The last presidential election just ended in 2019 and we are busy debating and creating headlines on who will be the next president. It's so easy to manipulate the masses. 2 Likes 1 Share |

PDP must never ever zone their ticket to any region until APC does same. The people pushing PDP to zone their ticket are simply trying to destroy it from within. |

2buffagain: Because voting in Nigeria is about who is closest to the sharing of the money, not about who is the 'ideas' candidate....and also because voting a 'sane' candidate could lead to choices like cutting government spending...which most Nigerians don't want. 1 Like |

crownwealth: Tinubu probably won't get the ticket in 2023... Hard sell to the rest of the country, and even in the SW, not overwhelmingly popular. 3 Likes |

Bedwyr:See the problem is that their seems to be many uneducated Nigerians & illegal migrants living in the North than the educated ones. It is easy to sell a candidate in the whole South but difficult to do same in the North due to their high level of illiteracy/tribalism also Nigerians always choose incompetency over competency. Since Northerners mostly use immigrant Almajiri to cause over-voting it would be hard for a sound candidate Like Moghalu or anyother person to win. If you watch in the last election Peter Obi was widely accepted by sane Nigerians in the whole South only the ignorant/tribalistic ones in the North voted for APC. |

VirginSearcher: Well, the truth is, even in parties that 'favour' the South, Moghalu is not popular.(Why didn't PDP choose someone like him in 2015 or 19...??) Plus, the North can be beaten. All them Almajiris voted for Buhari in 2003 and 07, and even 2011...PDP still won.(With Southern candidates even) PDP lost in 2015 largely because they mishandled the middle belt. (and in places like Benue, the vote was in essence a referedum on the outgoing PDP governor...not a vote for GEJ or Buhari). And PDP nearly won in 2019. And Moghalu did not even get up to fifity thousand votes in 2019 in the whole South and Middle Belt PDP...the Southern Party (for now) did not even look his way. Same way APC does not look the way of people like Duortoye. Because Nigerians ..Northern or Southern...don't like ideas candidates...they like candidates who promise to make the sharing formula 'fairer'. 2 Likes |

2buffagain:they will always be voted because others don't have the financial might, Nigerians will rather sell their votes to crooks and complain about corruption later than voting for a sensible person. The ones we think that they have sense gets corrupted once they get their anyway. God help our future. |

Bedwyr:Moghalu did not carryout intense campaign, I don't even know any state he visited apart from his state and Enugu. Nigerian politics is like if you dont have the support or backing of the criminals you won't win. I believe you PDP lost a lot of votes from middle belt but don't forget their was massive rigging by APC thru vote inflation. I agree with your last assertion too |

I agree it is early now for the party to be specific about where the Presidency will come from. They need to gauge people's mood and test the waters. 1 Like |
