Danwakae:So because we are the lion means we should just rush into everything tabled before us? They signed AftCa only after considering its benefits and disadvantages. Even South Africa signed late. So what are you saying? And after signing, what did Nigeria do? Closed its borders! Some of these ideas are neo- colonial in nature and should be considered carefully, bro. 1 Like |

Shameful.. They are too busy embezzling for them to acknowledge ECO it was defined as CFA changed to ECO now to be used for West Africa... Very wrong interpretation! Nigeria I hail thee |

Xda59: U don't even know anything about it They are trying to introduce ECO as the currency for the west Africans against the french currency being used , to make west Africa independent and have a ease, free trading ...u going backward to old story... Is it not Better France or America takes over Africa from these our stupid leaders ... You criticizing them, but ur people are the ones trooping into their countries as illegal migrants for greener pastures...forget their motive , it's because your african leaders are corrupt and evil , they can't try that within themselves in Europe or America...but for your corrupt leaders , u are all slaves. |

APCNig: No wonder the country remains in darkness with blind followers like you bro. Buhari called the youths lazy and youths like you applauded him. So to you that arrogant and irresponsible letter coming in form of a response from the office of a high level government official is reasonable and within proper diplomatic norms. Truly many in this country need to have their heads examined. |

Anybody that knows anything about Ghana and Ghanaians will agree with me that they are not straightforward. Their response was for theatrics only. Ghana will never be part of any fiat currency union that Nigeria isn't part of. The know the power of our economy and people. Find some of the reasons below. 1. Their biggest local manufacturing firms have to always export to Nigeria 2. Their politicians have to always come to Nigeria for campaign money during elections. 3. Their banks are filled millions of dollars from Nigerian politicians. Nigerian politicians will never use eco or the same currency as these francophone countries without putting certain measures in place to protect their collective wealth. Do you think Nigerian politicians will allow someone in Accra or Abidjan to determine the value of their money? I doubt. 1 Like |

What nonsense is this one saying? You are talking like a fool. Which Ghana’s biggest firms always export to Nigeria? Which Ghanaian politicians come to Nigeria for campaign money? Has nigeria got money, and their people are suffering so much? Which banks are filled with dollars? Johnsghana: |

This single currency is not good. See what has happened to Portugal, Italy, Greece and Spain (in the case of the Euro). It benefits only strong economies - Germany (in the case of the EURO). You may hate Buhari but canvassing for something that will have a continuous effect after he has gone, don't dip both feet into waters, always dip one feet at a time. 2 Likes |

APCNig: I see how people applaud you because sometimes idiots are the majorities and the nations suffer when they the idiots elect a president. Don’t you know that the only thing Nigerian have as advantage over this people has been strip off? First Benin stop taken Light from Nigeria and generate 40MW which is even access for the entire nation plus another 2000MW green energy project going on there by German company through France. Togo is not importing anything from Nigerian including light except crude. Niger Republic is building dam to generate electricity that will be enough for them and also export to Benin, Togo and Bukinafaso if needs arise and France is behind it. They only import crude oil from Nigeria on credit and Nigeria cannot stop selling to them on credit because we need cash to steal and save in abroad bank than managing what we have for betterments of Nigerians. Now Ecobank serve as Ecowas bank and finance by Nigeria and with that Nigeria take largest share in anything Ecowas is doing both profit and lost, but as France will take over monetary sponsor of Ecowas through Eco by Eco central bank in Senegal by central bank of Senegal what will be Ecobank hope for West Africa? Now Nigerian fail to secure it’s boarder and putting the blame to its neighbors countries and even forcing them to use their security system to help useless giant to secure her boarders. Nigeria forgets that whatever they do to their frencecofon countries is equerry doing to France. When I saw Buhari boosting that he don’t have date to open the boarder I laugh because I know it will come to this. You’re forcing a country that report to France which is part of decision making in UN to bow to you, impossible. I know that France will find a way to weak Nigeria economy and help his colonial people and this is beginning watch out if Buhari will not open the boarder before January 15 if only he saw what is about to happens to his economy. Even if he open the boarder is already late because some business agreements has already seal with other Ecowas countries including Ghana before accepting France offer, and part of the agreements is to save them from area they need Nigeria. We brag for nothing, do you know why Frenc cofon Nation’s still use CAF because Franc manage 50% of their foreign reserve for them and is not easy to let go. Nigeria only hope to manipulate Ecowas state when they start managing eco for them and it has been an issue with Senegal for year which France was behind all that. I predict that they will get Ghana and it happens, other country will soon join and by the time France secure crude supply agreement with either Russia or Oman to stable supply crude to Ecowas countries that use Eco, is will remain only Nigeria and Gambia, and this two nation will be suspend from Ecowas with one allegation or the other and Gambia will succumb and join them then they will suspend Nigeria indefinably. Boasting that without Nigeria no Ecowas is like Boosting that without all tribe belong to Nigeria that the tribes are dead. Divide Nigeria and see how comfortable people will live. Mind you Ecowas Bank will be in Senegal as France has concluded all the plan and the printing will be in France as CFA even if Nigerian join they are just there as others not as mighty for nothing. Now that Ghana has join count anything that Nigeria and Ghana have off because soon Ghana decision making will be France sorry this is beginning of Nigeria down fall because the wicked close boarder to punish himself. Don’t hope that Nigeria can succeed without her neighbors may be we think we can be as Britain if they eventually out from European union but that will be capital joke for Nigeria to stand alone. 2 Likes |

obaaderemi: What are u even saying ??... If it's not favourable to u, sign out , opt out , its not by force... As far back as 2years ago , I have been hearing about this ECO currency to ease AFTCA trading because we use different currencies , it's just to stabilize everything so that nobody will be at the receiving end of the trade...Nigeria rep on this issue are all lazy brain dead, because there is nothing new, after u have seen the blue prints which contains everything, it took u time to go through it and agree to be part of it , now , u still want to go through it again ... What happened to the blue prints given to u ??, When u said u need time to go through it before agreeing to be part of it , what were u going through then ??... Nothing is new , this is just implementation of the blue prints...Nigeria just keeps embarrassing itself with unqualified reps and foreign diplomats, everything as become by connection, no merit... That's how some foreign criminals are trying to dup Nigeria with fake deal , because of quackery... |

Built2last:that's the best reply from our govt. unfortunately OP do you know that ECO would be pegged with the euro indirectly having no control over your currency. above all the reserve bank would be in Europe. the Eco has no business with France or Europe so if our francophone neighbors wants to play smart good luck to them. |

Except the poster is stupid not to know that there is a "battle" going on between Nigeria and France for control of Ecowas. What else do you expect now. To state that we support it even when it's obvious that France is trying to isolate Nigeria in Ecowas with its overbearing influence on stooges like Ouattara. 2 Likes 1 Share |
