Please help my ps 3 developed this fault recently, after some 5-10 minutes of gameplay it switches of by itself and the red light starts blinking until i turn it on again,been facing this for days now. Anyone know what i can do to fix this? Btw it's the fat ps 3

Seems like the blinking light of death issue common on the fat ps 3 consoles

Happened to me earlier this year, it called the red light of death, bro the only to fix that is to get another ps3

Temp solution is reballing. It's like 8k to 12k,if u give to wrong person, they would heat itwith a heat gun and say they've done it...



Hold up.... If it comes up, works for some time before it works, then it's probably the heat sink paste, can be cleaned out, replaced without work on process needed

This happened to me few years back. I just opened it and cleaned it (was really dusty). And it stopped.

Guy, how's your console now? Mine is having similar issue and I've dusted it but not haven't applied thermal paste. Abeg na for the cpu and gpu you apply the paste and wetin be the name of the paste?

Common fix for YLOD:

If u used the white thermal paste, guess it dries faster i advice u get the gray coloured thermal paste. Then secondly another culprit is the nec tokin capacitor, they can be brought back alive by heating it up but the best is change those nec tokin to 330uf tantalum capacitor "google search can help with those pics of tantalum capacitor"
