deji17: It is not good rating for the Customs that they could not do their jobs and check smuggling across borders until the borders were shut! It means they failed at their core statutory function which is to police the borders efficiently. To treat a runny nose, you apply proper and efficient treatment and even preventive methods like daily vitamins, avoiding exposure to cold n dust, etc. You do not cut the nose off which is exactly what the border closure is. The borders have their positive effects but all are lost because irresponsible louts failed to work effectively until the borders were shut! What will happen if the borders are reopened? Have u read or seen anywhere that FG is training its officials and deploying modern equipment and sufficient support to properly police the borders and beat corrupt practices when reopened? How certain are you that there are no clandestine rackets still happening on a regular basis just not at the previous levels? |

For me, PMB closed borders because he likes people to know he's the boss,na him great pass, na him de control and out of massive wickedness (my opinion pls)...1984, 2015, history is there. Cannot be changed. This clown that spoke in the article didn't see the angle of the loss of business from 120 trucks to 30 trucks. Keep deceiving ya selves with this border closure. One day be one day, monkey go go market, e nor go return 1 Like |

It's not only the border closure that dropped the fuel consumption. The purchasing power of the people has equally dropped. You can do the research for yourself, check other businesses around you'll notice the low patronage. |

Marvieduke: You know subsidy is still on. They collect subsidy to sell to Nigerians then instead of selling to them they sell to Cameroon. Double money. You sell 10 no of product at N100 for sale to your siblings, your dad paid you half each N50 for 10 products. But you sell only 3 to your siblings and sold the rest to your friends at N100. So now you know. |

deji17:You don't close your borders if customs are effective.......... It's not a good policy of government for its borders to be closed.......... OBJ was so frustrated by elements in the customs that he was once confessed that if it was possible to police the borders without the customs..........he would have done so......... |
