I respects Ghanaians a lot in terms of intelligence. I hope most Ghanaians don't reason like you.

It seems you just envy and hate Nigeria and Nigerians for no reason whatsoever. Thank god Nigeria and Ghana still cooperate in lots of spheres. You are getting an orgasm because your government locked 1000 shops, what's 1000 shops to Nigeria. Small Ababa alone contains thousands of shops.

You want France as ally as against Nigeria? See how other "French allies" in Africa and other parts of the world are faring. Vietnam fought a bitter war against france and the US, to remove france from Vietnam.

See sensible Nigerians protesting France's destabilisation of West Africa. You people need to join us to push france out of West Africa.

All they do is sit in a corner and just wait to her NIGERIA then they start hyperventilating as if we stole their wife or girlfriend. If you listen closely to what they are even saying it is absolute nonsense. The never pause to fully grasp any situation before the begin vomiting senselessly.

He thinks France wishes them well. Ghanaians have been known to always learn the hard way and this will not be different.

I saw 2 Ghanaians the other day at circle and they were talking to each other and one said "I like Nigerians a lot, I like them because they are very intelligent unlike our people" and this is the truth many of them hate to hear.

Even the ordinary citizens in francophone countries are beginning to see france as a trojan horse. It's their government officials that depends on France to remain in power that is keeping the countries in servitude to France.

Meanwhile this guy want to court France as an ally just to spite Nigeria.

Anti-French sentiment on the rise in West Africa as security situation deteriorates
Although France remains the only Western country with a significant military presence in the Sahel, France's relationship with its former African colonies has grown increasingly tense in recent months. This has led to an evident increase in anti-French sentiment.

"So that's when the conspiracy theories get going: Either they're there because of the supposed mineral riches in the north of Mali, or they think it's just a neocolonialist project to make sure that they remain part of France's backyard," he says.

Earlier this month, Macron responded to the rise in anti-French sentiment, urging G5 Sahel leaders to address the issue if they wanted France to continue its military operations against Islamist militants.

@1st bolded, did you just say Ghana remains Nigeria's nightmare? I laugh in twi.

@2nd and 3rd, you would get Nigeria to be confused about joining when Nigeria reluctantly has been delaying the take-off of the common currency because we've been so skeptical about the benefits to our economy.

You housing both headquarters means what? Brussels in Belgium houses the EU headquarters building and I guess it has made it the economic powerhouse of Europe.

Every other thing you typed is just wishful thinking, why restricting Ghana to be a regional power, why not for the African continent?
you think ECOWAS central bank and Africa Free Trade Agreement Headquarters Headquarters are political headquarters like EU headquarters. Funny cos they represents Trade and Economies and we will be in charge of ECO currency control.Oh and France their will never leave their colonies alone so we have to sign a deal with the devil so to be his deputy. It's better to be a security guard in a party in government than to be a national chairman of an opposition party. (Quote by our former president Kuffour. Half bread is better than none.

Then we will gradually take over trade policies in Africa whilst we continue to maintain our fastest growing economy in Africa and trust me in the next ten years,Ghana will be an almost developed country. Vision 2030.Go and read it about Ghana.

I'm not understanding. Does it mean the countries making up ECOWAS didn't vote on the adoption before the ECOWAS president or whoever was in charge, made a public declaration on it? This is quite silly.

And BTW Nigerias response is more mature - though both are still foolish responses, because it seems like it came as a shock to them.

Nigeria never told ECOWAS that they are interested in a single currency up till this moment.
That has been going on for years now.
So won't they reply them that they will get back at them?!
Nigeria’s naira is often seen as the likely anchor currency for ECOWAS, due largely to country’s sheer economic size and political importance.
This role would be akin to the one played by the German deutsche mark in the period leading to the introduction of the euro.
Our Conclusion : The Eco will clearly not be the panacea for West Africa’s myriad problems, including high levels of unemployment, especially among the burgeoning population of youth and the increasing numbers of the poor.
The lessons from the eurozone highlight continuing challenges among a group of highly developed countries with very strong institutions.
ECOWAS will do well to heed these lessons.
Also, efforts by member states to strengthen domestic macroeconomic frameworks are important.
Concerted efforts must be made to reduce the inordinate bureaucratic delays that severely constrain exports and imports at the border.
Launching the single regional currency, the “Eco,” by December 2019 is, at best, an expensive distraction that the people of West Africa can ill afford at this particular moment.
We stand with Nigeria.
Shame on the OP that brought this rubbish here, whatever his mission was and bigger shame on the illiterates typing jargons everywhere.
Lazy tins!

It is always good and refreshing to know that we still have reasonable and intelligent people like you guys on this forum.
Compared to the illiterates and pessimistic wailers that have nothing upstairs but just take side with anything that can make the country look bad.
Ireedeemable and pathetic tins they are.
No wonder Cownu called them whatever he addresed them as!4

The truth is obvious: this govt does not seem to fully understand anything. They always need to be taught virtually everything before they have a grasp of issues.
Same rway they rejected and refused to be part of the Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement. But what happened a few about a year later? They came back to join when they found that virtually all other countries had joinef.
Niheria can refuse to be part of the Eco. No qualms. Other countries will use and derive the benefits of trading in a common currency. Definitely the Eco will enjoy better stability in rate, convertibility than the Naira

The CFA had enjoyed same stability, convertibility and lower inflation rate than other ECOWAS countries.
Question for you, why is that not one of them has a GDP per capita higher than that of Ghana and Nigeria that don't don't use CFA?

Here are a list of countries in Africa who pegged their currency value to the euro even before the eco fully emerges

Benin
Burkina Faso
Guinea-Bissau
Ivory Coast
Mali
Niger
Senegal
Togo
Cameroon
Central African Republic
Chad
Republic of the Congo
Equatorial Guinea
Gabon

Notice they are all French speaking countries and former french colonies?
The euro is pegged to the economies of the strongest countries in Europe and these are Germany which is the fourth strongest economy in the world with an economy worth $3.4 trillion, followed by the United Kingdom with an economy worth $2.9 trillion. France is third on the list with $2.4 trillion.

Do you see the power play france is trying to play by leveraging off and leeching off these African countries?

Germany narrowly avoided recession in 2018 and if they had hit recession the value of the euro would sharply drop. If the eco is tied to the euro it too would suffer badly.

In essence herein is the slavery and recolonization part. These African countries cannot function independently and outside the limits they have been placed. They cannot make economic decisions on their own. So they are tied at the hip to France, Germany and UK.

Now if UK pulls out of EU which is expected to happen then the euro would be hard hit because $2.9 trillion support just got removed from EU and the eco would be hard hit.

I am not bothered about China and the Yuan. I would rather have Nigeria fully align with China. 2 most populous nations in the world (China most populous in the world and nigeria most populous in Africa) would make for a behemoth of an economy in trade terms.

The eco is not a good idea at this time and i am so glad Nigeria is not enthusiastic towards joining

The west is saturated now so all focus is on Africa and the quest to dominate her. Nigeria is a problem to those who wish to dominate Africa so they want to do everything to cut us down to size and this explains a lot about how Boko haram gets weapons and this move by france.

USA, FRANCE, UK all have military bases in various locations in Africa and for what? Arms Proliferation. They are the ones getting these arms to these terrorists but they turn around and act as if they are helping you fight them. Forked tongue nations.

Perfect, Perfect;.. you are truly the Ezeigbo 1 in global understanding of geo-econmic-military-political dynamics of our contemporary era. God will eternally bless Igbo sons like you who are not sleeping, but are vigilant with clearest understanding of the new era as it unfold. How I which some of us can form think tanks focusing on financial/structural changes that are fast unfolding in the international scene which are unbelievable and oblivious to over 90% of we Africans.

I have equip myself with some researched sources , like the book by Dambisa Moyo(the age of chaos), council on Foreign Relation, China in Africa project, etc.

Hahahaha the problem with nigerians is that they see everything as competition. It is always competition. Every country has a duty to take decisions and policies that in the country’s best interest. If Nigeria wants to go it alone because it thinks it has the population, that is Nigeria’s business. Trade among countries in the region is virtually non-existent anyway, but I also think nigeria will lose in some ways. For example, nigerian investment and trade relations in west African countries will suffer.

Even in terms of oil and gas, your petroleum officials have been saying that given the changing dynamics of global trade, it is prudent for Nigeria to target the African market for its oil and gas sales. I wish nigeria well, but in whatever you don’t try to be pompous and arrogant, otherwise, Nigeria will pay a very heave price for it. No country is an island. Without the support of other countries in the region, Nigeria can’t go far. Even within ecowas, you don’t have a veto power. Nigeria has just one vote in ecowas, like togo and Gambia.

Nigeria cannot be railroaded into this change. People need to understand international political economy before criticising our govt.

This was how we shouted with regards to ACTFA and we can see that if not for quick tough decision taken by govt by closing the borders, we would have found ourselves in deeper economic problems.
