfo bus with 6 and buy fuel 3 k, eat with 1k and still make more than enough plying ikeja along route.. while entitled graduates wail all day... iya risi ka can cook rice and beans with meat with 10 k and take it to the motor pack to sell, while emeka would go and buy enough okirika bail and still make profit
And how many baba kamoru do we have in Nigeria. 10k is not just enough. If govt is serious they should give out 100k and above or invest the 10 billion on something else.

they have trader money starting with 10k, they have GEEP Government Enterprise empowerment programme that gives over 500k to few millions, they have anchor borrowers for farmers and they have funds with bank of industry and bank of agriculture... even in uk your credit score determins what you can borrow. so long genuine traders are not complaining i see no problem

TMSMedia:
The Federal Government has mapped out N10 billion as Trader Moni loan to petty traders and artisans in the 2020 fiscal year, IgbereTV reports.

The loan is part of the social intervention programmes under President Muhammadu Buhari led administration.

According to IgbereTV reports, N10 billion was allocated to BOI as ‘Grants to BOI to support low interest loan to SMEs’. This was contained in the 2020 Appropriation Bill signed into law on Monday by the President.

The Federal Government, through the Bank of Industry (BOI) provides interest free and collateral free loan to petty traders and artisans, under the Trader Moni micro credit scheme. The loan ranges from N10, 000 to N100,000 per beneficiary.

According to the Trader Moni guidelines, the first loan to an individual is N10,000. Upon payment of the first loan, the individual qualifies for a higher amount. The maximum amount allowed is N100,000.

Visionless government. If everybody becomes a trader, who will buy from who. We need new industries that will give our youths and graduates gainful employment. We should start producing most of the things we can import. The government should start with petroleum products which they take abroad to refine and save foreign exchange. Oh, they won't do it since they are benefiting from the system. What is killing I'd corruption rooted in selfishness. List of things we still import that we can produce are

1. Cooking stoves
2. Keke na pep and other cars
3. Shoes
4. Candles
5. Toys
6. Cooking pots and plates
7. Matches
8. Pencils & biros
9. Notebooks (foreign)
10. Tiles

etc. The list is endless.

What we need is industrial revolution and not trader money.

How do you give out a loan of 10,000 Naira ? What sort of business will one start or sustain with such minuscule amount? And a higher percentage of the benefactor will default so why throw away money? Is this not vote buying in disguise ?

I started my first business with 4k.
