Please help, my eggplant seedlings are beginning to show white/yellow dots on their leaves and the leaves are yellowing and withering. It's my first time trying eggplant. I couldn't find Ridomil in d market so I bought the closest I could find which is Chinese made, ultimax plus which I sprayed yesterday. I also have said. What is the best alternative to Ridomil gold. what is wrong with my seedlings, is it that they are root bound or nutrient deficient or diseased? Please help
look very carefully behind the leafs there maybe thiny red spider mites on it and the white spots are leaf miners

You should have done your market survey first before planting.
I don't know why people ignore that aspect of agribusiness. Market survey is an integral aspect of agribusiness.

3-7days

It's not compulsory but it's necessary if it's a virgin land. If not, please bombard your soil with manure

I keep on wondering why people hardly discuss planting beans here in this forum
please is it really profitable because i will like to try my hands on it?
the little i have researched showed me that beans dont need too much water and it can grow well even when not taken good care of,
but i keep on wondering why people hardly plant beans for a living
they say only the norths plant beans but am wondering how come,
beans take little space to be planted onlike other plants but it tends to feel like no one cares about it
is it that beans is not profitable after harvesting it or is it that there is no available market to go and sell them?
or maybe the harvesting and peeling and shiftering process is too hard,
i just keep wondering and poundering on my mind why people dont go into beans farming
is the growing proccess too long and tiring?
i dont know if someone here can enlighten me on this so i can think otherwise
thanks

Because beans is not a profitable venture.. even rice I'd not a profitable venture... now think about the size of a bag of rice .. sold much higher than beans... then compare that size with a bag of beans

pilot programs or test farms are there for a reason, you don't have to wonder why farmers in the south don't plant beans, get one plot and plant beans and check the outcome if it is profitable or not,but I doubt if you can get up to half bag of beans from one plot,if it's not high value crops ,I am not interested, even planting Cavendish bananas on one plot will give you far more value than beans

hmm it seems beans afterall is not that profitable,

but i keep on wondering why the north likes planting it

maybe it has no stress growing even without water thats why they so much like it,

but here in lagos i have never seen one single beans farmer

anyways it seems i will dive into another crop apart from beans

just needed to know anyways

I have noticed something peculiar on the farm that we are using drip irrigation vs other farms nearby that uses high pressure water to irrigate, due to the fact that drip irrigate by the slow application of water drop by drop the nutrients in the soill are not immediately leached away, fertilizer is gradually dissolved and the crops are fertilized anything you irrigate, but using high water pressure hose on the other hand will dissolve and move nutrients down pass the root zone, faster, disturb the root system and effectively starve the crop, we conducted an experiment on effect of water pressure on basal applied NPK fertilizer and found out that by the 3rd day of watering all the nutrients in the fertilizer has leached 1 feet down and by the fourth day of watering the roots cannot get the nutrients again, the farm we are using drip now and others that are using water hose are light years apart, despite the fact that we applied manure once before planting and npk only twice, but at the water hose irrigated farm they applied manure before planting and again at 28 days and 4 npk application but after 4 harvest the cucumber leafs has turned to yellow due to nutrients deficiency.

People ask me why I am harsh at times. Teaching is about acceptance. When I see an under utilized gifted hand, I can abuse it to success. grin i do not care what everyone thinks about me. I just want a change.

There is time for everything. The time to run mad with people, and the time to embrace them with love. I do not enjoy spitting into the faces of people here, but when it is ncessary, I do it gallantly. It will surely end in praises.

I told you. When you try drip, you will never and ever return to hose. You will never advise your enemies to touch hose again. I may not be the one who made you use drip, but I know that my insults forced you to think over it again and again. You see how you cut down the cost of fertilizer and water drastically? Even cut down the cost of fuel. Hahahhhahahah! And then cut down the crazy cost of labor (workers). I dont argue with people. I either teach or curse the stubborn ones. You just realize at the end of the day that it is more expensive not to use drip. Hehehehhhe. And it always end in praises.

You never start oooooo. Dive into mulch sir. Read my concepts again and use them. Then, you will even return and start teaching me too. Get into the world of micro organisms (be careful ooooo hmmmmm; otherwise, you will regret it) amino acids, micro nutrients, etc....and see how you will cut down chemicals usage by 50% to 90%. Again return to prunning and see the wonders. Do little and see for yourself. No argument. No need of posting pictures and videos on these matters. Good farmers know. Nairaland consultants and trainers are angry with me for revealing these tricks. You will return and bless the name of the LORD. 10 fruits per plant are sure for you with your experience if you dig deeper.

I stand by my words, no drip....no cultivation of staked hybrid cucumber seeds. Infact, mulch is very necessary too.

Blessings!

Pls don't even think of beans farming especially if ure new into it unless u just want to do a pilot study of 1plot.U will think that ire prepared for the pest but it ll shock u.beans is not like vegetable where u can make good profits from 1-2 plots of land, ull need hectares to make good profit.that is why those it is practiced by the Hausa,a small boy in the north can have 10hectared for planting all for himself so even it it get infested by pest,he'll still make profit BC it ll still be accepted in d open market

Hello mr okoroemeka,
the man i highly do respect here due to your calm nature and willingness to teach us things here for free without adding some locked codes to it onlike one old grown fella here,

always good in detecting fraud but will never help anyone in his jambass numerous teachings of researches,

please i calmly state my claim here because i am really bittered this very moment,

i know its all because of this their jobless men arguements you purposely stoped updating us here in this thread,

there are some of us here that are moraly way down due to those 2 incombatible fools and their arguments,

who is fraud and who is not a fruad!

Is that what we came here to learn?

But with my humble plee to you as an elder,

please ignore them as they are never and will never be any beneficial to this agricultural thread as you have been so far,

i beg you in the name of God to find time to bring to our notice your usual updates as like you have always done before,

even though i hardly contribute anything here but it gives me great joy reading and learning new things from you,

almost every day i would rush up here to read and be excited enough so as to make my day complete,

no day would pass i wont come here to read contributions and suggestions from this thread that i even made it my best thread in this whole agricultural section,

but guess what?

This 2 looking old baboons with their useless arguments about who is a fraudster and who is not has made this thread a very dull one for me here and others who are grieved to behold all this,

it pains me to see some cowards making a point but he hardly shows people the way of succeding like him,

all he does is speak in jagoons like a slowpoke,

i wont call names here but am simply angry right now to the inner chambers of my bones,

but it also grieved me seeing the mods dont act as they suppose to,

had it been it was me or anyone else here

we would have been surely served 3 years ban for disturbing public peace,

and be relived from using this agricultural thread for life,

hmmm it pains me to see niggars sad but they cant say a word because they are scared of this big pumper nose of a guy who claims to know it all,

but please mr okoroemeka i beg you in the name of the lord who made the heavens and the earth to please continue on this your update on this thread,

never has i been angry like this online and has ever spoken with anger for this long period of time,

this is my little petition to you sir to reconsider and go all out and be the man that we want you to be,

the leader and the teacher we have always respected you to be,

say no to those riffrafs and their useless arguments

and as for the mods keeping a deaf ears to all this shit happening in agricultural threads,

i say thank you and welldone,

if it was my account my2chains that have been causing all this botanical arguements up and down,

you guys would have smiled and served me a sweet 3 days suspension or better still be banned for years out of the agricultural section

i drop my case here,

mods please take note or else no one will take you guys serious again.

sorry my fellow readers for all this long speech epistle

its high time we kick this 2 argueing ugly niggars in their dick balls so their brains can be reboothed so they can shut the dem up for good!

I onced loved you both but now at the mention of your names i just feel this inner hatred and anger that i can hardly bear it.

Why reduce yourselfs to this low level of thinking

hmm anyways Cheers to you all from an angry okoroemeka fan

but it pains me much in my heart this very moment as we speak,

if they think no one can challenge them then they are really wrong,
