1.Jesus is the only way to God, John 14:6

Christians worldwide have an estimated population of 2.4billion people
Islam records an estimate of 1.9 billion adherents, Hindu has an estimated 1.1bn adherents. The remaining world's population have their own beliefs which includes atheism.
If Jesus is the only way to God, what happens to those who don't believe in him? Hell? Well, the Bible suggests so.

2. There are a lot of complications and contradictory remarks in the Bible- a verse says don't drink, another says "Drink for your stomach sake", or "Do not drink wherein excess."
Malachi 3:10 a famous Bible verse on tithing speaks about bringing your tithe to the storehouse (church, maybe)
Deuteronomy 14:22-26 says otherwise, it says "you should drink and be merry with your tithe". I'm seriously beginning to doubt the credibility of the Bible. Maybe the translators' fault or God told writers different stories on the same issue. Read Matthew, Mark, Luke and John's account of Jesus and see real contradictions.

3. Does God answer prayers? Well, I'm not really sure about that. Someone might be suffering from malaria, the person takes drugs and still prays, the drugs work, but the person thanks God. Or a successful surgical operation, instead of thanking the doctor, they thank God. Some illnesses that would have been treated led to deaths because a certain congregation who were supposed to take the ill persons to the hospital, circled around praying. Faith without work isn't it still dead?
I remember when I had stomach ulcer, it was really terrible, I prayed and made several promises to God that if He took away the ulcer, I'd drink no more alcohol and will be more devout in worshipping Him. That didn't solve anything though, I stopped drinking and took to taking my drugs more seriously. Weeks later, I was well. I returned to drinking and after a few months, the ulcer resurfaced. That was when I realized I really needed to quit drinking. Prayers wouldn't have solved that issue.
I spent 80% of 2019 at home because of my misgivings about God's existence.
I really wish I could be convinced about God's existence because I'm not even happy to be away from Church because of the views of friends and family.

4. Children of God, or so called children of God tend to suffer more tribulations, hard times and desperate moments, a lot of them scream "Vanity upon Vanity" when secular people live in luxury or spend extravagantly. God tends to turn his back on those who worship Him especially when they need Him most.
The 1933 Holocaust and mass murder of Jews to the tone of 6m was a clear indication that God turns His eyes against His people

Anyways, I don't regret serving and worshipping God.

My life has become much smoother and easier when I changed and place my mindset solely on God .

And I have no regrets.

You can become an theist nobody is stopping you.

Dear op, I'm a Christian, I believe in Jesus and I have to say that you raised very valid questions and from your post it is obvious you are looking for answers. I wish I could talk about them with you outside this forum. If we can't talk outside here, I'll pray for you and trust that He will send answers to you. Or better still we can exchange emails and I'll forwarded materials that will help you if what you are looking for is help. Cheers and all the best. These questions you raised are valid I must reiterate.

personally I think God does exist. he exist for a very number of people, though I don't know the said people. it's commonly believed that man was created in Gods image, and being that humans were created in this image means they embodied the physical, psychological, sociological and spiritual attribute/character of it's maker.
Through this image humans failed the only test placed before them, the Creator being perfect created us in his own image. meaning we are carbon copy of perfection . if humans were created in God image how then is it possible that beings like us who with all this perfection from God managed to fall into sin? maybe there's something in our gene that is flawed but no one wants to talk about it.

am open to criticism and new ideas

Religion is not about heaven and hell nor God and Satan.

The stories in religious books are there to help teachers teach children how to survive peacefully and harmoniously with others.

Religion was all about survival. Sadly not anymore.

The modern world believes Abrahamic religions have outlived their usefulness because they've killed God.

There's no longer anything to fear, so many people no longer have reasons to endure the pain of this world. No hope of eternal life. Surprisingly, Slave morality is on a rapid rise in disguise.

Hope has become a fraud.

Empathy is only employed when it's convenient.

The things our fathers were ashamed of are what we celebrate today.

Religious leaders live out their grandiose fantasy at the expense of their sheeple because they've replaced God.

Is atheism the answer? From my experience, I don't think so.

Most atheists in religious countries are usually apathetic and in some cases bitter. This doesn't help anybody, not even the atheists themselves.

The easiest way to save Africans from modern religious manipulators (if you care) is to become very religious and inspire the sheeple in bondage to be more educated and see for themselves that God is dead and it's time to move on.

How do you do this? Become a Sunday school teacher, preacher etc. Intentionally expose your audience to thought-provoking books and materials that helped you come to terms with reality. While at it, always emphasize on empathy and how our collective survival and advancement depends on it.

In the end, liberating Education is what we need. Not apathy, elitism, bitterness, etc that comes with being an atheist in this part of the world.

PS- Good/bad fortune has nothing to do with God. It has everything to do with you and the people you surround yourself with.

hmmm... a knowledgeable conniving mind like yourself is what I would be worried about.

The problem is, people do not take time to read their Holy books. They let their religious leader read and interpret for them. They are the mercy of their religious leaders interpretation. In most cases, the So called pastor might be Spiritual, but not educated enough to interpret and pass knowledge across. By the time that person hears an interpretation that's a bit different from what he is used to; frustration sets in.

I will advice every Christian to study the word of God himself and not rely solely on what he is taught.

I will also advice people to worship in places where the leader is knowledgeable (formal education and Biblical education). Education has a way of affecting the mind positively. I wont worship in an illiterates church

I agree with you. Rwanda earlier this year passed into law that all churches should be guided by a certified graduate of a registered seminary with a view of protecting their citizens from perversion and preventing another war (since the last one was precipitated by a pastor). Funny enough, their economy has skyrocketed since that move. Apostle Peter wrote that the gospel is perverted by untrained men. It takes patience and education to understand the scriptures; punctuation marks seem to be more important than every word in what I have found out; without understanding the functions of these marks and the rules of grammar, the only result will be a disastrous misinterpretation of the scriptures. I feel sorry for many people when I visit their churches and the pastor has no clue of what the gospel is about or even the English Grammer; and he ends up mutilating the intention of the writer of the book. It’s really sad and the most vocal Christians in Nigeria today are the uneducated (under a reputable seminary). The damage is so much.

Why should I believe you either about the Bible being a history book or about my engaging in fundamentalism because I believe what the Bible says?

Bro pls Christianity is not a gathering but a lifestyle controlled by the HOLY SPIRIT, my dear
I believe the HOLY GHOST will make you understand more about Christianity.
Lack of the HOLY SPIRIT can make one to become confused, and that's a major issue in our society, where many go to church proclaiming they are Christian's but in reality they need to ask themselves questions.

MR ENGLISHMART,

U HV REACHED A POINT IN UR LIFE THAT NEEDS UPGRADE. WHAT U ARE PASSING THRU IS THE POINT WHERE SOMEONE BECOME WORSE THAN HE WAS OR BECOME FAR BETTER THAN HE WAS. ONE OF IT MUST HAPPEN DEPENDING ON HOW U HANDLE IT.
U ARE A LUCKY PERSON BECAUSE GOD MADE U TO OPEN IT UP HERE, AM GOING TO LEAD U TO ALL THE ANSWERS TO ALL THE QUESTIONS U RAISED. BE PREPARE TO SOME STARTLING REVELATIONS FROM THE BIBLE AS AM GOING TO LEAD U IN UNADULTRATED TRUTH THAT WILL SHOCK U TO UR BONES . THIS PLACE WILL NOT BE ENOUGH TO GIVE U ALL ANSWERS . U MAY NEED FURTHER CLEARANCE 07030857513.
BELOW ARE SOME FEW SHOCKS :
1.) IF U WANT TO STUDY AND UNDERSTAND THE BIBLE, U MUST SEPARATE WHAT GOD WROTE OR SAID BY HIMSELF FROM WHAT MEN WROTE AS WHAT THEY UNDERSTOOD. ALL PARTS OF THE BIBLE ARE NOT A DIRECT WORDS FROM GOD. GENESIS TO DEUTRONOMY ARE WHERE THE DIRECT LAWS OF GOD WRITTEN BY GOD ARE SITUATED. OTHER AREAS ARE WHERE THE PROPHETS ARE ENFORCING THE LAWS THRU PROPHECIES.
2.) THE ISSUE OF TITHE WILL CONTINUE TO CONFUSE ANYONE WHO READ THE BIBLE WITHOUT PRIOR KNOWLEDGE THAT TITHE ARE DIVIDED INTO THREE TYPES.
A.} 1ST TITHE, (B) 2ND TITHE, (C) 3RD TITHE.
THAT IS Y A LOT OF ARGUMENT ARE EVERYWHERE BECAUSE OF TITHE. THE ONE U MENTIONED IN DEUT 14 VS 22 ABOUT EATING IT URSELF IS THE 3RD TITHE.
JUST TO HIGHLIGHT . (U WILL BE REALLY SHOCKED NOW.)
a) 1ST TITHE= 10% OF UR PROFIT TO UR LEVI, THE LEVI WILL GIVE 10% OF IT TO THE HIGH PRIEST ( AND WILL KEEP 90% TO HIMSELF) AND THE HIGH PRIEST WILL USE 10% FROM WHAT HE GOT FROM LEVI )AND OFFER BURNT BULLOCK OFFERINGS TO GOD( BUT WILL KEEP 90% TO HIMSELF ALSO). (IE. U EARN N1000 AND PAY N100 TO LEVI, LEVI WILL GIVE HIGH PRIEST N10 AND HIGH PRIEST WILL USE JUST N1 TO OFFER BURNT SACRIFICE TO GOD. THIS IS EXACTLY THE WAY GOD COMMANDED IT. SO IF UR PASTOR IS COLLECTING TITHE AND IT IS NOT USING IT AS SAID BY GOD , HE WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE BEFORE GOD.

B) 2ND TITHE= 10% OF UR REMAINING PROFIT =N90 (AM USING N1000 AS UR PROFIT . U HV REMOVED N100 AS 1ST TITHE) U ARE NOT MEANT TO GIVE IT TO ANYONE. U ARE TO USE IT FOR EXPENSES FOR THE OBSERVATIONS OF THE ORDINANCES OF GOD(I.E IN THE WORSHIP OF GOD AT ITS APPOINTED TIMES USING IT FOR RITES .)

C) 3RD TITHE = 10% OF UR REMAINING PROFITS ON EVERY 3RD YEAR U WILL KEEP IT TOGETHER THEN ON THE APPOINTED TIME IN THAT YEAR U WILL EAT IT WITH THE POOR, LESS PRIVILEGE, WIDOWS, ORPHANS AND LEVI LIVING AS UR NEIGHBOURS. U WILL MERRY WITH THAT MONEY AND GIVE OUT GIFTS AND PARTY WITH THE ABOVE MENTIONED.

3) JESUS IS THE WAY ONLY WAY TO GOD. = THERE ARE SOME FRAUDS THE MISSIONARIES USED JESUS TO CONFUSE US. THIS HAS WORSEN THE CASE OF THE AFRICAN MAN. TO OPEN UP THE CASE OF JESUS WILL MAKE PEOPLE HERE TO BE CONFUSE BECAUSE I NEED TO GO TO THE ORIGIN TO TELL U ABOUT JESUS AND WHO HE IS AND WHAT HE CAME TO DO. ALL U HV BEEN HEARING FROM PASTORS FOR MANY YEARS MAY NOT BE ABOUT JESUS. (TO SHOCK U A LITTLE...... MOST PASTORS WHO CLAIM TO KNOW JESUS ACTUALLY HATE HIM BECAUSE THEY DONT KEEP THE LAWS OF GOD JUST AS JESUS COMMANDED. THEY ONLY CHOSE WHAT THEY FEEL LIKE DOING THAT WILL GIVE THEM WEALTH AND FAME).
BACK TO THE THE TOPIC.......... JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY MEANS JESUS IS THE LAW.

4) LAWS OF GOD ARE DIVIDED INTO 3. NAMELY: A) 10 COMMANDMENTS, (B) ORDINANCES (C) JUDGEMENTS.

5) THE REASON WHY U SEE CONTRACTDICTING STATEMENTS IN THE BIBLE ARE BECAUSE OF TRANS-LITRATIONAL ERRORS IN LANGUAGE MEANINGS. THERE ARE ABOUT 3 THOUSANDS TRANSLATION ERRORS IN kING JAMES VERSION WHICH IS THE CLOSEST ACCURATE ENGLISH BIBLE.
THE ORIGINAL BIBLE IS HEBREW BIBLE AND WHEN U READ IT SIDE BY SIDE WITH ENGLISH BIBLE, U MAY BE TEMPTED TO BURN THE ENGLISH BIBLE.
IF U NEED A GOOD BIBLE TRANSLATED TO ENGLISH DIRECTLY FROM HEBREW
BY THE JEWS. IT WILL COST U N60K FOR A BIBLE.
THERE ARE LOTS OF FRAUDS ATTACHED TO THE ENGLISH BIBLE BY THE MISSIONARIES TO FAVOUR THEIR THINKING AND MANIPULATIONS.
I SAY U WILL BE SHOCKED IF I OPEN THE CAN OF WORM HERE.

SORRY I CANNOT CONTINUE AS I HV SO MUCH TO TEACH. U CAN CALL ME 07030857513.

None of these points are valid reasons to disbelieve in the existence of a God. The first point is a somewhat lukewarm reason to leave established religion, while all the other points could be valid reasons to abandon Christianity.

Disproving the existence of God would require a completely different set of arguments than those which disprove Christianity alone. I have recently gone down this path before and truly come to conclude that Christianity is a farce and the whole Bible is of dubious origin. I can't speak about other religions because I've not researched those.

A God who rains fire from heaven on fowls, goats, sheep and unborn children (Gen. 19:24)is certainly not all holy. God can be anything he likes good or evil depending on who is giving an assessment. He does what is absolutely necessary and ultimately his creatures cannot judge him.

1.Jesus is the only way to God, John 14:6
This invariably means those who don't believe in Jesus have no business in heaven.

The 1933 Holocaust and mass murder of Jews to the tone of 6m was a clear indication that God turns His eyes against His people
Repulsive comments are highly welcomeOp Don't listen to those folks up there insinuating you should join Islam. Islam is a cult not a religion. Is the worst decision you can make.

Meanwhile, I will like to to tell you this. God is mysterious and we can't understand him. The truth is he answers some prayers especially when you challenge him with heavy prayers that move him and another thing is sometimes he keeps quite even if you pray for so long bc he has a big reason why he does not want that to happen.
I'm talking from experience bc I have had some serious encounter with God over the years. I wish You're close to me so i could tell you my experiences that will marvel you. Be you a jew or a Christian the most important thing is for you to keep your hands clean and live a good life. I do not believe that only the Christians will go to heaven.

Similarly I had same experience you are having now. At a point in my life, it became tough for me and i lost the interest of going to church for over 2 years and hardly prayed that period. I tried doing what others around where doing to make it big but it never worked for me but where working for some niggas around me. I passed through a tough faze and almost commited suicide but God saved the situation. I later realized that he was preparing me for the tough journey ahead in life and today the story has changed.
SO I URGE YOU TO KEEP PUSHING AND MOST IMPORTANTLY DON'T EVER BELIEVE THAT THERE IS NO GOD. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A SPLENDID NEW YEAR

I guess I'm beginning to wake up to that reality.

The contradictions in the bible is expected; the bible was edited over 5000 times.

It's quite funny that most convert to Islam or atheism are from Christianity.

I won't lie, certain thing they preach doesn't appeal to logic.

Muslims are taught that those God loves, he tests. Everything that happens to you, whether good or bad, is from God. In fact, his prophets were also tested. So who are we?

The more I think of theory of existentialism or science, the more I see God.

In my course of study, everything seems about giga ages and detached from God , but in there I asked questions that further showed me God.

You might decide to keep your religious more private, don't deny the existence of God.

You're feeling this way because of the prosperity driven life you were taught by religion.

Doctors hold special place in Islam - anyone who save lives is special too. Thank God for bringing your helper and thank the helper for being used by God.

God does not come to us in image, he uses humans to help us.

I hope you are still reading people's reply. At a point, I think everyone Christian, especially the exposed, learned and young will get to the situation you found yourself. I am a young Christian and I have to confess to you that I have asked similar questions at certain points. Sometimes, I found the answer, not in the Bible, but in movies and in my heart. I have come to some conclusions that if you want some logical explanations about the existence of God, you will always find illogical explanations as well. Nothing makes sense, however I have had experiences with God that sustains me and I don't have an iota of doubt in my heart that there is God.
I don't know if you have had personal relationship with God. Please, forget about Church now. If you have never conversed or communicated with God to the extent that you hear him, you cannot build a relationship with him. This is one of the things Churches in Nigeria don't teach us.
I wish we can talk, I can share my frustrustions with God with you, but at the end of the day, I have this peace within me that attests to his presence. Have you ever heard him speak to you and he confirms it with people around you? If it is sickness, I believe some of us Christian abuse our bodies in the name of prayer and faith when the bible says my people perish because they lack knowledge. Sometimes, some Christian are poor because they lack financial knowledge. Some Christian remain in their sickness because they lack medical knowlegde. What you did concerning ulcer was application of medical knowledge to your body. Some of we Chrisyian leave our responsibilities to God and tell him in prayers to do those responsibilities. My belief as a Christian is that I expect and pray to God to do those things I cannot do, not things I can do. Now, I ask for the wisdom and grace from Him to do those things He expects me to do, afterall I have decided to be His child.
Christianity is not what most of us in Nigeria practice, it is worshipping of Pastors. If you dont mind, please let us talk. We can talk about the influence of human intenvention in the Bible we read today. Did you know that Martin Luther that wrote the conventional Bible removed some books and verses? Some verses were retained by people who accused him of forgery if those parts were not retained.

Atheism is grand stupidity, It's more worse than belief in God.

The human body is the greatest machine on earth. Atheists believe the machine created itself. The Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) in animal and plant contain complex informations. Such complex information couldn't write itself. I could entertain Agnosticism NOT Atheism.

The only account that makes sense to me is the Sumerian account, which states that we were created by the Annunakis from planet Nubiru as slave race.

Why is christianity the right source?

Who told you that Jesus was sinless? The same guy that flogged merchants and called people vipers?

I've already explained why it's the right source.

You're taking those incidents out of context to suit your agenda. If you insist on seeing a problem, you will.

That doesn't make the truth any less true.

I'll tell you something, i have come to know the person and power of the holy spirit, people who posts things like this hardly open their Bible or give in time to hear God's word, my people perish because of lack of wisdom. Majority of the comments here may sound high and correct but it's baseless!

Bottom line how can I understand what i have not studied? Study God

Exactly! Even pagans know that sins need to be atoned for. That's why all over the world, humans come up with the idea of human and animal sacrifice to appease an "angry" deity without even encountering a single Christian.

They are searching for redemption from sin, but from the wrong source.

The difference is that Jesus' blood is the only lasting solution because He was sinless. So His sacrifice covers every single sin that could ever be committed.

That's why people need to accept it. Not because they're evil or stupid, but because they need to be redeemed by His perfection.

How do you know he's sinless?

Wasn't he gay?

Who is stopping you from your decision? It's your life, your joy or your predicament. Just know for a fact that God's son cannot die in vain and you waste it in vain.
You don't need to shout to the heavens that you want to be atheist. Na u sabi. Noise maker.

It is written, that until the whole world hear abt Jesus, then the end comes. So dt on that day, there will be no excuse whatsoever

Where are your ancestors that worshipped African traditional gods and passed away before the missionaries came to Africa.

Did your god send them to hell to suffer eternal torture because they didn't worship the right god they never heard about
