oyatz: Bros, wars are NOT won by emotions or bravery but by great armies with good strategies.
1) If war break out today, the Igbos will be nearly annilated.
2) In the 1960s, the Igbos were in charge of a significant portion of Nigeria with a corresponding portion of 'inherited' Nigerian military.
3) Today, the Igbos have no army and aren't in charge of any military organization in the Country. How many Military officers in the present day Nigeria are Igbos?
4) The Igbo don't have large quantity of oil or ready made mineral resources to give Russia or the so-called Foreign allies in exchange for military support.
No European countries will fight any war without getting something return.
What will Igbos give them to get their millitary support?
The oil installations in the old Eastern region controlled by the Igbos are now located in the S/South Region and any attempts by the Igbos to lay claim to these Region will be interpreted as Land grabbing by the Niger-Deltans, the rest of Nigeria and the International Community. The Ijaws, Urhobos, Ogonis, Ibibios will sabotage the Biafrans again if Igbos try to annex their territories.
5) The last straw that will break the Camel's back;
(a) the Igbos are landlocked and have no INTERNATIONAL BORDERS.
(b) Igbos have no dependable allies among their neighbours.
Another Land, Sea and Air blockade will be far easier to effect and Biafria will capitulate in a month.
6) Igbos don't have military planes to be dropping Bombs on other Nigerian cities.
If Igbos are dropping Bombs on Lagos, Oshogbo, Ilorin etc. What do you think the other Non-Igbo Nigerians will do? Do you think they will sit down and be clapping for you? Think deeply sir. You are suggesting exactly the same costly mistakes Ojukwu made in taking the war into Non-Biafran territories , stimulating uncommon patrotism which united other Nigerians to fight ferrociously against the Biafrans.
This didn't get Ojukwu the needed International sympathy but portrayed the Biafrans as the agressors. The same scenario will play out with greater devastating consequences for the Igbos.
All of the present Igbo Governors weren't as powerful as Ojukwu.
7) Boko Haram INSURGENCY is different from a CIVIL WAR. Try to know the differences and modalities of dealing with them.
Don't pray for war. The Igbos are far in more disadvantaged position than in the 1960s.
Igbos can get Biafra easier through peaceful means than through wars.
Let's avoid war.
#IgboAmaka #NigeriaAmaka
Lol. Your type don't reason with emotions and your prejudice against Igbos is glaring. We know are enemies and they're not those who are rational to understand freedom. Our enemies are the 'One Nigerianists' who support the evil government of Nigeria to suppress us. Every regions position is easily determined today as information transmission is very easy at present. So, we know our enemies. Igbos know it's going to be an annihilation warfare. One thing is certain at the end and that is that Nigeria will never remain one. Who will gain more from both sides? I'm sure you know it is us that want freedom. We won't pity those that will be trapped in Nigeria with the fulanis. Ponder on this. |

LegendHer0:
So what is your conclusion?
You mean the Igbos will defeat a combination of Hausa & Yoruba with all their affiliated minorities?
This is exactly the same costly mistake Ojukwu made that led to the massacre of his people. Biafran war is not a conventional war in the sense, it’s just genocide.
Hear this, you will need the Yorubas on your side to fight a war in Nigeria and win. You should know what I’m saying coz the spirit of Awo is still alive in every sons and daughter of Oduduwa. That is brain and tactics.
War itself is not about gun and ammunitions alone, it’s about logistics. You need a faster route for your supplies so that you restock weapon when you’re out of them. You also need international route, so that you can mitigate against blockade by the federal side.
Also, if the war your envisaging make Yorubas your enemy, then you should know the several millions of Igbos in Yorubaland will be at risk with their resources. If the Yorubas go the savagery route like the Hausa/Fulani then we would have massacred thousands of you before you run back to the East.
Also the Yorubas have several international borders with our brothers in other border countries. For example we can negotiate with Benin government to use their domain as a source of supply. That means we’ve solved the issue of logistics in war.
Other things needed is international alliance, the Yoruba being almost 50/50% Muslim-Christian gives it a leverage on the international scene. With its wealth of professionals and international icons around the world it will be easier to solicit for support. Remember war is a game of alliance, even the almighty USA never goes to war alone. They always go in Union with their allies.
Ask yourself, what has changed since the Biafran war about the attitude and lifestyle of the Igbos? None. You have not learnt anything, you are still residing outside your region in your numbers, meaning you’re at risk. Your wealth is still more concentrated in other regions which means you can be bankrupt in a war. Your land is still landlocked and I’m not sure you can feed yourself in a war situation, which means the blockade policy can still apply to you.
Infact if I am a war general, I will just review the policies used against you guys in 1967-1970, and replay the same scene then boom I’ve solved 30% of the problem even before the start of the war In conclusion, even if there is going to be war like you claimed, if the Igbos ever made the mistake of going to the said war with the Yorubas as their enemies, then the replay of 1967 will be repeated and this time more deadly with higher casualties.
We know our enemies and we know those who aren't our friends too. We've learnt our lessons. We weren't aggressors at the first time and weren't prepared because everything happened so fast. Today is a different ball game. We already saw raw hatred and we understand it's implication. It's going to be a war of annihilation but at the end, Nigeria will never remain one with Igbos inside of it. I don't pity the tribes that will be locked up with fulanis in the leftover Nigeria. |

My question is what has changed from 1970? Nothing! There has never been a war that can be termed a war of annihilation especially if you know the meaning of that word. Expecting the global power to care about you is tantamount to false hope. In a war, it depends of the allies you can muster and the money or resources to purchase/ bargain ammunitions and supplies. You need logistics with a well guarded route such that your enemies won’t be able to use blockade against you. The world powers won’t just support you for supporting sake, hell no, nothing goes for nothing. It now have to depend on your internal power first then coupled with the spirit of bringing in useful allies. In 1967, the Igbos still have some major stake in the military and some installations were installed in the eastern region. Now the Fulanis have systematically decimated you in your numbers in the military and the installments is now majorly concentrated in the north. Cameroon the border country is now in hostility against you due to the effect of Ambazonian people, they will think allying with Biafra in a war against Nigeria implies that they are agreeing to ambazonia secession. That leaves you with a weak point coz it implies blockade can be used against you successfully which meant you can be isolated. The only hope is air force raid and that will depend on the foreign power you can muster to be on your side (especially air weapons). The Libya effect coupled with the Sahara arms trade means ammunitions can easily come through the North border and the constant fight against Boko Haram implies there will be enormous supply of ammunition within that region. Don’t make a mistake that the world power will come to your aid in the first year of the war, they don’t do such. Even if they are gonna show it will be in the form of aids and Red Cross or bringing supplies for the vulnerable. However, having the Yorubas as your partner in the war will solve some of the logistics and border issues. We have Benin republic bordering is with the Yoruba blood among some of them, those border link multiple countries along that domain. Lagos is now in the hands of the Yorubas as against being the federal capital during the war. Igbos and Yorubas fighting alongside will be far better than being enemies. Make no mistake, if you go to any war as a separate entity with the Yorubas as your enemy, then you can be 100% sure that you guys will suffer more casualties than those you suffered during the Biafran war. This time more devastating! (I can list out few reasons to back this). 2 Likes |

What concerns civilians with military affairs
You guys reason like fools.
Go and read BBC reporters' account of the 1966 pogrom against Igbos, they reported it as not just a provocation as a result of the 1966 coup, but an execution of a long plan out of envy and anger against Igbos for being the most successful and dominant tribe in Nigeria as that time. Use google and read foreign accounts of the 1966 Nigerian political turmoil and learn.
The 1966 pogrom that Gowon refused to stop instead Nigerian military were rather helping the northern civilians to massacre innocent Igbos living peacefully in the north before the coup was the imminent cause of the Nigerian civil war. Same is happening today. If Middlebelt had courageous soldiers now like before, the incessant killing of their people by Fulani herdsmen and Buhari's refusal to stop Fulani terrorists from killing innocent Middlebelt people is enough to cause another civil war!!!
Is the same thing not happening today Haven't you been hearing reports of Nigerian soldiers helping to disarm villagers and community vigilante groups hours or minutes before Fulani herdsmen strikes

Did the Biafrans think like this when Ojukwu just before the start of the war declared (in a veiled attempt to frighten the Nigerian side) that ' I have the most advanced army in Black Africa'?
The question you should ask was Biafra allowed to see a day of peaceful existence without foisted with a war of attrition? If Biafra was allowed a year of existence such questions would have been asked and reasonable answers would have been supplied too. Biafra did not start the war. Nigerian forces, without warning, attacked a peaceful region that decided to go its separate way. |

This was a Biggest and bloodiest symptom of The main problem with Nigeria. Its unworkability and unfeasibility due to its structure. This manifested itself in the inability of the Nigerian government to protect its citizens from pogroms in 1967. This is the same problem we are having now. Boko Haram, Fulani herdsmen killings, Banditry, Buhari Tyranny and his unlawful disregard of the law.

Adekunle had a brigade circled in Owerri, another brigade destroyed in Ogba-Egbama and another kicked back to Igurunta without structural command by the so-called rag-tag army. Shame on you. |

Dedetwo:
Yari.ba peeps are patented loudmouths and the poster of the above crap is a living example. What a goon. Benjamin Adekunle was never a good soldier. He was a mere mess officer, cook, before the war started. You can verify the pedigree of Adekunle from Alabi-Isama or alani akinrinade. You dey mind that overzealous idiot, the gnat doesn't even know the Western region was completely under the occupation of Northern troops before and during the outbreak of hostilities. The Yoruba people and leaders were so afraid of repatriating the Northern troops from their homeland, despite diplomatic overtures from the military governor of the Western region at the time Colonel Adebayo trying unsuccessfully to have the Northern soldiers sent back to their region... the Western region remained an occupied territory while the East leading up to the war remained the only region that challenged the North, and had all troops of Non-Eastern origin repatriated from the East... 1 Like |

NimrodEndOfDays: The day I will start taking you seriously is when you stop this your plenty Grammer and advocate for a Yoruba only country. How can you list all the achievements if the Yoruba people and what they are still achieving but still want to remain under the Fulanis who cannot even compare themselves to the Urohbos not to talk of the Yoruba people ? I still don't get Your people. What's the point of elaborating achievements that are not progressing under a United Nigeria? The Yorubas are retrogressing if you don't know that and so many tribes in Nigeria but you choose to be servile . Are you not proud to be Yoruba? We have several Yorubas that are advocating for an Odua nation. Although those voices are not yet in the majority but people are starting to stay more woke. However no region is serious about dividing Nigeria. Forget about the shout online by some secessionists, if your leaders are not lending their voices and actually putting in work, your children will still chant the same secessionist voices without it coming to fruition. Everybody has a way of approaching situation, the Yorubas most time don’t like dabbling into uncertainties and they most time hold divergent views to issue of discourse. We have some school of thought that believes restructuring will actually be more better than disintegration. There are also some school of thought that believes in a homogenous Odua nation of Yorubas and a breakup from the union called Nigeria. What you can achieve by restructuring into regions like the makeup of the 1950s will be enormous and I can also argue that it might actually be better than breaking up the country in a war. However every man to his cross, our leaders are all GOAT. They clamor restructuring when in opposition and speak a different tone when in government. Ask yourself, why did PDP not deem it fit to restructure Nigeria since 1999? The Igbos have a stake in PDP, why didn’t they clamor and fight for restructuring or secession even when Jonathan a close relation of theirs was in government for 6 years? Now the Tinubus that have been the frontmen for restructuring are backtracking simply because they are also in government while the PDP are now restructuring advocates. It tells you the political class continues to hold us by the jagula and we are all pawn in their games. No one of those political class is ready for either secession or restructuring. If you like shout Biafra online or restructuring from now till eternity, it won’t come to fruition if we still maintain these present Corp of selfish leaders. Drop pen! 1 Like |

Drop pen! not to sound pessimistic but restructuring will NEVER happen. i know you have been following the actions of the North whenever they are in Power. why and how people still believe that these people want the progress of Nigeria? all they want is POWER. how is this so difficult for we here in the south to understand? we all are retrogressing. and we are gradually becoming like them. uneducated, hopeless and unproductive. men, you guys in the SW need to take a stand. because i do not really understand what you guys want. my only problemis that i dont want your people interferring when we start the wahala with these people up North. because in as much as you think that our leaders in the NASS are realy fr us,then i guess you dont know much about Igbo people. we have taken our stand 1 Like |

If restructuring is very hard to achieve do you feel secession will be more easier? I like realistic talks, what path do you think you can go to achieve a new country even with the Yorubas by your side judging the current political situation of Nigeria? What is your proposition? A full blown war of the south against the core-North (purposely removed some part of middle belt) or a peaceful resolution among the leaders of the south and the north on a breakup. If you take the latter, then it will NEVER be possible since restructuring cannot be possible like you opined which leaves us with only the war route! Will be waiting for your answer. |

Will be waiting for your answer. The Yorubas are more diplomatic than the Igbos but the Igbos are more decisive. One reason why I want Igbos to be on their own is to achieve their own destiny. Do you love to always be under the shadows of the Fulanis? I believe so much in secession and it would take an extremely strong argument to change my mind. If we are threatened with War then we were never meant to be one in the first place. 1 Like |
