Because voting in Nigeria is about who is closest to the sharing of the money, not about who is the 'ideas' candidate....and also because voting a 'sane' candidate could lead to choices like cutting government spending...which most Nigerians don't want.

See the problem is that their seems to be many uneducated Nigerians and illegal immigrants living in the country than the educated ones. It is easy to sell a candidate in whole South but difficult to do same in North and Nigerians choose incompetency to competency. Since Northerners mostly use illegal Almajiri immigrants to cause over-voting it would be hard for a sound candidate Like Moghalu or anyother person to win

Well, the truth is, even in parties that 'favour' the South, Moghalu is not popular.(Why didn't PDP choose someone like him in 2015 or 19...??)

Plus, the North can be beaten. All them Almajiris voted for Buhari in 2003 and 07, and even 2011...PDP still won.(With Southern candidates even) PDP lost in 2015 largely because they mishandled the middle belt. (and in places like Benue, the vote was in essence a referedum on the outgoing PDP governor...not a vote for GEJ or Buhari). And PDP nearly won in 2019.

And Moghalu did not even get up to fifity thousand votes in 2019 in the whole South and Middle Belt PDP...the Southern Party (for now) did not even look his way. Same way APC does not look the way of people like Duortoye. Because Nigerians ..Northern or Southern...don't like ideal candidates...they like candidates who promise to make the sharing formula 'fairer'.
