Get this. As a developing nation, you are at a disadvantage if you have a huge population. You have many more mouths to feed with your meagre resources. That is why most developing nations of Nigeria's size have severe social crises with regard to provision pf public services. Nations like Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh etc These are countries with 200 million plus populations, and they are all similar to Nigeria in terms of public services deficiencies lie power cuts, poverty, etc.

Developing states like Ghana, with just a few million people, and a large resource base, are at a definite advantage going forward, and will always find it easier to provide basic services to the majority of their people.
