Guys in the business, kindly respond to this. I'm also thinking towards such, but I will need a driver when the time comes

dljbd1:
Hi guys,

I'm looking to setup uber for my younger brother but I do not have any knowledge of the business. Couldn't start reading from page one due to the number of pages and I want to even believe most of the information as at 2015 when the thread started may not be relevant today.

So please, could anyone help with a summary on how to begin.
The car (year, models, etc.)
Registration process
Etc.

Thanks guys

Taxify yaf mad finish

Lol , this happened a lot yesterday. No ride, so Taxify was just bringing far rides anyhow. As soon as it’s beyond 12min , which is far sef , I no go. And even the 12 minutes, if you are not going far. I no go.

I cherry picked rides a lot yesterday which was really unusual of me, but na all mouth I use tAlk am.... e pay me by far!

I turned down a request of 5 guys entering my car, helped them book an extra Taxify, and ended up carrying two. My shocks will smile back at me.

Also cancelled a 15 minutes pick up ride, then saw a lady walking and ask her for an affordable life. She paid Dopemu to Oshodi (Ilupeju) 1,500. Whole the ride that is 15 minutes away was around 700.

Yesterday was ok, Tomorrow is another day!

Weirdest thing I saw last night was two partially drunk couple from Magodo to Shangisha. Making up in my car. The kiss and talks were loud ehn, it was embarrassing!

And as soon as I dropped them off, trying to reverse the narrow road, they started banging right in the compound loudly.. wetin musa no go see for gate!?

If we can not confront the challenges that face us but we rather complain and nag about them how then do we move forward?

This is not a fight against anybody or any organization instead it’s a fight for victory and liberation and civilization.

In cowards see his problem and take on their heels, braze men face it weather it kills them doesn’t matter, but the truth is they must have succeeded in weakening or exposing the enemy.

If we all keep complaining about the loop holes taxify has believe me they’ll never change because their mission and vision statement about their idea is nothing about drivers, therefore, no amount of driver’s complains will be attended to rather riders. They see riders as “kings” while drivers as “slaves” forgetting that the latter is even as valuable as the former to them.

We can make them change that mindset but it’s take cooperation, it’s takes just a little sacrifice and in the end everyone including the rider will be glad and happy.

We can do this is come together, we don’t necessarily need to meet f2f, right here in social media we can do and achieve anything we need.

100 percent behind you. The rubbish is too much. The most annoying one is the trip cancellation without payment of fine.
Imagine being in traffic to pick a passenger in thick traffic on 24, only for the passenger to cancel when I was just some metres to pick up. Meanwhile, I kept calling the idiot o.
Felicity001:

You’re right, they’ve more riders but nothing is impossible my guy. On this platform alone we have more than a humdrend drivers that exclude owners partners. If each 1 can connect to a driver and get feed back on the poor threatment from taxify and reasons why we plan for a week boycott, just a week believe me if this protest is well worked out it will work out well within few months. Even if it’s a day protest let’s all drive down to their head office and make our voice heard. Trust me nothing is impossible. This rubbish is too much na haba!!! Only the insult from riders alone self is enough to boycott them plus the money riders don’t pay after rides is enough.
Mind you this is not politics, so nobody is at risk of losing h/h life.

If you guys re interested I have more than a thousand strategy we can do this all I need is just a few of us. We will get other drivers along the line as we proceed.

Obviously lagos. But if you're already resident in Abuja, you can stay put at Abuja and make your money, though not as lagos, since the car is yours.

But if you're thinking of relocating to either Lag or Abuja for this biz, lagos is the better place of the two options and the best place overall in Nigeria for ehailing.

There are various cars good for this business; ranging from popular options like Hyundai, Toyota Corolla, camry (Big daddy), honda civic, someone even uses benz c230.

But the popular sentiment is that corolla is the best for this business interms of fuel economy, cost of maintenance and strength but there is another school of thought driven by dru23 that honda civic is a better option than corolla with the claim that it is more fuel efficient than corolla, less cost of maintenance, better interior and even comes cheaper than corolla.
With civic, it is quicker to recoup your investment than corolla because it is less expensive.

So in essence, you may narrow your optons to corolla, civic and seek more advices on these brands as regards to ehailing

Less I forget, Uber accepts 2000 upward while bolt accepts from 2003 upward. You may consider nothing less than 2003 brand so that your car is accepted across all platforms.

For your car registration on uber, you need

1. Valid insurance docs
2. Lagos state road worthiness.
3. Vehicle inspection report from the center accredited by any of these ehailing platforms.

In terms of investment, you can either take the rental or hire purchase options.

I think I've tried a bit.

BTW, I need a car for rental.

Good luck.

My grouse with uber is their fraudulent removal of promotions from driver's account ; claiming your account was flagged for fraudulent use.
For three days I have been mailing them to tell me how I fraudulently used the uber app, they keep saying they have escalated the issue to a senior rep who handles such issues.

Is the senior rep on Xmas holidays ni undecided

bros that is the same thing they told me back then, that they have escalated the issue for more that 3month now nothing yet. bros better be using bolt more often instead of uber for like 3 weeks now have not use the uber app even to set destination them they fuckup I use bolt and ocar. today have net 22k.and am home already thunder fire uber. the worse part u can cancel anyhow why on bolt i cancel anytime i like i don't have to drive to riders destination b4 I cancel.
