God sent his prophet to threaten David with how many years of famine? Seven (2 Samuel 24:13) Three (I Chronicles 21:12)

You think the early men used numbers as 1,2,3 like you know it today?
Have you heard phrases like “four and two scores” or ancient phrases like “ein lifon,” meaning “one left over.” Which is 11 today. “twe lif,” meaning “two left over.” Or 12 today. “Three and ten” as 13.
Imagine 3 different tribes writing/saying “two left over” in their various languages and someone now trying to transcribe then to hebrew before finally being transcribed to English.

efembaba: We know that there is the letter of scripture and there is the power and spirit of it. Any body, even atheists can read it for the sake of literature and that's what they will get out of it. Just literature--historical events, texts, biographies, chronologies etc. But another person can read it and get salvation, which is the spiritual value, out of it.. The bible was written over a period of hundreds of decades by people who didn't t even know one another yet talking about the same person i.e Jesus Christ whether in Prophecy or in events, his kenosis, life on earth death, resurrection and the significance of it. This is the Spirit and power of scripture and there is perfect agreement over this among all the writers of the bible. Every other detail including figures, historical events semantics etc are all subject to human limitations of the writers in terms of personal mastery of language vocabulary, detailing, perspectives etc and it's also subject to such factors as interpretations, tranlations and transliteration of literature, preservation of integrity of text, change in meaning and semantics of certain words in languages over the years etc Please tell them. Somebody wrote 3 months, another person wrote 3 months and 10 days so that means the Bible is totally wrong smh 1 Like 1 Share |

Christianity always wins... yen yen yen Wait for your answers. In Israel 1,100,000 were found and 500,000 in Judah. In the second book, 800,000 were found in Israel and 470,000 in Judah. If you read through the Bible without lifting passages out of context, I think you would see the complementary figures. Read 1Chron 27:1-15 and 2Chro 1:14 to see the 288,000 and 12,000 soldiers that were chosen soldiers. 800,000+288.000+12,000=1,100,000 Now to 470,000 and 500,000 There was a chosen army of 30,000 in 2Sam6:1. If you read the accounts well, it is said that the number from 2 tribes was not included. 470,000+30,000=500,000 What you don't understand is the perspectives of writers. The accounts were not written by one person. One focused on events in Judah and the other on Israel. It takes great mental stamina to read the bible. What you think is an error will disappear when you study character, theme, setting, prevailing circumstances, etc. Great Literature students can relate to an extent. 8 Likes 2 Shares |

Does it mean he subscribes to Christmas?
The misguided extremists should please take it a notch higher and tell Salah to quit Liverpool because it's a majorly Christian club [in a Christian city and a Christian country]. Idiocy! Exactly! What does compound words have to do with numbers?
If the bible was written in Hebrew or Greek originally and in that hebrew bible, what's there is the number "three". If it's translated to English, should it not then remain number 3? what's so compound about numbers?
If numerals or numbers are translated from one language to another, should they not remain the same?
in the second one I quoted, in one verse it says 3 and in another it says 7... is there not a different between 3 and 7? Is that not how it is in the original bible that was translated? what's so compound about numerical figures that will make them change when translated? 3 is 3... 7 is 7..
in the third one, one verse says 42 another says 22.. is there not a difference...
in fourth one, one verse says 18 another one 8..
what's so "compound" about all these?
The numerals are different simple..
And that's even just five.
There are 96 more that I have for you... should I bring them? |

Who approached Jesus? (Matthew 8:5-7) The Centurion approached Jesus, beseeching help for a sick servant. (Luke 7:3 & 7:6-7) The Centurion did not approach Jesus. He sent friends and elders of the Jews.
Paul’s attendants heard the miraculous voice and stood speechless. Acts 9:7 Paul’s attendants did not hear the voice and were prostrate. Acts 22:9 & 26:14
Was she dead or just dying? (Matthew 9:18) He asked for help, saying his daughter was already dead. (Luke 8:41-42) Jairus approached Jesus for help, because his daughter was dying.
When did the fig tree hear of its doom? (Matthew 21:17-19) Jesus cursed the fig tree after purging the temple. (Mark 11:14-15 & 20) He cursed it before the purging.
Matthew 2:15, 19 & 21-23 The infant Christ was taken into Egypt. Luke 2:22 & 39 The infant Christ was NOT taken to Egypt.
Matthew 5:1-2 Christ preached his first sermon on the mount. Luke 6:17 & 20 Christ preached his first sermon in the plain.
Where did the devil take Jesus first? (Matthew 4:5- The Devil took Jesus first to the parapet of the temple, then to a high place to view all the Kingdoms of the world. (Luke 4:5-9) The Devil took Jesus first to a high place to view the kingdoms, then to the parapet of the temple.
Where did Jesus first appear to the eleven disciples? In a room in Jerusalem. Luke 24:32-37 On a mountain in Galilee. Matthew 28:15-17
Who bought the Sepulcher? Jacob, Josh 24:32 Abraham, Acts 7:16
Was John the Baptist Elias? "This is Elias which was to come." Matthew 11:14 "And they asked him, what then? Art thou Elias? And he said I am not." John l:21 I once read the write-up of a police detective and it have a statement like this If an event happen with witnesses around, and the witnesses were asked to give account of what they witnessed, their account can never be 100% the same. However, it will be similar and you can reach a reasonable conclusion from there.Majority of the books in the Bible (apart from the letters) were not written when the events were happening. Rather, they were written by witnesses to the event (or people who heard the story from witnesses) many years after the events have happened. If you carefully go through all the stories you posted, you will notice a similarity between the verses and can reach a reasonable conclusion about the circumstances surrounding the event. The differences in each story is due to the different witnesses who witnessed the event. And the view of the different witnesses were all included in the Bible, so you can make a reasonable conclusion about the story. 7 Likes 2 Shares |

NGRsenate:
It’s not that you’re raising these points to challenge the histories, translation and semantic relationships among them.
You’re raising them to feel cool as an atheist.
Enjoy your 5mins of fame. Just leave him...are they not a recall/testament of each follower/disciple of Christ's personal experience with him? He needs to first understand that the books(testaments) are stories being recalled by a 'few' disciples of Christ...yet, he expects them to be accurate..as if he perfectly remembers..in a very detailed form...what he did exactly 205 days ago. 1 Like |

IAmStrange:
Mind you, remember in my post above, I asked u two things.
first I asked u to prove it that those terms were the ones used in the original bible? prove it from all confirm text?
Secondly answer all those contradictions. I seriously fail to understand the problem atheists have with Christians. They say there is no God, we hear them, why can't they just move on? Why are they bothered with things that don't exist to them? Bro help me ask them. We believe there is One God, the Eternal Father, whose Son is Jesus Christ, the Judge of the living and the dead. Whom we shall all stand before one day when we die, since everyone must die someday. 1 Like |

Pruwa: Religion is the cause of many problems today!!! there is nothing wrong in showing love to his Christian brothers Some Christians also celebrate with Muslims on their festive seasons too Dude, humans will always find a way to cause division, hate and strife. If not religion it is race, creed, tribe, skin colour, language etc. Humans are just the problem of this world. 2 Likes |
