I'm hearing of that for the first time. I know they use potash to quickly soften the meat but I've never heard of paracetamol. That's all shades of wrong. We like taking too many shortcuts in this country

I heard it for first time also in December 10th this year, from one of the caterer hired to prepare food in a barrier ceremony

How about when potash is used to prepare owo? In other to thicken it, is it harmful? I eat it all the time so i want to know cos plantain and owo is a delicacy in my area

I do not know what owo is but adding potash to feeds is a risk to health.
I know farmers routinely add potash or baking soda to palm oil to make it curdle, this also is a health risk and the damage continues to build up overtime.
Nigerians dont routinely do health check up but I would advise that if you are worried about your exposure to potash, do a kidney function test. The level of potassium should normally be between 3.5-5.

But I think many of them are ignorance of the negative effect of it, even I have not think of the possible side effect of it untill I read this post.

Hmmm...... more money by any means necessary. The health or whatever department should be testing foods at public eateries .... this is a public health hazard.

I have read some comments and I never see anyone that confirm this OP claim of using paracetamol to soften meat.... I am also hearing this for the first time.

@OP, can you please enlighten us more on the taste of the meat after been boiled with paracetamol because we all know how this tablet taste for mouth.

Will the paracetamol make the meat slightly bitter or not

please I need sincere answer.
