"Visa Agents" has ruined a good number of applicants' chances. They tell them to lie they are married on a B1/B2 visa application to increase their chances of success - only to be denied, and when they have a chance at immigrant visa again in the future, that lie then comes back to haunt them.

What I took out of this article is consistency, and if I might add, honesty. The consular officers are no fools, they can see through your lies and manufactured stories that touch. If you apply for a visa with honesty and fail, it is not the end of the world - a better chance at immigrant visa can come in the future. Do not ruin your future chances by lying all over the place and then expect a miracle.

@ op you tried but I disagree with this write to some extent.
I have been to 20 visa interview before most embassies started using VFS and I have been denied only twice, also I am a travel consultant so I experienced in this area.

1. No matter how expert you are in application or documentation, there is always a little mistake in one or two area.

2. Dressing doesn't matter at all, the interviewer don't care about how you dressed but that doesn't mean you should do to interview naked. I and my clients have wore some crazy dress to interviews and got the visa.

3. You are nervous or not doesn't concern the interviewer, inshort incase of America embassy if you are too smart or claiming to be smart they will still "knack you Akpako" lol.

With my experience, 80% of why Nigerians don't get visa is
1. fake documents: No matter how smart u think you are on fake documents, the interviewer has seen a lot of that and can tell your sincerity.
2. No enough tie back home here in Nigeria. You must prove that you have many reason to come back if you are granted visa.
3. Lack of travel experience: Number one culprit for visa refusal.

Even if you have all the right documents, have good tie back home, have good travel experience and all that the interviewer can still denied you visa base on quota.

All this is just story, at the end of the day Trump doesn't want immigrants and is cutting immigration to the minimum. He doesn't want America to turn into a non white majority country so expect more strict immigration rules in the nearest future.

You're absolutely right. From what you said here, seems you've traveled there before. I have actually been there before too and to be honest no place like home. Buh at the same time, there are better opportunities as well as good quality of life over there compared to what we have here in Naija. Here in Naija, we the citizens provide virtually everything by ourselves.. We provide our own security, we get generators to provide electricity, we have bad roads everywhere, poor health care systems etc. All these things are easily accessible over there and one can easily get a well paying job when the pay is converted to our local currency here. So in essence, traveling there has it's advantages as well as disadvantages just like staying here in Naija too...

That being said, please can you put me through the Finland Visa application process. Thanks

During my first visit interview, I was full of confidence. Didn't care whether they gave me visa or not..second was ok. Third was Skype interview. Infact I couldn't see my interviewer, but she could see me(oyibo wicked o..Dem put blank dp make I de answer questions)..infact, after the Skype session,I told her I had questions for her too..she said that would be all... secret is confidence..very important

Good Advise, but it wouldn't make any impact on Visa Applications. Just fill in the forms as Required Be candid when giving Answers. Simple! you can still be refused Visa regardless of how Appropriate you act of talk. They reserve that right.

Sometimes before The interview it has been Decided to Deny you a Visa if you are unlucky to fall into their Statistics of Refusals for that week. They can not just let everyone who qualifies in.

I have an ex who works at The ..... Immigrations as an Immigration officer. She tells me that she can deny a visa Just because she had a bad day or had a bad night before.

Their Formats are, Deny as many Visa Applications As possible regardless, genuine or obviously not genuine. And Issue as few as Possible genuine Applications.
