Hello Nairalanders,

Happy New Year!

Been a long while I posted on this platform.

Canada has been good and I am grateful.

I decided to send a message to encourage as many as possible.

Canada Immigration has changed a lot since I moved (Just May 5th, 2019 o).

The post might be long but I am sure there are some things you can pick from it.

This is the reality

The government of Canada has given the current Minister of Immigration (Marco Mendicino) the following mandate
1.Immigration between 2020-2022 will focus more on the Provincial and Municipal Nomination Programs.
This is because many rural areas like Sudbury, Brandon and co are desperate to get immigrants to their municipalities.
While they know it will be hard to keep immigrants their, they believe some will eventually make it their home.

2. Eliminate CItizenship alpplication fee (Probabbly doesn't concern you for now)

My point which I believe are the facts

1. Do not put all your hopes on Express Entry especially if your scores are less that 465 cos I think the scores will
remain high (I pray I am wrong). So please put your eggs in different baskets. Schemes like Provincial Nominations
and Municipal Nomination Program and Pilot programmes. I believe early birds will stand a chance.

2. Immigration via school is also a good route but I advice you use firms like Maple Consults (NB: Please I no affiliation
with them nor do I collect any commission from them). This is because they can deny you visa. Just ask them;
-Which school is the cheapest school I can apply to in Canada that guarantees work permit. Nothing more!

For those that do not know anything about Atlantic Pilot or Municipal Nominations, you can watch the videos below
act ASAP.

I wish you all the best in 2020.

1. Tell your loved ones not to give up cos it's gonna be a bit rocky as they are not as privy to certain information
2. Tell them not put all eggs in a basket. Let them apply to everything. MNP, PNP and co.
3. When they calculate their scores for PNP, CRS should be 400+ to be considered while for MNP, it should be about 67-70 depending on the Municipal
4. Schooling is also an option especially if they can stay with some of us so they save on accommodation
5. They should start applying ASAP. It's always easier in the beginning before it gets more difficult.
6. There is hope as Canada intends to add another 1Million immigrants within that period

Age isn't on my side that much plus my masters degree is still in view. I will be rounding off by July 2020 and I would have lost another 5 points before then. Can't we just work something out together? I can so read to Ace ielts to get our points upgraded.

Please what's your take?

You are absolutely right municipal and pilot schemes like Atlantic and immigration pilot program (AIPP), Rural and Northern immigration program ( RNIP) etc. The POF for AIPP is N1m, RNIP is N2.3m. One of the major problems of these 2 schemes is getting a job, that's the major challenge. A job offer is what you will use to get nominated by the province or municipal.... 2020 will be a great year for us

Hello, sent a pm as regards the CIMA certification.

Utoechi:

All these happened before God sent me an angel in form of @muvey10 during our CIMA waka. I told her about my IELTS struggle and she told me she tutors for writing and speaking and she could give me a discount because I helped her through CIMA. I was skeptical at first because of the practice writing but her encouragement was on another level lool. She opened my eyes to the reasons why I was stuck at 7, taught me how to write better essays and get more marks in speaking.

Long story short, 14th December reading tried to kill my shine but God had better plans for me. With this score, I'll be at 471 when WES completes my CIMA evaluation!

Just resend certificate through Hellofax. Same thing happened to me 2days ago. And i resent and they have received.

IMASTEX:
What is the most efficient way to resend my certificate to WES?

I had made a solid arrangement for the transcript & certificate to be sent together to WES as I did provided the school a photocopy. I also follow-up on the courier agent to ensure all is done perfectly & given a positive feedback. After WES earlier acknowledging receiving the document (s). I'm surprised to see a new update needing certificate.

Good day everyone

Please I have questions...

1. Would a masters degree certificate from Nigeria open university be accepted for the PR processing ( I want to know if I should pursue Msc in open uni because of the flexibility due to the nature of my job

2. Would experience as a IT Analyst contract staff in the banking industry count in favor for me (I am not a direct hire for the bank, I came in through a 3rd party HR company)

Kindly help with your feedback

Oh Kay! I now understand why I was removed from the IELTS group. I was in the group quite alright and I will not say that I learnt a single thing cos I got some reading materials from a member of the group, but I was almost not involved in the group at all because I had a short time to prepare for the test and I was immersed in my private tutorials.

Thank God say man no be God if not nobody will go to Canada without bowing down to some people. Because I didn't acknowledge your group, you deleted me even without giving time for me to correct any errors. As a matter of fact I didn't use the group's method and I can't lie to make you feel good.

I made 9977 without being in your group so don't force me to do your biddings. Keep lording over the ones in your group, you can't do that to me.
yemblaze:
I know you were also added to @wasseynewest s whatsapp group and learnt some tips from the group.
But then no mention of thanks to him or the other tutors for their selflessness even on d group..#Insidelife
All the best to you.

Happy new year every one

Can i successfully use my employment and contract renewal letters from my company which has every detail required by CIC except the number of hours per week? Note that i work part time (twice a week) however the number of hours of work per week was not stated. I really do not want to go asking for a reference letter so as not to expose myself and to be frank i doubt i would be given in the format required.
Thank you

DECISION TO TRAVEL

In December 2017, my brother got his PR and this inspired my hubby and I to embark on this beautiful journey. He showed us his COPR/VISA to clear our doubt that this express entry is damn real. No time to waste as everybody don dey japa….and the state of this nation wasn’t encouraging . I don’t want my children to face all these naija wahala, the future looks scary. I had been privileged to have lived abroad before and I know how the systems works over there. So we rolled up our sleeves and started this Canada journey in 2018.

ECA (WES)

We registered for WES before they started asking for waec arround June 2018. I used etx to process my transcript, but those guys really disappointed me , story for another day. Until a friend introduced his contact person who assisted me to process my MBA transcript & verification despite ASUU strike. My spouse wes was smooth as a result of UK degree , the process was faster than mine.

IELTS
The fear of IELTS is the beginning of wisdom . I thank God for his mercy, my first & only attempt November 2018 LRWS- 8.58.578. Yayyyy oya jo soapy !!. I was so delighted with my results seeing how people are retaking the exam and the cost implications. I fear o!
However, hubby didn’t have to write IELTS because our CRS score was high enough to get us ITA.

MEDICALS:

I started calling Qlife for upfront medical December 2018, I was able to get 2 slots in February and May 2019. We later choose the February date for our upfront medical , everything went well for family of 4. The following month I got a call from Qlife if we still wanted to use the May date, I told them to give it out to another family.

PCC
We used ASP Moshood a very fine officer indeed. Spent like an hour for the whole process and we paid 10k ( 5k each for hubby and I) .

WORK REFERENCE:

My manager who is my direct supervisor gave me my job reference letter on a plain sheet in CIC format , he signed the letter and I went to notarize it. Meanwhile, the day I went to collect the letter my manager was asking me to explain how this Canada express entry works, I just smiled and we gisted about the process small. Oga sef won Japa from naija….hmmmm!

POF:

100% GIFT deed from my dad , he transferred the money into my account and I bought TBILLS for 181 days and printed a month bank statement joined.

I got two ADR for schedule A and Passport renewal. I called CIC after 3 months was told criminality and medical pass , VO Ottawa while others not started . Hmmmm, the wait no be small thing we prayed , fasted and sometimes got angry with myself as if something was wrong with our application. Lool, if man can see tomorrow ehn , I for no put myself on so much worry. We ordered GCMS note everything looked good , except a note file packed due to review required on client information.
Longggggg silence from CIC for 4 months , no ghost update . I just left everything to God and move on with my life. I got another ADR in October for passport renewal and submitted on time. First ghost update on November 1st .

The ultimate golden mail came in on November 5th , dated November 4th. My good people it’s has ended in praise for us AOR to PPR 6 months and 1 week . My watch has ended.

Please go head and submit. IRCC had taken the expiration date into consideration before issuing the PPR

But the instruction in the ppr email is to submit passports with at least 6months validility.

Happy new year folks!

I am in a dilemna and I need help. Myself and my spouse have hit the ground running (new year resolution. lol)

As the PA, our CRS score is 462. I have over 3 years work experience and a Masters degree.

My wife will bag her Phd degree in July. Our dilemna is she has been a freelancer almost throughout since she left school and she does not have much work experience in a corporate setting like I do. The freelance jobs actually amounts to 3 years and more if put together and that makes our CRS score 486 if she is the PA.

The dilemna is, can she claim over 3 years work experience as a freelancer? If yes, which documents will she need to prove this? (I am scared of our application being rejected on the grounds of misrepresentation cry).

Abi make I just close eyes apply as PA with our 462 and hope for the best?

Please help a brother!

If by freelance you mean works for herself and is self employed, she can be the PA provided she is able to provide the documents in this link under self employed section.

Also see post by Njbybrthnly where she listed what she provided as a self employed applicant.

With her as PA is the 486 with or without July PhD?

Either way, you can both start the ECA and IELTS process in tandem.

Please someone should answer me thanks

Nkydechik:

Happy new year every one

Can i successfully use my employment and contract renewal letters from my company which has every detail required by CIC except the number of hours per week? Note that i work part time (twice a week) however the number of hours of work per week was not stated. I really do not want to go asking for a reference letter so as not to expose myself and to be frank i doubt i would be given in the format required.
Thank you
