It is also important to note that about 70% of electricity generated in Nigeria is lost during transmission, ie from power stations to your transformers.
This is very worrisome. The saboteurs are not helping matters.
The billing companies come up with frivolous estimated bills. Those of you who have switched from estimated to prepaid meters will understand.

The entire Southern Senatorial district of Ondo State hasn’t seen electricity between 5 to 10 years. BEDC under the leadership of Funke Odubosu don’t care. Our politicians who are supposed to be our representatives including Governor, our Senator, the House of Representatives and the members of House of state assembly are not doing anything.
We are wishing ourselves best of luck in the new year and of possible in the new Decade.

For our estate, transformer has been out of action for nearly 5 months... we don contribute money but till today, no light.

As for me personally, I've been enjoying uninterrupted solar power for years now. It's not a big system, but enough so I can see at night, charge my devices, and pump water.

Here in Ebute Metta of Lagos Mainland, 10 pm to 6 am is certain for sometime now but for this Xmas period, they have been giving us at least 4 hours in the afternoon. That's like average of 12 hours per day. This is not commendable, considering the fact that I got times 6 of my regular estimated bill last month

Very good actually

But one thing Nigerians have to realize

We generate 7000MW on a good day...a really good day.

We need about an additional 40000 mw before we can see good power.

And it is going to cost a lot of money.

7000MW...of which 2000mw is lost due to a bad transmission system, isn't going to supply light 24/7 for 200million people.

MODIFIED

Most African countries basically supply power to selected regions, and leave the rest in darkness. That's what the DISCOS and GENCOS are doing codedly in Nigeria.
We have the capacity to generate 7000MW. But we don't have the capacity to transmit and distribute that amount. If the 7000MW can be available, almost every one will have light
