The only true solution to all of this is for us to fix our league. A functional league will have teams with quality first team players and truly young prospects in feeder teams waiting to grab their chances. Quality players will be more visible to coaches (no need to comb all the 774 local government areas and 10,000 wards to find them), and coaches of age grade teams will able to do their work properly (no age scandals, fewer tribalism allegations, etc).
We must understand however, that this is not a one man job. It's going to take fans, players, local coaches, the NFF, and even the government to fix this. Forcing Rohr to watch league games is really not a solution if there is no attempt to change ownership, improve the quality of pitches, players, broadcasting, etc. Rohr is a human being like Shehu Dikko and should not be expected to do what the entire NFF/LMC and their coaches have failed to do so far. The LMC cannot even set a calendar without changing the dates 50 times and the NFF clearly have a problem hiring quality youth coaches. Imo, Rohr is not the solution, the solution is to restructure the league and other things will sort themselves out.

I hope everyone had an enjoyable Christmas celebration/time of relaxation. Happy New year in advance smiley

Aubameyang is finding the EPL too easy and he is too good for arsenal

Dude deserves to be winning something every season and playing for a better club

I hope he leaves before he turns 33 there

Chelsea better watch their back, united, spurs and wolves are close to 4th position, Chelsea should be happy wolves are playing Liverpool unless they might just take the 4th position if Chelsea loose to arsenal grin

Nigeria to Renew Gernot Rohr's Contract With Conditions

By Duro Ikhazuagbe
As Nigerians look forward to the New Year with better performances from the country's national football teams, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has revealed plans to renew the contract of Super Eagles Head Coach, Gernot Rohr for another term.
The Franco-German who was contracted in 2016 for an initial two-year contract has been threatening to open talks with other countries if the NFF fails to speak on a new deal for him before the end of next month.
But yesterday, President of the NFF, Amaju Pinnick said in Lagos that Rohr's contract will be renewed but with stringent conditions that includes him staying in Nigeria.
"We are going to renew Rohr's contract with Nigeria before it expires. Unlike the previous contract, we are going to insist now that he stays in Nigeria with accommodation for him in which ever city he prefers between Abuja and Lagos," revealed the NFF chief during a media parley in Lagos yesterday.
Rohr's initial monthly salary of $45,000 was increased to $55,000 after he qualified Nigeria for the World Cup in Russia as well as the AFCON 2019.
Part of Rohr's new contract will be to have a harmonious working relationship with the federation's Technical Committee.
"He should be ready to work with the Technical Committee. We don't want repeat of some of the things that created problems to happen again as we aim to move the game forward in the New Year."
Although, there have been subtle move by the gaffer to get the Sports Minister, Sunday Dare, to intervene on his contract matter, it is believed that the minister made it known to him that only the NFF have the right to decide whether to keep him or ask him to take a work from the job.
On the position of the Sports Minister not happy with the state of the game in the out going year, Pinnick said the minister has every right to speak on our performance as the head of sports in the country.
"Don't forget the minister is the chief sports officer of the country. We don't feel bad he spoke his mind on the state of football in Nigeria. We believe his intervention is bound to be a wake up call for us and the players," stressed Pinnick who is looking forward to the New Year with enthusiasm.
"Year 2020 is full of so much promise for Nigeria football. We have the qualifiers for both the AFCON 2021 and the World Cup 2022. We need to get our acts right from the first kick of the ball in the New Year because there are no longer minnows in African football.
As part of the plans to put the administration of the game in proper perspective in the 2020, Pinnick hinted of plans for the NFF to relocate to the Sunday Dankaro House after years at the Glass House the federation has shared with the Federal Road Safety Commission.
"I want to assure you that the NFF secretariat will relocate to the Sunday Dankaro House before the end of January."
He also hinted that cadet players that have contracts with football agents will no longer be tolerated in the Golden Eaglets.
Nigeria's cadet teams (U-17, U-20 and U-23), floundered in continental tournaments in the out-going year, rubbishing the image the country has made over the years as a super-power in youth football.
To stem the influence of football agents in the national teams, the NFF has now warned that any player that has any contract will no longer be allowed to play for Eaglets.
"We have now realized the disruptive influence of these football agents to our preparations for major tournaments as was seen in the out going year. Henceforth, any player who has any link to any agent will be shut out of our team," Pinnick concluded.

NFF technical committee tackles Rohr Over Super Eagles Squad for game against Seychelles
The NFF technical commitee member and also Katsina United Chairman Aminu kurfi Balele spoke extensively to www.footballlive.ng on the glaring incompetence of the National Coach of the Super Eagles Genrot Rohr and also the observed dysfunctional processes in the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF).
The chairman who stated the fundamental problems he observed within the NFF concerning the 24 man list released for the game against Seychelles.
The chairman who categorically said as far as Nigerian football is concerned we don’t have a coach.
He termed Rohr as a coach who has put Nigeria football into unwanted pressure and frustration because of his inability to deliver as a coach after meeting up all his demand when he signed as coach to oversees senior National Team.
Rohr is an incompetent coach following his failure to own up to his responsibilities. Making reference to His failure to submit an evaluation report concerning the just concluded world cup Russia 2018.
Looking at the 24 man list at least five home based players should compliment the list playing Seychelles, he can not invite five home base players against a team like Sychelles , how then does he want the players in the league to grow and have confidence to give their best in their respective Clubs , knowing fully well they will not be invited to play for the super Eagles.
The chairman recommended the likes of Junior Lokosa of Kano Pillars and the players who played against Athletico Madrid in the exception of Kelechi Nwakali who made the invitation list but the coach went on to invite unknown players from second division in Europe.
The chairman stated that Rohr does not watch our Nigeria Premier League to start with, which he has no interest of any kind when it comes to the NPFL.
The Economist went further to speak on the current crisis surrounding NFF within the Federation stating the obvious reasons why the crisis need to come to and end and concluded by saying they have to be very serious over how thing are being done in order to avoid the collapse within the football system.

The main brain why pinnick insisted on rohr working with the technical comitee

If Rohr was a local coach and is coaching the team from Europe, I won't have any problem with that...why? because our best players are in Europe.. staying in Europe will afford him the opportunity of monitoring them more..the NFF should get him a competent local assistant who would take care of the home based players... I am no big fan of the NPFL, in fact, I don't even believe in any player made in the NPFL, until he's proven his mettle in a better league in Europe, but a manager shouldn't be staying too far away from his office, and he doesn't have to be in Europe to monitor the players plying their trade in Europe.
