Not in the way he wants it, he's nothing to contribute to cartalk and autos section but rubbish troll, so my only acknowledgement of him will be just as one.

Never to discuss car issues like he wants, let him call my cars shit all day, he'll get no response, hope u get

Please I need the advice of car Gurus in the house Gazzuzz, Dru, et al. Is Toyota Avalon 07 - 10 a reliable vehicle? It isn't really popular in Nigeria.
I want to get the Toyota Corolla 07 Tokunbo... but I really dislike the interior. It feels like an appliance.

Is Avalon 07 a good buy in terms of
Reliability
Maintenance (I heard that the parts are difficult to get and not many Kazeems are proficient).
Resale value (since it isn't popular, it appears disposing it is an issue?

Also, is Nigerian used Avalon 2010 limited a good buy?

Please respond

Avalon is a V6 only vehicle reason it isn't popular on naija roads.

It is reliable, dependable and hitch free ride. Buy only a good specimen with no issues whether it is naija used or Tokunbo.

For resale value not as hefty as Corolla or Camry.

My brother house rent in banana island (Avalon) would be costlier than rent in okokomaiko (Corolla)

By what your mind likes and the rest would fall into space

Yes...but what would inform my choice is the disparity between the two. For instance, shocks Avalon is so so and so while Corolla is .....
Suspension, engine, brake pads, etc.

Avalon Engine is around 280k, Corolla Engine is around 250k.

you can check eBay and AliExpress to compare spare part prices for the two. I am not a car technician so can't really say what the market price of each part for the cars are.

Great thread, Gazzuzz! I'm once again in the market for a used car, and I've been wondering about the disproportionately large number of some models on the market. I reside in Ghana though (Not that its gonna change anything, the auto industries of the two countries are almost identical).

That being said, I am quite curious about some other models not mentioned here. They seem to be quite numerous here, and oddly cheap. Online reviews seem to check out (mostly) but then we all know its a very different game locally.

1. 2008-2012(?) Honda Accord
2. 2005- 2011 Honda Civic
3. Volkswagen Golf (MK4 and MK5)
4. 2009 going Pontiac Vibe i guess this was aptly covered by the matrix sessions/ 2.4 in the camry (i hear thats some variants of the vibe carry this engine.
5. 2001-2006 Honda Cr-V
6. Nissan Altima (i guess a post on the 02-06 variant is in the pipeline, but how about the 07-11ish version)

I'm really grateful- in advance! grin

GAZZUZZ:
Due to popular demand let us continue
with the Hyundai Tucson 2007-2009

The 4cylinder.

Die hard vehicle came in back in the days from Dana motors engine costs 180k transmission I have never seen one being replaced so I have no idea how much that costs.

The V6 is a no go area, very unreliable piece of sh!t. (My personal view)

Can you give more comprehensive review on this as I love and intend to get the V6 variant, more power baby!!!

how can you even concieve the idea of comparing avalon with corolla. What do you guys have in mind when making choice of a car. You just cannot compare both vehicles. Not in comfort, fuel efficiency, space, price of parts, type of parts, looks. Yuou just can't please stop this comparison.

Depending on source and how sharp it is, 2GR is not that expensive again supply don boku, my neighbor got a quote for 1 in 2018 for 300k for his Camry V6.

some one bought one here on nairaland for 250k or so in 2019, for his Camry also which I am still skeptical about.
