[s]slowpoke only Germany, a few non-oil producing countries so far have approved strictly electric cars by 2030 which is obviously unlikely, it would definitely be extended. Come 2050 oil would still sell, not only cars use fuel Zombie....or have your village people invented electric planes, electric ships, etc??

Oil and gas is still selling come 2050, these business men like Dangote and co with good advisers and researchers know this while you're here on NL talking like an Olodo.

Shifting to complete electric and solar can't happen over night before then everyone would have made back their profits and inital investments while resolving the immediate unemployment.

I'm very sure you shouting solar still use Generator in your house (If you live in Nigeria) why not solar? lol

Africa that buys fairly used dead old cars wants to buy Electric cars ,. You can't count up to 5 African countries that have fully overcomed power issues.

Only Nigeria is enough market for Dangote Refinery because in the next 20yrs Nigeria would still have power issues.

A business that would last for 15-20yrs or more with huge profits can be considered future. Cheers[/s]
please go and search on Google.. China is building solar powered roads, US wants to start using biogas to replace oil and gas, other European countries and even Asia are buildings electric cars, solar powered roads, etc.
I repeat, one there is mass production of this things, oil we loss it's value.do you know that UAE is diversifying it's economy to tourism, real estate, aviation, etc.? Even Saudi Arabia is trying to amend some of their laws for women to have rights to drive and do other things so that they can improve their economy.. there are also diversifying to tourism, manufacturing, etc..
If first world countries start using fully electric cars, who are we going to sell our oil to in Africa?gringrin this is what I asked you and you are telling me another thing..

Stop saying things u dont know.

Nigeria generates about 4000MW, Not 4GW. 4GW is equal to 400,000MW

You should know this,
we all use phones that store data in bytes,
Are you saying 4GB memory card is equal to 400,000 megabytes?

Na 4,000 megabytes

4GW = 4,000 megawatts

Chairman stop living in dream land and face reality before oil and gas stops selling it would take at least 15-20yrs. Its not cartoon or Nollywood .
So are you saying China would build all solar powered roads in 1yr? install solar unit in all the homes in 1-5yrs? lets be realistic. No body is arguing with you that the first world countries are trying to move to clean energy but before this would phase out oil and gas completely it would take at least 20yrs, Saudi Arabia you're talking about are future planners unlike here in Africa we're decades if not centuries behind the world.

If you win an oil and gas block contract go and call these same Chinese, USA, Saudi and co would rush and invest in exploring it..lol

World bank and other local banks loaned Dangote money for the refinery....they all know better than you.

Now don't try to score cheap points, top countries especially non oil producing ones wants to quickly divert away from oil and gas because of their annual spendings buying oil, i'm not disputing this but my point here is investing in Oil and gas is still a very good investment because before this solar and electric buhaha take full effect we're talking about 15-20yrs from now you'd have made back your investments and enough profitsssss.

Before electric cars would fully be welcomed development in Africa it would take at least 30 yrs if not more, you claim if the world is buying electric cars Africa too would buy lol, the world have been using smart, electric trains while Buhari and Amaechi are taking forever to install dead oil trains the westerners have used 20-30yrs ago

Rotimi amaechi doesn't deny his Igbo ethnicity he was just attacking Jonathan , there was a time he said, Jonathan calls himself ebele but can't speak Igbo,
he is an Igbo man his name is amaechi and he speaks Igbo fluently

If your ancestors were Bini, how come you speak Igbo? It is either your ancestors where Igbos who lived in Bini or your ancestors were welcomed in an already Igbo speaking area. These are the only two possibilities.

These Igbos are quick to claim the Benin heritage because of the big Benin Kingdom.

Yes they were under the Benin Kingdom, they don't know that many Igbo groups were part of the Kingdom and worked with/for them,

The Kingdom was expanding conquering neighboring groups before the British stopped them.

Their ancestors were Igbo people under the Benin Kingdom.

Your wrong, We're generating 4000MW for now, Nigeria needs about 180, 000 megawatts for there to be adequate power supply. “South Africa, with 67 million people, generates 48,000 megawatts and they are now even working to increase the generation to 79,000MW

At the current connection rate we only need the 20 000MW and what you are saying is based off of international use of energy Nigerians would use way less energy per capital so I am pretty sure that 90 000MW should be adequate for 95% connectivity rates

Don't mind him

The first electric car was made over 134yrs ago yet I have not seen any one of them with my naked eyes in Nigeria.
The cars are still costly, unless they discover abundant cheap natural resources to used build the batteries before it will start taking over the world,

The worst is that we keep getting poorer when others are getting rich.

Oil and gas don't have the same future.

Gas is clean, readily available and cheap and will remain in use forever, in power plants, industrial plants, cooking, e. T. C..

Petrol is dirty, can be exhausted, and will soon be irrelevant due to electric cars.

Why go for diesel generators as a means of power supply in a gas plant, whatever happen to gas engines or gas turbines with ready fuel source at their disposal.

Why build a gas turbine for temporary power need when generator is more than enough for same purpose.
Read and understand... The generator is to power the building of the facility. When its built d gas will then take over

There are motorized plug_in gas turbine units and besides the idea behind the suggestion of gas engine or gas turbine is based on the fuel source which is abundantly available at the gas plant.

On your mention concerning gas units taking over after the plant is built perhaps you should read the write up once again....I have simplified it by bolding the kind of power plant they intend to use when the plant comes on stream and they are all diesel powered.
