VAQAXY: You see that thing I am saying. How can someone from Ebonyi state explain how he begins to answer Ebuka, Obiorah and others. These ain't there background names rather it was borrowed from Igbo states. |

[s] AkeNathan:[/s] Ogeh chukwuebuka Emmanuel, you are truly a proud abakaleke man. I salute your courage to even accept openly that you are from there, unlike most of your people |
Re: . by Ndibunna: 11:29am On Dec 31, 2019 |
AkeNathan: Nobody said you not proud but your name has no historical backing to same Abakaliki if not how can you explain someone answering Ebuka, Obiorah, nzube in Abakaliki. These names are not linked to Abakaliki but rather borrowed from Ndigbo. |

Ndibunna: Go and tell Nnamdi from Rivers state that he is Igbo And be dealt the lesson of your lives Just few weeks ago Wike cautioned Ikwerre people to be proud of their ethnicity and heritage. They can answer whatever they like and retain their self-acclaimed status, deal with it. This submission mirrors my own situation. 2 Likes |
Re: . by VAQAXY: 11:37am On Dec 31, 2019 |
AkeNathan: The sensitisation could take another 200yrs because the damage done on the psyche of a Ebonyi people had taken over 100yrs . So it is not what you achieve on nairaland. Like for instance igbos don't even see Ebonyi people as igbos. Igbos treat Ebonyi people the same way they treat aboki out there. If you could be sincere enough you wiould have noticed that it is usually hard for Ebonyi man to accept in public that he is from there. Alot need to be done |
Re: . by VAQAXY: 11:40am On Dec 31, 2019 |
Sincerely speaking Igbos in Rivers and Delta are more igbo than igbos in Ebonyi. This is a fact. For instance, Peter Odili is from Ndoni in Rivers state but their culture and language is clear as the one spoken in Ogbaru Anambra state. The same thing with Atani in Anambra and Oko in Delta state. But the language and culture of Ebonyi people are quite alien to the core igbos. AkeNathan: |

Re: . by Ndibunna: 11:45am On Dec 31, 2019 |
AkeNathan: Your situation seems awkward as you juxtaposing yourself to Rivers state without even giving a rethink to your geographical location. Do you really understand what historical appreciation means this boy. The statement alone explains why the name you answering doesn't belong to your place which means it is borrowed and you here going off tangent. Whatever wike said which I am not concerned is all about Rivers internal politics unless you justifying the reason ebonyi was classified as less educational developed state with your level of understanding. We give name based or name our children based on historical lining and such names are prevalent in an area. Get the point and research instead of beating around the bush. |

VAQAXY: Oya naa go to Ohanaeze and expel their representatives from the Ogbakor The other 4 SE Governors and their Senate Representatives should write to the FG and pleasdthat Ebonyi be expelled from the SE Geo-political zone, and her people and their language be gazzetted as a different and unique ethnic group in Nigeria. You don't know how happy i would be if it was done I can eventually wear off the social stigma of being igbo, perpetrating the first military coup, instigating civil war, having lust for money ritual/crime and never smelling the presidency. Go ahead and do it I DARE YOU! |
Re: . by VAQAXY: 11:47am On Dec 31, 2019 |
AkeNathan: Don't be agitated. This is to enlighten on your place as an "igbo" man. You need to know where you stand at all times. Igbos only use Ebonyi as a political tool, the same way northerners use middle belt as a political too. But when the chips are down core igbos will not fail to tell an Ebonyi man that he is inferior. These are what we see everyday out there. Igbos from Anambra, Enugu, Imo even Abia doesn't regard an Ebonyi man as one of them. It is not even a hidden thing anymore. |

Like as I said in my last post, you need to know where you stand at all times. Igbos only accept Ebonyi people when it comes to politics of number. But after that igbos will not fail to tell an Ebonyi man that they are illiterates and good for nothing people. Know your stand at all times AkeNathan: |
Re: . by Ndibunna: 11:52am On Dec 31, 2019 |
AkeNathan: That's due to arrival of the whiteman religion. Even to thisday there are Igbo people that doesn't have English name. VAQAXY: I know it is not a hidden thing. Whenever I meet Anambra/Enugu/Imo person who belittles us ( because they are fond of that and Abia people really do not do it ), I give it back to them HOT ! Look at it this way, if the other 4 SE states had invested in Ebonyi state in areas of education, health, infrastructure and electricity while we were under the Old East Central States, I am sure there would have been government schools established in 1960s and 1970s and 1980s in Ebonyi land, like wise Hospitals, Roads, list them. Their insults directed at us mirrors their failures as political leaders. Imagine a father who doesn't educate his child or send him to school when the child lived under his care and depended on him for everything good, then when the child grows and becomes an adult he turns around to call the child names such as illiterates, timid, backward. Like I could slap any person who says this rubbish at my face Igbo people are clearly the people who ensured we lagged far behind in terms of development. It is on record that so much has been achieved in terms of education and infrastructure and health ever since we broke off from their strangle-hold, and we will resist every attempt to return us to their fold. If they had any shame, they should be feeling bad for their mis-treatments and not instigating more fights. What do I care? The more they abuse us, the more we strife as a people to further develop our state and re-write our own history. The joke is on them. 2 Likes |

Ndibunna: Dash you Orlu? For what? Orlu shall forever remain Orlu. There is abundant land in Orlu that if IMSG provides Orlu with essential social amenities, the town shall quickly develop, even pass Owerri. After Okorocha driven by his intention to build all in Owerri to be seen as a good presidential material to succeed president Buhari, Ihedioha came and pinned himself on development of Owerri. Ihedioha knows that without providing durable public water supply system in Orlu zone, no investors can put a kobo into building new housing estate in Orlu or Okigwe zone. He knows that the govt housing estate built in Orlu zone are not gainfully occupied due to lack of public water supply system. Yet Ihedioha now quickly started to build 1000 housing units in his Owerri zone, after he gave out contract to reactivate Owerri zonal water supply system, and tells people that the 1000 new housing he is building in Owerri are a public/private enterprise; and that more 4000 housing units are coming. He must have believed he was talking to fools after Okorocha hid under private/public name to use govt money in building private businesses, including a university, in Imo state. Does Ihedioha not think that people are fools in Imo state? 1 Like |

We are making progress. The highlighted parts shows clearly you are beginning to come to self realisation after decades of illusion. The reason Ebonyi was treated like that was because igbos consider them as aboki. Ebonyi people were never seen as human beings that needs good things of life. Ebonyi people were never seen as people that should be given decent education. All these factors are the reason Ebonyi people are where they are today. You cannot count more than 10 professors of Ebonyi origin today. AkeNathan: |

AkeNathan: The joke is on your leaders not Igbos. Blame old Imo state and Enugu block and leave others out of it but when you continue to blame others it begins to look as if you have Another issue or motive. Moreover this is not the issue here but merely ancestral names which many tends to throw away these days. |
Re: . by RareDiamonds: 12:07pm On Dec 31, 2019 |
The person you are replying is not an Igbo person. An Ebonyi man heads the south east governors forum presently and the previous president general of Ohanaeze Igbo is from Ebonyi State. Ndi Igbo in general are blessed to have such a mineral resources and agricultural rich state as Ebonyi filled with intelligent, and industrious people as bona fide member of the ever progressive and GREAT IGBO NATION. This is manifested by naming the Enugu international airport after Akanu Ibiam, a proud Igbo man from Ebonyi State Ignore the anti Igbo individuals masquerading as Igbos AkeNathan: 8 Likes 3 Shares |

Re: . by VAQAXY: 12:09pm On Dec 31, 2019 |
AkeNathan: What are you gonna do to them? Fight all of them? It is like ideology. The way Anambra, Enugu, Imo and even Abia views Ebonyi people is like an ideology you cannot kill. It has been planted in their minds from generation to generation to view Ebonyi people from that perspective. It will take generational sensitisation that could take up to 200yrs. Not sure though |

RareDiamonds: The highlighted re-echoes the same thing I said before. Ebonyi is kept for political purposes. Even whites claim always that there's nothing like racism but we see it everyday. The same way you are living in denial about the perception of Ebonyi people by the igbos. I am even very sure you don't have a friend from Ebonyi. |
