If I change from this, the new height will put it at par(if not higher) than the fence thus eliminate the shade caused by the fence. But this is giving exposure to passersby to tempt them. 1 Share

Topmost11: That pole height might be too high, once you achieve a height sightly higher than the fence then you should not experience shading from the fence. Shading is a killer so try to address it, am currently working on mine |

queenfav: check inside the manual , it should be there it really annoys me when all this brand can't put a datasheet about there product online, they there not try it in other country 1 Like |

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by earthrealm(m): 10:21am On Jan 01, 2020 |
Topmost11: Am certain 2s2p will not perform better on pwm, Only way maybe if you are using wrong cable size ab initio....from pics, i sense your cable run is long, ie panel to cc, hope you checked the charts and sized ur cables apprioprately... S3ems the land outsude ur fence is empty, if occupied, i suggest u make an inverted L shaped rack, that will project 3 to 4ft above the fence, and to save cost..u may consider pinning the leg of the invertered L on the fence |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Topmost11(m): 11:18am On Jan 01, 2020 |
ojeysky: I will definitely do so |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Topmost11(m): 11:29am On Jan 01, 2020 |
earthrealm: My cable is 6mm and the run lenght is 25 meters. I have powmr 60a MPPT cc that is idle so I may just install that and do away with the pwm. I shall be getting additional 2×150watts panel by Jan ending. The land is indeed empty. It is a road and that is my fear. Devilish children passing may be attracted to it and throw stones on it or adults may just steal it. |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by olendave(m): 11:31am On Jan 01, 2020 |
queenfav: I think the power rating in watts is around 110 -120 watts From the formula of P=IV ; where P is power in watts, I is the value of the rated current and V is the rated voltage. From the provided data: P= 0.5 x 220 = 110 watt or P=0.5 x 240 = 120 watt. My view about it. 4 Likes |

ojeysky: I sell something similar. It is not All In One. The package should include a separate solar panel. I actually prefer this because you can position both the light and panel separately for best efficiency. 2 Likes |

Topmost11: The building and the fence near by would be casting shadows na ? If your set up is 12 volt and solar is 24volt with such series arrangements and a pwm charger, I don't think it would be efficient. Anyways, give us feedback 1 Like |

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by simydan(m): 11:53am On Jan 01, 2020 |
olendave: Yes! That's very correct! If the power is not stated but the voltage and current are provided then you can always get the power in watts by multiplying the voltage and current P(watt)=V(voltage) × I(current) |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by zeanslim(m): 11:57am On Jan 01, 2020 |
tonididdy: Kindly read the manual of your charge controller, This what I get when full charge on my jungle setup, although it's under a 60watt+ load (laptop) now but it's using the power directly from the panels The arrow sign from the panel stop blinking here

Topmost11: your panels are 150w 12v, 4units ai? if yes, 6mm is very wrong for 25m @parallel connection...you would be having massive losses. whats ur max instantenous and daily harvest use the link below to see for yourself https://www.solar-wind.co.uk/info/dc-cable-wire-sizing-tool-low-voltage-drop-calculator hope u can understand the rough pic, you wud use cross beams(angle iron) across the inverted L, so you have a base to place the panels. the panels.you can use bolt n nut to affix the panels to the rack....thus making it impossible for would be thieves to simply climb the fence and cart away the panels....as they would hv to climb inside ur compound..n use a ladder to undo all the bolts and nuts 1 Like
