Hello Nairalanders, Happy New Year! Been a long while I posted on this platform. Canada has been good and I am grateful. I decided to send a message to encourage as many as possible. Canada Immigration has changed a lot since I moved (Just May 5th, 2019 o). The post might be long but I am sure there are some things you can pick from it. This is the reality The government of Canada has given the current Minister of Immigration (Marco Mendicino) the following mandate 1.Immigration between 2020-2022 will focus more on the Provincial and Municipal Nomination Programs. This is because many rural areas like Sudbury, Brandon and co are desperate to get immigrants to their municipalities. While they know it will be hard to keep immigrants their, they believe some will eventually make it their home. 2. Eliminate CItizenship alpplication fee (Probabbly doesn't concern you for now) My point which I believe are the facts 1. Do not put all your hopes on Express Entry especially if your scores are less that 465 cos I think the scores will remain high (I pray I am wrong). So please put your eggs in different baskets. Schemes like Provincial Nominations and Municipal Nomination Program and Pilot programmes. I believe early birds will stand a chance. 2. Immigration via school is also a good route but I advice you use firms like Maple Consults (NB: Please I no affiliation with them nor do I collect any commission from them). This is because they can deny you visa. Just ask them; -Which school is the cheapest school I can apply to in Canada that guarantees work permit. Nothing more! For those that do not know anything about Atlantic Pilot or Municipal Nominations, you can watch the videos below act ASAP. I wish you all the best in 2020. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCuBKV8pszmtFZfkavsmpqEA --ZTCanada This guy breaks down every municipal nomination program with step-by-step demos on how to apply. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7_zz6L9_Wbp9n-7M4NwhtQ --LPGroup This is a consulting firm I follow when I want to keep up with all that has to do with immigration and how its changing. For those who don't have time to read, you can consult them for free. NB: I do not endorse any organization or individual so contacting consultants is at your own risk. I was not paid in anyway to advertise or promote individuals or firms Please go through the link below. If you do not have much time or Data af finish, check video number 3 by IgorRyltsev. 6 minutes video and straight to the point. Below that Igor Video is a list of in demand occupations so you can start applying. I suggest you go through other videos as I am sure you will find something useful. You can even subscribe and click the notification if you are a gmail user so that you can stay up to date on the latest in the Canada immigration world. All da best on this journey. Please Take Action!!! https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=seed+immigration+pilot+program https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-aAxwzTgIc (bonus Video) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQml9TpjENc (bonus video) Extras My 2cent 1. Tell your loved ones not to give up cos it's gonna be a bit rocky as they are not as privy to certain information 2. Tell them not put all eggs in a basket. Let them apply to everything. MNP, PNP and co. 3. When they calculate their scores for PNP, CRS should be 400+ to be considered while for MNP, it should be about 67-70 depending on the Municipal 4. Schooling is also an option especially if they can stay with some of us so they save on accommodation 5. They should start applying ASAP. It's always easier in the beginning before it gets more difficult. 6. There is hope as Canada intends to add another 1Million immigrants within that period 51 Likes 25 Shares |

tollybb: Age isn't on my side that much plus my masters degree is still in view. I will be rounding off by July 2020 and I would have lost another 5 points before then. Can't we just work something out together? I can so read to Ace ielts to get our points upgraded. Please what's your take? 1 Like |

bababode825: You are absolutely right municipal and pilot schemes like Atlantic and immigration pilot program (AIPP), Rural and Northern immigration program ( RNIP) etc. The POF for AIPP is N1m, RNIP is N2.3m. One of the major problems of these 2 schemes is getting a job, that's the major challenge. A job offer is what you will use to get nominated by the province or municipal.... 2020 will be a great year for us 11 Likes |

Hello Folks!! Happy New Year My PPR story Timeline ITA - April 3 AOR - May 11 MEP/BIL - June 21 ADR - July 2 RPRF GU - 21 Dec PPR- 23 Dec VO - Ottawa FSW O 7 months 12days I should be screening and jumping as I type this but I guess the excitement has bubbled down now the focus is on the next objective - LANDING Early Days My brother first introduced me to this Express Entry March 2016. He sent me an email with all the details urging me to take it serious and write IELTS. Then I used the CRS calculator and realized that I would need at least a masters to meet up with the draws trend then. I abandoned it as I dint have a master yet and EE wasn’t popular then. Fastforward March 2017 I lost my plush job and my world basically crash landed. I knew immediately I had to leave this country to get a chance of living a comfortable life. My brother told me again bout Express Entry and that he had applied. I quickly took interest again as the draws became very low 413, 415,421.Canada was doing EE bonanza. I rushed to do my IELTS, WES and open my profile but by the time I was done about three months later, the draws has gone up to the 433 range and I couldn’t meet up again until 2 years later April 2019. My brother an sister got there ppr that year, then I knew I had bleeped up but vowed I will also get it. IELTS 1st IELTS LRWS 8 6.5 7 7 May 2017 2nd. 8. 9. 7 7 Jun 2017 3rd. 8.5 8 7 8.5 July 2018 I wrote the 3rd IELTS hoping to max out to boost point but it dint help. Then the puzzle to boost points began, around July 2018 my comrade in the struggle told me that writing ACCA diploma would count as 2or more certificates with my bac. I was skeptical at first but was gonna do anything for the points 3 months later I was done with the diploma and applied for WES. WES I had to do a re-evaluation for 2 or more certificates after completing the diploma. Wes had there issues but thank God I was done with them 4 months laters. My diploma was evaluated as a 3yrs program while some pple got 1 semester maybe that due to d fact that I had opened my ACCA account many years ago but just abandoned it. POF 100% gift deed from dad. Notarized Submitted 6 months bank statement, gift deed transfer slip and 6months fixed deposit certificate Work Permit Well I am not working at the moment and I stated that. As I was studying full time now I got a letter from my former work place in CIC format where I had worked for over 3 yrs and ended over a year as at AOR. I submitted just the letter and my boss business card. Siblingship & Pr status of brother My brother provided a letter introducing me as his brother, his Pr card, gas light bill, tenancy agreement I also provided an affidavit and thankfully we have more than enough pictures growing up as a family, I provided enuf pics frm about age 5 till very recent pics. Post AOR There was a very long silence and wait was really frustrating once I crossed the 6months timeline I literally was depressed especially as you can know what it going on with your file even when you call. Thank God it came through. My watch has ended. Guys please I have less than 6 months on my passport, Can I present this for COPR or must it have 6 months validity? I have already applied for renewal but it taking time 43 Likes 4 Shares |

Good day everyone Please I have questions... 1. Would a masters degree certificate from Nigeria open university be accepted for the PR processing ( I want to know if I should pursue Msc in open uni because of the flexibility due to the nature of my job 2. Would experience as a IT Analyst contract staff in the banking industry count in favor for me (I am not a direct hire for the bank, I came in through a 3rd party HR company) Kindly help with your feedback |

Oh Kay! I now understand why I was removed from the IELTS group. I was in the group quite alright and I will not say that I learnt a single thing cos I got some reading materials from a member of the group, but I was almost not involved in the group at all because I had a short time to prepare for the test and I was immersed in my private tutorials. Thank God say man no be God if not nobody will go to Canada without bowing down to some people. Because I didn't acknowledge your group, you deleted me even without giving time for me to correct any errors. As a matter of fact I didn't use the group's method and I can't lie to make you feel good. I made 9977 without being in your group so don't force me to do your biddings. Keep lording over the ones in your group, you can't do that to me. yemblaze: 13 Likes |

Happy new year every one Can i successfully use my employment and contract renewal letters from my company which has every detail required by CIC except the number of hours per week? Note that i work part time (twice a week) however the number of hours of work per week was not stated. I really do not want to go asking for a reference letter so as not to expose myself and to be frank i doubt i would be given in the format required. Thank you Gtpee: |

Happy new year folks! I am in a dilemna and I need help. Myself and my spouse have hit the ground running (new year resolution. lol) As the PA, our CRS score is 462. I have over 3 years work experience and a Masters degree. My wife will bag her Phd degree in July. Our dilemna is she has been a freelancer almost throughout since she left school and she does not have much work experience in a corporate setting like I do. The freelance jobs actually amounts to 3 years and more if put together and that makes our CRS score 486 if she is the PA. The dilemna is, can she claim over 3 years work experience as a freelancer? If yes, which documents will she need to prove this? (I am scared of our application being rejected on the grounds of misrepresentation ). Abi make I just close eyes apply as PA with our 462 and hope for the best? Please help a brother! |

Lagoscooldude: If by freelance you mean works for herself and is self employed, she can be the PA provided she is able to provide the documents in this link under self employed section. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/permanent-residence/express-entry/applications-received-on-after-january-1-2016-completeness-check.html Also see post by Njbybrthnly where she listed what she provided as a self employed applicant. https://www.nairaland.com/5031893/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/183#76836965 With her as PA is the 486 with or without July PhD? Either way, you can both start the ECA and IELTS process in tandem. 4 Likes 5 Shares |
