MelesZenawi: Did they tell you that land mass is what is considered before creating a state in an area? If land mass is considered, present Imo State with capital at Owerri would never have been created. Because land mass of some northern states is more than land mass of the whole 5 southeast states put together. History is considered for state creation. Njaba State was about to be created in 2007. But senator Arthur Nzeribe from Oguta local govt area who was on political rift against then gov Udenwa from Orlu started a problem. Nzeribe requested that Orashi be called the 6th state in the SE, with capital in Oguta, but excluded Orlu. But before then, Nzeribe had been pushing for Njaba state with capital at Orlu right from the 1970s. The long rift then made Nsukka people heighten their demand for Adada state. But who can divide Enugu area for the third time to get Adada as sixth state in the SE, whereas Njaba area remains untouched for the first time? As you talk blind like you are from Imo East (Owerri) senatorial zone, be informed that people of old Anambra State knew that carving out oil- bearing Imo State from the old East Central State means leaving Ndi Anamba with Anambra State without oil producing status, yet Ndi Anambra did not object to carving Imo state with Owerri as capital out from the old East Central State. |
Re: . by MyopicMods: 7:30pm On Dec 30, 2019 |
kikake: But Anambra today again now has oil. I don't see any reason or anything wrong if Enugu is splitted further because the landmas is quite okay. Let me ask talking of Njaba state with your own geography how many local government will be moved from Anambra to the same Njaba state. I mean the neighboring towns. How large will the state be? Try and consider these on such scale not merely on political rift or undertone. |
Re: . by Abia1stSon: 7:31pm On Dec 30, 2019 |
kikake: Don't go there please. Abia state has no rival as far Nigeria is concerned. Umuahia is a glorified village Aba is a disgusting sewage pit toilet littered with bad roads and filth. |
Re: . by MyopicMods: 7:32pm On Dec 30, 2019 |
kikake: Is this your grouse for new state? Orlu to Anambra is not far at all. let's focus on Adada state Biko Nwanne mmadu. |

MyopicMods: The land mass of Imo West Senatorial zone for proposed Njaba State alone is larger than the land mass of your proposed Adada. There are 12 huge local govt areas in Imo West senatorial zone. There are about 7 local govt areas in Adada. Imo West is an oil and gas producing area for a viable Njaba (or Anim) State. Adada is not. So why will anyone go for Adada from the same Enugu area which has been divided three times in the past? |

BeachLife: The river on the map is between rivers state and Akwa Ibom state. It’s only 23 nautical miles from the open sea. “The United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea now gives a landlocked country a right of access to and from the sea without taxation of traffic through transit states. The United Nations has a programme of action to assist landlocked developing countries,[11] and the current responsible Undersecretary-General is Anwarul Karim Chowdhury.” Please when you have time, read up on the United Nations laws of the sea Also barges are used all over the world to transport goods and commodities up the river. See the pictures below. A functional river port can be built at the southern tip of Abia state and goods conveyed with barges to the port. This is being done to all over the world as we speak. 1 Like

This was to be the first high rise building in the SE. Located along factory road aba, this building (15 story high) was being built by dubic around 2010/12.He began construction of the edifice after Guinness brewery acquired his brewery. It would have hosted a mall and hotel among other facilities. Unfortunately, he died after the building got above the underground floors.A year later his eldest son died when the building got to two floors above the ground. with his family locked in litigation over inheritance, the contractors packed up-even though rumours abound that Dubic paid in full for the project 1 Like

Ndibunna: Has Adada any boundary with Anambra state? What criterion would make anyone go to divide Enugu area for the third time for Adada State, when Njaba area never divided even for once is asking for a State? 2 Likes |
Re: . by kikake: 12:17am On Dec 31, 2019 |
eduj: Another sad story about Aba. Aba was the city of all Igbos right from origin, until it was desecrated by bad governors beginning 1999. Then, any Igbo man who landed Aba never went home empty handed. If the tempo of Aba's rise during the 1980s was sustained, we would not have been moving to Lagos today. 2 Likes 1 Share |

BeachLife: I'm surprised those engaging you in argument are yet to suss out that you're a impostor! Which Igbo will use such wicked terms as the ones you used in the bolded to describe his own ethnicity? Pray, the Japan you were using to cite your dumb example....were they made to share the same country with the same people who had murdered them in their millions and still brag about it decades later? Not only that, but the Japanese were not sharing the same country with the very same people that hate their guts......under a political-economy that keeps them away from providing head of state; takes control of their resources; splits and reduces their ancestral land; and unfairly treats their entrepreneurs vis-a-vis those from the 'chosen' ethnicity that believe they own the country! 1 Like |

BeachLife: First, there are no ethnicities in Igbo ethnic group. Igbo is Igbo anywhere, what we have is Igbo dialects differently. We are talking about state creations in the southeast still under Nigeria. It's not about division of Igbos. You may need to understand that the fewer the number of states in the southeast, the more people of the southeast are under-represented in National Assembly, and at the Federal Executive Council where decisions are usually made about location of development projects.. Worse, the smaller the number of states in the southeast, the more monthly federal allocations are denied the southeast... Separate Biafra secession issue from state creation, they are not related. 1 Like 1 Share |
