slimthugchimee2:Yes we have very many strikers doing creditably well around the world but the coach Rohr has a policy of inviting them based on current form while also limiting the total number of the said strikers to a specific figure since all the strikers cannot make up the whole starting 11 every now and then |

Truer words have never been spoken. The NFF is rotten to the core. I mean, why isn't Picnic more concerned about the teams that are not performing? Instead he wants to feck up the only national team that is producing results. O pari charlesemeka85: 1 Like |

Eseose9:Very good question from you to him Dear. Can a true 16, 17 or 18 years old even be found in the league? I bet you it would be a 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 or even a 25 years old that would be claiming to be 17, 18 at the moment. A true Super talented 16, 17, 18 years old doesn't have the money to bribe his way through to the top NPFL clubs let alone to be exposed to the world from the NPFL platform 1 Like 1 Share |

Iheanacho scored but he wasn't really impressive today bkus he didnt have much services, plus he didnt quite run the channels as good as he is reputed for, he often got sandwiched btwn two CBs. In a match, he should learn not to put his foot off the pedal just bkus he's registered a goal, today he became lackadaisical after registering his name on the score sheet. Nacho isn't a point man, he would have done better behind a main striker. That said, playing with players like Gray, Albrighton, Barnes, poor Ayoze et al, really can be frustrating for any striker 9 Likes 1 Share |

Iheanacho did ok for his limited service. I have seen Vardy have games like this but his goals overshadow the lack of service. 12 Likes 3 Shares |

TheGoodJoe:Every person would want to employ the best personnel to get the best efforts and results from their jobs including Rohr and identifying football talents is not rocket science. The structure and organization of our leagues over the years have been so shambolic that our best talents even at cadet levels are based abroad or overseas-bound. The NFF and LMC needs to put their house in order, once we get our leagues right, u don’t need to compel any national team coach to stay and watch any league....if his best personnel are here, he will gladly discover and use dem! |

zayyadidris:he might have failed to make good use of those through balls and space in the first half and also be at the right spot on time. But the Leceister team found the game difficult in the second half. The most important thing for him as a striker is that he delivered once again when it matters. 5 Likes |

Eseose9: Tell that to Amokachi who became a quality player in football and went on to have some memorable games with the Super Eagles. It only shows how thorough Westerhof was, not only relying on foreign based talents. He used the home based players to create serious competition in the team. Keep in mind we won the U17 World Cup while Westerhof was coach of the Super Eagles. He actually knew the U17 team inside out and had a fall out with the U17 coach based on the tactical approach of the later regarding Kanu Nwankwo. Not to go to Europe and lounge and collect salary, saying you are working. 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe: am really disappointed in you sir how many national team in the world do their national team coach scout for U-17, football has evolve raw talents are discovered by age grade coach and club academies. TAA was discovered by Liverpool Ansu Fati by Barca Oshimen and Samu by Amunike etc this Era of football clubs and age grade coach scout for raw gem not NT coach 3 Likes 1 Share |

TheGoodJoe: How can you be comparing football in the early 1990s to 2019?? It is ludicrous. No one in the local scene is on super eagles level. Any Nigerian player with small talent is either in Europe or on their way.. We have under 17 and under 20 coaches to pick outstanding youngsters. Those players need a few more years to develop. Rohr can do a lot more work in Europe. He can scout upcoming Nigerian talents. He can meet with his players and speak to them. He can meet diaspora players that can improve our team. Sitting in Nigeria looking for the odd talent is a waste of time. 7 Likes |

2lola: Rohr should be in the country and involved in what is going on in the local scene. Staying in Europe as if it is none of his business does not add up when we are forking a fortune to keep him. We are not de La creme to have all our talents in top academies in the World like the English, French, Brazilians, Argentina etc. The National team coach needs to stay involved. |

tbaba1234: Westerhof was fully informed and participated in actions of our players in Europe. News even had it that he had foreign contacts to help move local talents to foreign clubs. That did not stop him from participating with what was going on in the local scene and age grade levels. Keshi could select his CHAN team himself. Rohr has no clue. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by tbaba1234: 9:33pm On Dec 28, 2019 |
TheGoodJoe: Rohr's responsibility is not to develop the local league. The way to develop the local league is not to have Rohr sit in Nigeria. Why can't our local sides have standard academies to churn out fresh talents for the league? Is it Rohr's presence that will change that? 2 Likes |

andrewbaba44: I am not getting it wrong. My opinion is not popular. You can not tell me the National team coach of a country like Nigeria earns a fortune and has no idea what is going on in the local scene, because he must live in Europe. That does not work. |

TheGoodJoe: Rohr's impact in the super eagles have been outstanding. Our players are in Spain, France, England, Italy, Germany. When was the last time we had that? Rohr put in a word to get Lokosa into Esperance. CHAN has been of no benefit to to super eagles. No need for Rohr to be involved in that. It has no benefit for the first team. |

tbaba1234: I remember reading that Guardiola as Coach of Bayern Munich held some coaching clinics to help brush up the tactics of local coaches in Germany. That was not his responsibility. This is even a club coach, let alone a National team coach having no clue. |

tbaba1234: Which Rohr got our players in England, Italy, Germany? Is it Balogun or Iheanacho or Osimhen or Chukwueze or who? Go and check Salisu's list before Rohr, a lot of the players Rohr uses today were in the team before him. Did Rohr contribute to the growth of our local academies or play his part in the age grades? So how is it his impact? |

TheGoodJoe:earns a fortune? LOL, that's a stretch Y'all aren't paying Rohr enough to deal with NFF's bulls#*t and still walk about looking for 'talents' in the local league (so that his wallet can be stolen again). And sure, it is easy to say let him go elsewhere, but anywhere else Rohr goes, he will be fine. Will Nigeria be fine? 1 Like |

tbaba1234: Which work in Europe? The clubs are doing the bulk work for him. If Leicester City drops Iheanacho, he drops Iheanacho, if Pepe Mel plays Uzoho, he calls Uzoho, if Graham Potter drops Balogun, he drops Balogun. If Villareal plays Chukwueze, he calls Chukwueze. Which work is he doing? Let him sit home and do the work where it is. 1 Like |
