Sir My fickle mind is telling me that Dangote Cement is perfecting their strategy to buy out Wapcos operations in Nigeria, If it is not already finalised by both Management, the clearing and streamlining of wapcos books to reflect only Nigeria operations, the carpet crossing of CEO,,,, A little digging and i found out that Dangote Cement has stalled the building of another cement plant around Ijebu-Ode, they might be thinking why build another one if these foreigners would rather sell out.....

House, Can Someone breakdown this share buy back Dangote cement is proposing, Its the first of its kind in Nigeria..... Most Management thinks of is bloating Outstanding shares and robbing the retail investor of value........Aside bragging rights what are the directors and management seeing to enback on this move

Such acquisition or merger will have to be discussed at the AGM and also approved by the shareholders.

If they are closing shop, why will they be investing in the country? They raised fund not quite long through right offer.

If they wanted to sell , they would have sold when the business was in red and not now when the business is looking promising.

Dangote cement will spend between N250 billion to over N300 billion to pursue the shares buy back scheme, if acquisition of Lafarge was in their agenda the company will not bother to spend a fortune on the shares buy back.

You do share buy back if you think your shares are undervalued and the company has the financial resources to pursue the shares buy back.

Dangote cement is sitting on a huge cash of about N700 billion, so I believe the company has the resources for the exercise

Has anyone who made purchase today via Morgan capital has it shares showing in his/her morgan account. The fbnh I bought today is yet to show in my total units as my cash shows intact.

I believe there is still a manual element to EOD account reconciliation. Happened to me a few times. Sometimes within 2 hrs after close. On one occasion it was reconciled b4 SOB next day.

Dangote Cement Plc’s Board of Directors has considered and agreed to recommend share buyback and reverse share split to its shareholders.

http://www.dangotecement.com/dangote-cement-board-recommend-share-consolidation-buyback/

With the above MEMO it simply means DANGOTE CEMENT COY is planning to do both SHARE BUYBACK and SHARE RECONSTRUCTION.
