YomiAfo: Hi guys.. Compliments of the season. I’ve been going through this thread for a while. I’m considering applying to the American embassy in January. I went nov 2018 with my folks but was denied. I want to try alone next year and I would still be serving. If I’m asked by the VO how long I want to stay and I say two weeks. Will a minimum of 2m be sufficient to stay for two weeks for sightseeing? (Hotel fees inclusive). Thanks At this point your stay or your money is not an issue, the last 2 years of your denial what your travel history like if there is no visa stamp on your international passport don't waste money on visa money, toss the money to me tho lol 1 Like |

I will appreciate feedback on this. Enick: Season greetings to everyone in this group!
Just a quite question with candid and sincere advice.
1. I am employed at the same time own a business. How do I enter both information in my DS-160 form? Or would it be less complicated to state only one and speak on that one during the interview?
2. We(my family) did a visit to Dubai in 2014 and I travel alone to France in 2019. The DS-160 only requested for our last 5years travel history. Unfortunately, it has exceeded the travel history period which implies that my other family members will not have travel history on their DS-160. Would you advise I enter the family notwithstanding the timeline?
3. I am thinking of taking my family to Disneyworld, Orlando Florida but someone told me I could pick both New York City and Florida. What are your opinions? |

Enick: I will appreciate feedback on this.
If I recall correctly, you can put two or more employment in the DS160. If you leave end date of both employment as ongoing, you have satisfied Q1 of your post Q2. Five years is five years. Leave it like that. When VO receives your Passport at the interview, they will see the visas and immigration stamps. Q3. You can do anything in the USA. Just make sure you clearly have a realistic itinerary to show the vacation spots and travel. Florida to NY involves some commute time and cost. Additional boarding/ travel needs to be factored When a VO mentally calculates cost of flight from NG to NY and OR and back with a family unit, feeding, shopping etc against combined income of both adults... |

I deeply appreciate your reply to my question. Q1. I was asking a question. I'm currently with a company at the same time, I have registered part-time business which also gives me money. How do I enter both in my DS-160 form or should I leave the business out? That was the question. Flight from Nigeria to New York is far cheaper and it saves the family lots of money for other purposes while the revert is the case for Florida. And I am thinking of overcoming the challenge at POE explaining that I am going to Florida as stated in my application but suddenly landing at JKF. fkj950ax:

You didn't read my comments.
Yes you can list your paid employment and also your personal business. Each employment has a start and end date drop down. Leave both as ongoing or as current place of employment.

Before PoE explanation at NY; VO in Nigeria will question your decision to stop at NY, and then check of you have funds to TRAVEL from NY to Florida.
If this is not answered satisfactorily, you may be denied the visa.
Lagos to NY may be cheaper than Lagos to Florida, but what is the plans for getting to Florida from NY with the family.. It ain't going o be free init?

very valid point. well ultimatebas:
SEASON GREETINGS EVERYONE
For all y'all claiming asylum on homosexuality grounds i think your time is up. The society frowns at homosexuality doesn't mean homosexuals aren't tolerated in Nigeria. You are claiming to be a lesbian. Have you heard of Bobrisky the popular homosexual, transverstile and cross dresser. He walks around freely with no one harassing him(I even saw him once at a shopping mall with some of his fans). Do you feel Canadian Immigration doesn't know about Bobrisky and other homosexuals?
If you want to migrate to Canada, do the right thing. Pay for IELTS(International English Language Testing System) it cost about 75k which is less than the cost of an approved US visa(40700 + 56000). I have read your write up ,your english ain't bad if you can write that way.
My observation is that for every wrong approach of doing things ,there are twice legitimate ways of achieving same result. We Nigerians should learn how to do things rightly because our reputation outside is bad 1 Like |

VO: Good Morning Me: Good morning. VO: passport pls.

VO: U said your company ship cars from U.S Me: Yes. VO: any Prove? Me: In my mind I don catch you. I gave her shipments documents worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. VO: have you travelled before ? Me: In my mind I don catch you again. I said yes and start to name. Switzerland, Germany , UK, Poland, France, Italy, Singapore, Greece, Malaysia, Dubai including African countries. And I told her what I went to do in each country. VO: paused and look at me for 2 seconds then ask. Why where you in Malaysia again? Me : To do....... VO: Took my statement of account and scrutinized it. Went through my visas thoroughly in all my four passports then type for 1 minute. VO: Are you married? Me: No but looking for now. What about a situation whereby you already have someone sponsoring your trip; accommodation, feeding, flight ticket, everything and you provide proof and also invitation letter from the person..Will they still deny you the visa? On a normal day you should be granted visa with that write-up But Nigerians have used all these method to run away and misuse their tourist visa. 1 Like |

Someone that can add value to their economy not someone with the potential to japa.....or someone that wants to visit aunty or uncle or girlfriend that will sponsor their trip.
Not necessarily true. A visitor isn’t really expected to add value to the US economy. They are only looking to ensure you will abide by the rules of your visa. 1 Like |

Qlibra: I'm not entirely going for just visit. The plan is to seek Asylum as lesbian in (Canada)..Sorry if this sound awkward.. I told my uncle my plan though, asked if I can get an invite from Him and if I could stay at His place for some couple of weeks before I proceed to Border to seek for it. That's the plan all along... I'm sponsoring my trip but ofcourse I can't tell them that. The plan is to talk to my uncle and make it look like He's the one sponsoring everything..I don't know if anyone has used the method before but it seems it's the only option I have.I wish there was an alternative. Telling them I just want to visit isn't convincing enough I know, plus the fact that i don't have any travel history and I'm single too...I'm just confused though..But I really wanna leave..

Qlibra: On a second thought...What if I'm actually gay and that's my chance of leaving Nigeria? What if I'm saying the truth? What if my life is under a threat and the only way to leave faster is to seek Asylum even if not Canada or American.. Y'all are so unbelievable. Acting like saints.. Tsk! @spanishmilf passed His message without being rude, @Rein22 also made His point. The rest are just acting like, i don't even know how to describe it. You will get but just luck. Let me give you two instance. A childhood friend of mine came to me to help him process u.s visa. I did all the documentation but he and his wife had no travel history and statement of account wasn't good . He went and got the family visa. Just after 3 months, Another of my big boss came to me to process his family visa, he also hasn't travel before but this time he is a multi-millionaires with houses in choice area in Abuja, PH and Lagos. His account balance when he went to the embassy was 80million and total 6months was 260million naira but he and his family were denied visa...lol So you see how difficult it is sometimes. But having good traveling history already give you 50% chance. 2 Likes |

I may not be a visa expert, but I can offer you some insight. U.S. immigration law requires consular officers to view every visa applicant as an intending immigrant until the applicant proves otherwise. Every applicant is presumed to be an intending immigrant and must prove that they will return to their homeland when their permitted stay runs out. My question to you is this. How does someone else sponsoring your trip in its entirety help prove that you will return to your home country at then end of your visit? Does this really help your application? If I were you, I would focus on establishing ties to which the VO is bound by law rather than relying solely on proving finances to which they can excercise discretion. 3 Likes |
