I often laugh when semi-literate citizens make these kinds of comments about the civil war.

The civil war was NOT an Igbo Vs All other tribes war. It was a civil war between a breakaway Region and the the Country. It was NEVER a tribal affairs.

Truth be told, if the ammo available to Nigerian troops was available to Biafran troops, history would've been made.

I'm proud seeing men with little or no formal military training displaying rare military moves and skills. smiley

Please explain the method and the rationale for the last paragraph.

JonDon12:

That Ibo Officers killed the Sardauna, does not make it right for people to go on a massacre of Ibos. Plus this was a pogrom aided by military officers.

I agree with you, we need a better life. We can do three things; Try to work in the status quo. This I think is unfeasible and has been proven a failure. We can try and Refederalise Nigeria or maybe into a much looser cofederate structure. We did this in 1960 to 1967 and was inaccepable to everybody except Northern Elites like Balewa and Bello who neglected their own region and went adventuring in the west. This has some pitfalls and minefields but on the other hand can be easily achieved peacefully

Third Option is split. I see this as the best option. A split into 4 countries with none of them being landlocked.
Re: Rare Video Of Biafran Special Forces Attacking And Advancing On Ikot Ekpene. by oyatz(m): 5:31am On Dec 28, 2019
Did the Biafrans really assessed their amoury, food & medicinal supplies , DEPENDABLE ALLIES and the overall chances of winning before opting for war?

Did the Biafrans think like this when Ojukwu just before the start of the war declared (in a veiled attempt to frighten the Nigerian side) that ' I have the most advanced army in Black Africa'?

okeyglm:
menh see the kind double barrel gun this guys are using while Nigeria side are using automatic ak 47. a big salute to our great heros (biafrans).if only we had 1/4 of the weapons this Nigerian side are using . the less will be a history

Bros, wars are NOT won by emotions or bravery but by great armies with good strategies.

1) If war break out today, the Igbos will be nearly annilated.

2) In the 1960s, the Igbos were in charge of a significant portion of Nigeria with a corresponding portion of 'inherited' Nigerian military.

3) Today, the Igbos have no army and aren't in charge of any military organization in the Country. How many Military officers in the present day Nigeria are Igbos?

4) The Igbo don't have large quantity of oil or ready made mineral resources to give Russia or the so-called Foreign allies in exchange for military support.

No European countries will fight any war without getting something return.

What will Igbos give them to get their millitary support?

The oil installations in the old Eastern region controlled by the Igbos are now located in the S/South Region and any attempts by the Igbos to lay claim to these Region will be interpreted as Land grabbing by the Niger-Deltans, the rest of Nigeria and the International Community.
The Ijaws, Urhobos, Ogonis, Ibibios will sabotage the Biafrans again if Igbos try to annex their territories.

5) The last straw that will break the Camel's back;

(a) the Igbos are landlocked and have no INTERNATIONAL BORDERS.

(b) Igbos have no dependable allies among their neighbours.

Another Land, Sea and Air blockade will be far easier to effect and Biafria will capitulate in a month.

6) Igbos don't have military planes to be dropping Bombs on other Nigerian cities.

If Igbos are dropping Bombs on Lagos, Oshogbo, Ilorin etc. What do you think the other Non-Igbo Nigerians will do? Do you think they will sit down and be clapping for you?
Think deeply sir. You are suggesting exactly the same costly mistakes Ojukwu made in taking the war into Non-Biafran territories , stimulating uncommon patrotism which united other Nigerians to fight ferrociously against the Biafrans.

This didn't get Ojukwu the needed International sympathy but portrayed the Biafrans as the agressors. The same scenario will play out with greater devastating consequences for the Igbos.

All of the present Igbo Governors weren't as powerful as Ojukwu.

7) Boko Haram INSURGENCY is different from a CIVIL WAR.
Try to know the differences and modalities of dealing with them.

Don't pray for war. The Igbos are far in more disadvantaged position than in the 1960s.

cool Igbos can get Biafra easier through peaceful means than through wars.

Let's avoid war.

franchasng:
All Nigerians should pray there is no other civil war in Nigeria honestly because it will be a total mortal combat; fight to finish.

in 1967, Igbos allowed only Ojukwu to make the decision of not accepting foreign allies like Russia that gave an offer to Biafra but they turned it down thinking they could win Nigeria+Britain+Egypt and co on their own.

This time around, Igbos will go into ally with not just Russia, but any available foreign power and mercenaries because we know better now than in 1967.

Again, Britain no longer have much interest in Nigeria like in 1967 and Britain cannot even protect their own nation now to talk of going to Africa to help another nation fight when their economy is not that stable....so Nigeria won't be getting as much full allies as in 1967.

Again, Biafra didn't have jet fighters, bombers, etc to go to other Nigerian cities like Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan, Kano, Kaduna, Oshogbo, Ilorin, Makurdi, Jos, etc to drop bombs....should another war happen, be rest assured that bombs will be dropping in all Nigerian cities and towns.

It is also worthy to note that the Middlebelt people who played key role in helping to push Nigerian soldiers into Biafran soil through Ebonyi/Enugu have become wiser, they even regret joining force with Hausa-Fulani and Yoruba to fight Biafra, so don't expect all Middlebelt tribes to join force in fighting against Biafra should another civil war break out today.

You can imagine how difficult it is for Nigerian military to contend ordinary ragtag Boko Haram militants now, so think of another full blown civil war in 2020something, its going to be completely bloody....I doubt if there will be many survivors in Nigeria because Igbos home and abroad will be so brutal this time I swear....watching these clips brought tears to my eyes, I feel like the war should be repeated now angry angry angry

Another deluded Igbo dishing out foolishness, the massacre of the Igbo is not the cause of the war, event such has the Igbo dominated coup where the prime minister an Hausa man n the premier of both the North n Western Region were exterminated are thing that led to the massacre but the Igbo will gracefully overlook that to suit their narrative.

All the nonsense story of Nigeria suffering happened before Buhari n it still happening under him so nothing will happen even with your wailing. You are just hurt Buhari is the president. We all might not like his style of govt but you lamentation ain't got nothing on him.

JonDon12:

I don't want war but Nigeria as a whole is not a viable option. Let us not forget what caused the war in the first place. The massacre of the Ibos. This was a Biggest and bloodiest symptom of The main problem with Nigeria. Its unworkability and unfeasibility due to its structure. This manifested itself in the inability of the Nigerian government to protect its citizens from pogroms in 1967. This is the same problem we are having now. Boko Haram, Fulani herdsmen killings, Banditry, Buhari Tyranny and his unlawful disregard of the law.

NIgerians are suffering and still dying. There have been Fulani clashes in almost all of our 36 states in Nigeria. One estimate says that they kill over 5000 nigerians have died annually due to Fulani Herdsmen activities. SO although I believe War is horrible, In practice we are already at war

You Igbos with lies deception n foolishness. When will you fools learn to say the truth ? Was it only Balewa n Bello who neglected their region ? Did the lunatic Azikwe not leave his region to come drag Lagos with Awolowo ? When will foolish Igbols wake up from their self inflicted deluded amnesia of history ?!

A foolish Igbo will expect no retaliatory reaction from majority uneducated n jihad orientated northerner after the cold murder of their legitimate democratic elected leader but believes Igbo deserves the right to retaliate with war if a cursed soul with no legitimacy even among Igbos like Kanu is killed by Buhari.

This is,the irony or foolishness in tot we sensible Nigerians have to deal with from this clowns from Biafra on a daily, year by year.

Igbos n grandstanding... Lol.

But the German did not lament Awo didn't bring them food, paid reparation for the war n still unified their country after all of that so they have a genuine reason to be proud Igbo land till date is an unified shit hole where Osu caste rubbish reign supreme in the 21st century. Aside chest beating I see nothing to be proud of as Igbo.

franchasng:
Yes Ojukwu made a mistake not accepting Russia's offer because if he had accepted Russia's offer, Biafra would have won hands down because Biafra at the start of the war was already pushing the Nigerian troops off not until Britain + Egypt + others brought in air support plus increase ammunition supply to the Nigerian side that then increased Nigerian army's firepower....and coupled with Awolowo's change of currency policy that made it difficult for Biafra to import food for Biafrans, which caused starvation of Biafran soldiers and pushed many Biafran soldiers into loosing morale and courage to fight more because they became hungry, and some turned to saboteurs giving out Biafran military info to Nigerian troops just so they could get food to eat and send to their starving family members.

Igbos are truly a brave tribe.

Germany lost the 2nd world war, but the whole world fear and respect Germany till date because Germany alone held the whole Europe and their allies in a bloody world war from 1945 - 1949......which is the same thing Igbos did; held the rest of Nigeria+Britain+Egypt+Other allies in a bloody, closely contested civil war from 1966 - 1969, which other tribe can beat that record No wonder Hausa-Fulanis fear Igbo uprising like kilode.

I am proud to be an Igbo man cool

You dont really understand what's going on in Nigeria and the people that will be in charge of the war you won't say all this.

The question is can the south East withstand battle against others regions of Nigeria?

This time is gonna be Igbo's alone.

You made some valid points that I won't argue.

Igbos have no dependable neighbor ally; that's true based on what some Niger Delta youths say online anyway, but who knows what the majority are saying in real life

Don't let all the nonsense some small boys from Niger Delta tribes or some Yoruba and Hausa-Fulani boys disguised as Niger Delta people say here deceive you. Niger Delta don't hate Igbos, they are brothers. Take a look at Goodluck Jonathan's government, who were the pillars of his government Who were the people Goodluck an Ijaw man from Bayelsa trusted more

Goodluck broke so many conspiracies Hausa-Fulanis and Yorubas had against Igbos since the end of the war. Goodluck broke their heart and appointed an Igbo man the Chief of Army Staff they swore that an Igbo man will never occupy. So don't bank on the illusion that Niger Delta will fight against Biafra or abandon Igbos, don't be too sure okay

Igbos have no mineral resources to give to European nations or for their own use

You are very wrong here. I want to inform you that Southeast have as much crude oil as Niger Delta, but Hausa-Fulani and Yoruba controlled Nigerian federal government have sabotaged Southeast since 1970 by abandoning all Southeast crude oil sites just to keep Southeast impoverished and to discourage Igbos from seeking for Biafra.

This was the reason they quickly carved out Southsouth states from Eastern Nigeria shortly after the civil war ended and called them Niger Delta to neutralize the Igbos and to discourage Igbos from seeking for Biafra because they want Igbos to be scared and to also believe that Southeast is landlocked and doesn't have crude oil.

But I want to tell you boldly that there are so many intentionally abandoned crude oil sites in Southeast. My friend who worked with Exxon as a Geologist before he relocated to the US as an exploration specialist, once told me that the conspiracy against Igbos is too much.

That his boss, a German engineer once told him that Nigerian government don't want them to explore some crude oil sites in Southeast region for reason he cannot tell.

An uncle who also worked with AGIP in PHC have told us similar story.

I was once in the sector but not in exploration so I know some things you don't know.

Nekede have crude oil fields unexplored. Ohaji Egbema too. There are many in Abia state. Anambra has some, even though some of them are still under dispute and FG really want Anambra to lose them.

As we speak, Adax Petroleum is doing a full crude exploration for decades now at Uguta, Imo state, which accounts for part of Nigeria's crude oil revenue today. Southeast have crude oil enough, stop allowing Nigerian government lies and propaganda against Igbos to be deceiving you.

Southeast is landlocked
Partially yes but not entirely true. River Niger can be opened. Uguta lake. Owerri-nta river too. These rivers and lakes have been studied by experts as part of Igbo people efforts ahead.

You should know that Igbos have professionals home and abroad in these fields. Igbos are not just the uneducated traders you see in Oshodi, Onitsha, Alaba, Kano, etc. Igbo have world class professionals in all fields of life. I am one of them and I will be so more than ready to offer my years of professional expertise to Biafra anytime no matter where I maybe at the time.

Igbos dominated Nigerian military then in 1967 but not same now

Yes you are correct. But if I tell you how many Igbo sons who are serving military personnel in US, and other countries willing to return to fight for Biafra, you will be shocked.

Beside that, most of the fearless soldiers who made up majority of Biafra soldiers in 1967 were not trained soldiers, most volunteered out of passion for Biafra freedom, some were conscripted into the Biafra army. Even women volunteered. We had Aba women driving Biafra armored tanks and they were never trained soldiers but volunteers.

One of my uncle who was a top officer (technician) working with Nigerian Railway Corporation in Lagos before the war broke out volunteered as Biafra Commandos who were trained in a hurry to go and attack Nigerian army batallions with bare hands and cruse local weapons to secure ammunition for Biafra.

He said they were as dangerous and angry like wild animals that roared and Nigerian soldiers with sophisticated British supplied weapons could not stand them but ran away and abandoned their weapon and base whenever they attacked.

He said they fought to die not minding death or risk, their mission was to die saving Biafra, so they fought ruthlessly without fear.

And war is won not just by holding sophisticated weapon alone but having the bravity and courage to use it against your enemy.

I can tell you for free that every Igbo man or boy you see anywhere is a raging lion burning of anger of the persecution by Hausa-Fulanis and Yorubas, they are trained attack dogs ready to annihilate a full military base once provoked.

Look at Boko Haram, just because their courage and braveness is higher than that of most of Nigerian soldiers, whenever they attack, our soldiers flee and abandon their sophisticated weapons for them, that is what braveness can do for you in war.

So don't even go there, just don't pray for another civil war.

Southeast don't have jet fighters and bombers

So all the jet fighters Nigeria have now are in Lagos airforce base

Again, did you ever watched Nnamdi Kanu global tours before 2015 election

Did you ever watched when he visited Malaysia, European countries, etc

Did you hear how much Igbo sons were donating freely for the Biafra cause

Are you aware that IPOB members nationwide pay monthly dues

Igbo sons and daughters at home and abroad will contribute money to buy the best of weapons to prosecute any other civil war against Biafra, bookmark this thread.

The money they will raise will shock the world. It will surpass crude oil revenue because Igbos are so passionate about Biafra no matter who they are or where they live.

I repeat, another civil war in Nigeria will be a total mortal combat, that last battle.....it will be so bloody I doubt if many will survive it in Nigeria

Igbo's can't even withstand the militia men in the Niger Delta talk less of fighting the regions of Nigeria.

Anyone who told you that Igbo's fought alone should wait and witness now that Igbo's will fight alone and see the difference.

Igbo's will regret their existence this time because it will be a set piece battle.

Igbos didn't fight alone, AkwaIbom, some part of Rivers, Delta, Bayelsa, and Cross River fought with Igbos.

And if you a Yoruba boy think Niger Delta people will join Hausa-Fulanis and Yoruba to fight Igbo or Biafra, then you must be vary high on ewedu mixed with gbegiri.

Niger Delta remains the closest brother to Igbos, it is beyond crude oil, Igbos have crude oil too (both the explored ones and abandoned ones), its a blood issue, check the names of some Niger Delta people and you will see that there is blood relationship between Igbos and some so called Niger Delta people.

I wonder why Yorubas are so pained that we have Igbo bloods answering Niger Delta today, Yorubas are really a dangerous tribe, far more dangerous than Hausa-Fulanis honestly angry

You made some valid points that I won't argue.

Igbos have no dependable neighbor ally; that's true based on what some Niger Delta youths say online anyway, but who knows what the majority are saying in real life

So what is your conclusion?

You mean the Igbos will defeat a combination of Hausa & Yoruba with all their affiliated minorities?

This is exactly the same costly mistake Ojukwu made that led to the massacre of his people. Biafran war is not a conventional war in the sense, it’s just genocide.

Hear this, you will need the Yorubas on your side to fight a war in Nigeria and win. You should know what I’m saying coz the spirit of Awo is still alive in every sons and daughter of Oduduwa. That is brain and tactics.

War itself is not about gun and ammunitions alone, it’s about logistics. You need a faster route for your supplies so that you restock weapon when you’re out of them. You also need international route, so that you can mitigate against blockade by the federal side.

Also, if the war your envisaging make Yorubas your enemy, then you should know the several millions of Igbos in Yorubaland will be at risk with their resources. If the Yorubas go the savagery route like the Hausa/Fulani then we would have massacred thousands of you before you run back to the East.

Also the Yorubas have several international borders with our brothers in other border countries. For example we can negotiate with Benin government to use their domain as a source of supply. That means we’ve solved the issue of logistics in war.

Other things needed is international alliance, the Yoruba being almost 50/50% Muslim-Christian gives it a leverage on the international scene. With its wealth of professionals and international icons around the world it will be easier to solicit for support. Remember war is a game of alliance, even the almighty USA never goes to war alone. They always go in Union with their allies.

Ask yourself, what has changed since the Biafran war about the attitude and lifestyle of the Igbos? None. You have not learnt anything, you are still residing outside your region in your numbers, meaning you’re at risk. Your wealth is still more concentrated in other regions which means you can be bankrupt in a war. Your land is still landlocked and I’m not sure you can feed yourself in a war situation, which means the blockade policy can still apply to you.

Infact if I am a war general, I will just review the policies used against you guys in 1967-1970, and replay the same scene then boom I’ve solved 30% of the problem even before the start of the war

In conclusion, even if there is going to be war like you claimed, if the Igbos ever made the mistake of going to the said war with the Yorubas as their enemies, then the replay of 1967 will be repeated and this time more deadly with higher casualties.

You don't have sense, you Yorubas are lovers of injustice, and if you guys continue on this stupid path, nature will visit your land with same.

1966 coup was never an Igbo coup. Google the real names of all the soldiers that carried out that coup, you will see Igbo, Yoruba, Ijaw, Bini, Idoma, Hausa, Tiv, etc among them. But Hausa-Fulanis and Yoruba controlled government after the coup intentionally removed the names of the other soldiers from other tribes to paint it an Igbo coup.

Did Nzeogwu and co consulted Igbo people forum Did they even carried Ojukwu or Ironsi along

Ojukwu foiled the coup in Eastern Nigeria.

Ironsi foiled the coup in Lagos.

How can it be Igbo coup

Okay agreed it was an Igbo coup and politicians and soldiers from the north and southwest got killed, Northern soldiers revenged in the 1966 counter coup and killed Igbo leader Ironsi and plenty other top ranking Igbo officers.

It is a military and political class affairs, what concerns civilians

When Nzeogwu and co carried out the first coup and killed Saudana, Belewa and co, did civilian Igbos started killing Hausa-Fulanis living in the east like they conquered the nation

Why did Northerners started killing Igbos even after the counter coup if not for envy of Igbo dominance and success back then

Stop defending bloody Hausa-Fulanis, what they did in 1966 pogrom, they are doing the same today against Middlebelt people that thought they were their brothers. And if they get the chance they will do same to Yorubas, so keep your watery mouth shut and stop defending evil before evil befall your entire generation!!!

1966 pogrom was the imminent cause of the Nigerian civil war.

If you doubt it, grab any foreign journalists' reports about the events and read and stop talking what you don't know

You guys should stop embarrassing yourselves....your tribesman, Philip Effiong was the Vice President of Biafra from 1967 - 1969, stop embarrassing yourself....Hausa-Fulani will turn you to suya, they don't give a damn about you, thank Igbos for always standing up for you instead of coming here to embarrass yourself always forming Niger Delta nonsense.

Major Chukwuma Nzeogwu that led the first coup that made Igbos to lose grip of Nigeria they dominated politically, etc was not from Southeast, he is from Okpanam Asaba, Delta State but Igbos never abandoned him or tagged him Niger Delta or Delta Igbo...Igbos stood by him till death, but you guys will come here to yan dust always thinking that you are making sense but you don't know that you are fooling yourselves because the Hausa-Fulani and even Yorubas don't give a flying Bleep about you guys except for the crude oil in your land angry angry

Yes Ojukwu and Aguiyi Ironsi stopped Adaka Boro from trying to secede Rivers State from Nigeria before 1966, and that's the only flimsy, stupid reason some unguarded Niger Delta people give as their reason for hating Biafra and Igbos despite Igbos show of solidarity and love for them for decades that is born out of blood relationship not as a result of any mineral resources which is also found in some parts of Igbo land.

Make una try get sense small abeg angry angry
Lol if war should break out we akwa ibomites will never fight for Nigeria. We will fight alongside the igbos to achieve our own country which is Niger Delta or akwa cross republic. Another war in Nigeria will be like the break up of yuglosovia because the Niger Delta, igbos and middle belt will all fight together to achieve their own countries. I don't know about the yorubas tho, can't really be trusted. But one thing is sure that the south south can never fight for one Nigeria. We might not trust the igbos but the one thing I agree on is one Nigeria is shit. It'll be like the break up of yuglosovia or the soiviet union because many nation's will be born.

Don’t mind them. I don’t know why they sometimes exhibit the chimpanzee syndrome of chestbeating for nothing.

There are lot of mercenaries that fought on their side but they all like to wallow in their self induced lies that they fought the world alone. I LOL

A simple look on Wikipedia shows those on their side and those on the federal side. There are several images of white guys fighting alongside biafrans and the ammunitions used in the war are foreign made as against the self-delusion that they made their own weapon. Lol, the person that sold that story to them was actually on weed and he is lucky he got uninformed people to dish his propaganda to.

1.) Yorubas are supporters of injustice and evil! An average Yoruba man can lie that blue is black just to defend an evil he supports.

According to Yorubas and their media, Hausa-Fulanis never did any wrong against Igbos in 1966, it was Igbos that caused the war because a few young Igbo officers and officers from other tribes carried out a coup and killed some northern leaders and leaders from other tribes, therefore all Igbos deserve to be killed for that, and Ojukwu taking a step to stop the unnecessary killing of Igbos by Northerners while the then President Gowon turned blind eye like Buhari does today meant Ojukwu killed 3 million Igbos, all because Yoruba want to benefit from the crude oil found in Eastern Nigeria then.

2.) Yorubas are selfish and wicked; so long as it is not happening in their land, the rest of Nigeria can born while they party for all they care.

3.) An average Yoruba man is cunning, double faced, his support and trust faces where his stomach is.
