Did he join immediately or their was a gap of some years. Are you sure he was not sacked or asked to leave by Glo? If he was sacked or asked to leave you can join a rival company.

That is why I believe the former CEO of Lafarge was asked to leave.i

When Segun Akanmu voluntarily left MTN, he crossed over to FCMB.

Maybe be they have relaxed on the restriction clause

You mean Olu Akanmu. He first crossed to PhB. What about Dem Elesho and MTN. He left MTN to take over MTS Wireless but MTN held him by the throat!

He left Bank PHB few months before the bank went under to join MTN, he was at MTN for about 6 years before he crossed over to FCMB and he is still at FCMB

I've just discovered Morgan has made a major improvement. I found myself logged in directly with my Android phone. They did it for me!
It's now mobile friendly. I hereby congratulate the organisation.

The news of pucheros joining Dangote is definitely a sad one........I think someone has to challenge Dangote on Antitrust issues cos he is fighting dirty in this cement game......The business of Cement is about volume sold......Who else to join Dangote Arsenal @ this time but one who possesses the secret of ur competition.......worst part is that makojun just came out of retirement to pave way for this man.......

That was why I said things are not well with the former CEO and the parent company.

If the former CEO left voluntarily, he can't pick up an appointment with a rival company.

In the telecommunication sector if a management staff resigns he can't pick up an appointment in a similar company in the country until a period of 5 years...

In most cases whenever they resign, the cross over to the banking, manufacturing, oil and gas etc.

The former company secretary of Lafarge resigned about 2 years ago to become the company secretary of a bank

There need not be any problem between the CEO and the company before he resigns and picks up appointment in another company immediately. There is mobility of labour. You can resign and pick up another appointment in any sector, including the one you are resigning from if you have a better offer. The lady company secretary you mentioned was head hunted by the bank and gave due notice to Lafarge, took a short vacation then resumed at the now defunct bank.

In the case of one company buying another one in a nascent industry, as part of the sale and purchase agreement, for an additional fee you can agree with the sellers not to engage in competition with the company they are selling. It does not stop them from entering another business line altogether.

And you think the CEO of Lafarge gave enough reason. The role of a company secretary is important but not as important as that of the CEO, but she gave enough notice compared to a CEO who was forced out without enough notice.

Dangote cement is the major beneficiary of all these.

Lafarge should learn how to motivate and retain the manpower. Sales and marketing team of Dangote cement is dominated by ex Lafarge staff,

BUA might succeed in pushing Lafarge to the third position in Cement market

The share price will drop when listed, it will be the cement company with the largest outstanding shares of close to 30 billion. BUA has scammed CCNN shareholders with his questionable share exchange ratios.

Dangote cement has 17 billion shares, with plans to reduce it to about 15.4 billion through shares buy back

How can you say Dangote poached him, the truth will soon be open. I think Lafarge eased him out.

Since you are a shareholder of Lafarge, I am also a shareholder we can come together and petition SEC. The truth about this saga will soon be out.

Lafarge would have maintained there market share as the leader in the cement market, while other players were investing and expanding their capacity, they were busy repatraiting profits to France.

They have been in Nigeria for over 60 years but they didn't make good use of the head start advantage they have over others.
