I watched the video. The headline is misleading, the pope never slapped the woman. He simply removed the hand of the woman from his hand. How can the woman pull 83year old man like that not minding that the pontiff is old and may likely lose his balance. See I don’t see any reason why the pope should apologize but be it as it may, his apology showed sign of humility and a true leader. To our Pontiff, so sorry that the woman pulled u that way. She may really want to touch u but unfortunately for her, she did it in a wrong way.

You are comparing apples and oranges. The woman who touched Jesus had an ailment for many years. Her reason for touching Jesus was her hoping she would receive her healing. It is not easy menstruating non-stop. She was desperate for a healing. The woman who groped this elderly pope on the other hand was not looking for any healing. She was just being a nuisance who has no concept of respecting someone's personal space. She almost caused the elderly pope to fall. Serves her right!

You are right! The Popes action was not mimetic of Christ's infinite patience and thats why he eventually apologised.

Nobody is supposed to be violent towards anybody; however if you clearly have no respect for your fellow humans personal space and at a point, he responds to you with a hardy SLAP you shouldnt be surprised!
