It's long overdue. It's one of the needed steps towards regionalization and eventual restructuring. But when I remember the fate of LAUTECH in the hands of Osun and Oyo, I can only imagine what will become of the Amotekun in the hands of these Chief Executives. Each state should have floated their outfits, after all Kano has Hisbah Police. 79 Likes 7 Shares |

ZombieTERROR:Police? Yes police. Local police. Just like vigilante. The reason for their creation is to check the activities of herdsmen and not the civil populace. Fayemi never mentioned herdsmen for reasons you already know. 59 Likes 3 Shares |

the outfit would complement the efforts of the regular security agencies. If the federal government doesn't stop the SW from operating independently they essentially allowed state police. There's still a need for constitutional amendments regarding police and prisons. This will be an interesting test of federalism. Other states should just start their own police service afterwards. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

This is highly commendable. For the first time, I salute the west governors If they can have more courage and speak with one voice nobody or group will stop good things from coming to Swest and Nigeria. I hope the East will trade this type of action or more to achieve something for their people. 19 Likes 2 Shares |

Marine54: Lol who would be dumb enough to take on armed crimals without a gun? The hunters fighting boko haram brought their guns without FG losing their minds. In just surprised they didnt invest in better weapons. In this photo taken on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2019, a group of hunters gather at a camp in Maiduguri Nigeria. Thousands of Nigerian hunters, armed with charmed amulets and intimate knowledge of harsh terrain, are preparing an offensive against the Boko Haram extremists who have ravaged the northeast for a decade, calling it "high time" they help soldiers end the deadly insurgency.
